I hate to say this, but I wonder if this wonderful pastiche was the inspiration for "Hooked On Classics?" I laugh heartily every time I hear this and hear some new song or piece.
This is the most incredible piece of classical music ever written - even I lost count of the references to other works! For the record, it's THE ROYAL BALLET SINFONIA under the baton of GAVIN SUTHERLAND. The Ultimate name-that-tune showstopper.
@paulfel9 even the composer can't keep track of all of them - the ones he isn't sure of he refers to as 'ygiagam's (for 'your guess is as good as mine') :D
