@7merkaba7 Broadly speaking, a drug is a substance which, when absorbed into the body, alter normal bodily function. By that definition, weed is definitely a drug (or, if you want to be pendantic: tetrahydrocannabinol is).
@rodyle1313 If you're gonna speak broadly, then of course I'm going to assume that you're including caffine, booze, sugar, infact EVERYTHING is a drug under that definition. I'm not saying you're wrong, but I'm pointing out that the definition of drug should be a bit less vague. Weed is still a wonderful plant regardless if it's a drug or not. Medical-wise and recreational. But focus on the documentary instead, that's why we're here.

Love Robert Wyatt - he and Bill Bruford are my favourite drummers! - his take on girls is excellent: Where were they? They were in cafes. What were they doing? Sitting there. :)
Really cool that my comm got banned for too many negative votes, its always more hip to be hated! And again, Synth Pop was like the awakening of the long cold nightmare of 70s Prog Rock
@michbeck88 It´s evident that your mind isn´t up to Prog Rock. Not an easy genre to listen to, but rich in musical knowledge and creativity, and it´s only appreciated if the listener is patient and willing to make it a part of oneself.
@DelgiftC08 Well said! We proggers are from a different breed. A bit too complex if you ask me. Everything we listen, read or watch has to be multidimensional. Sometimes I had felt like putting a patch on my third eye and live life a bit easier. But I think I would had had regrets if I had actually done it.
@vivelavidarocka When I was a teenager I was always and excuse for laughs to my school partners because they had no idea what Prog Rock was all about. I had to go through that pretty rough time and, as you said, thought that maybe everything would be easier if I just stop being a part of it. But fortunately, it was only that, just a vague thought. Now even most of my ex-school partners respect me and appreciate me the way I´ve always been. :)
god damnit i love soft machine... i love the early stuff.. but im afraid that 7 is my favorite. maybe it depends on my mood (nice to have a band that can cater to your mood)
@eddiemperor yes! figures it takes a drummer to get these guys together, then another drummer to help alter/shape the new sound. we drummers/percussionists are underrated by too many and are called "the ones who hang with musicians" too often. SOME of us may not write music, but we have Ears beyond the norm. as a keyboardist i would love to hear your thoughts.
p.s. andromeda strain.. great name, but i can't find my headphones.
@dblyoi Thanks!! Hope you like My music, If you like ELP I suggest u hear my Humble notes :) I think Personally a Drummer Makes The Band Itself , There's A Limit on Creativity Between a String and Key Player, Of Course... Rythm is the Spinal Chord of Music(because it balances the body of Music), Just like Harmony is the very Blood IMO, Not a Drummer my self but respect the Art of it ,from Jazz to Timpani, From Peart to Death Metal Extreme Drumming :)

@1994AlmostSkater Do you mean "Rondo" by the Nice? The part that's playing is the keyboard solo in the middle, based heavily off of Bach's "Toccata in D Minor"

paperpichu 10 months ago
@paperpichu I listened to a lot of prog, but not Gentle Giant. Just checked out, a couple of songs here.
Only ok. Can you recommend a couple of top songs?
My favorites today are Camel and King Crimson. I think they stood the test of time the best.
Jon Andersons solo: Olias of Sunhillow, is great too

@Matshoppahulle Some good examples of GG: Proclamation, Interview, Knots, Peel the Paint. Those are some of my favorite songs by Gentle Giant.
