  • if we had satellite tv back when this shit was on noone would have ever watched it

  • Indira Gandhi ran a whole big country

That isn't easy even if you're a guy

  • ....and u have to remember this is WHEN tv had beginnings. U know credits at the beginning of a tv series. Alan AND Merlyne Bergman wrote this.

  • man,i love maude they should show more of her on tv,rather they show those goddamn reallity crapola nowadays.

  • Family Guy nailed that shit!

  • your`e bad,,my dad doesn`t like her either.

  • And then theres maude

what the hell AND THEN THERES MAUDE

  • ...Pocahontas...

  • I loved Maude and All in the Family when I was a kid.

I have a lot to say about this for the television and movie and even the music industry.

Google Jeff Fisher American Patriot loves Jane Bowell and God Forever

  • .... and then theres Maude....

  • amalia airhart flew a lot of airplanes

except for that one time where she didnt come back....

  • hahahaha

  • donny hathaway sung the theme for this show!

  • Nobody, could Clock, Pluck, Read, and don't forget through shade, like Maude.

  • aww Peter Griffin!!!

  • That's awesome...apparently I just saw the same Family Guy as you...lol.

  • i just bought maude season 1 it is so funny you have to remember that it's a political show focusing on lots of issues that were controversial for it's time.

  • LOL Bea Arthur. I had no idea a godawful show like this existed until Family Guy made referrence to it

  • Thank God this show was barely in syndication and I wasn't adult enough to watch this in 1972!

  • When I was in grade school in the early-70's, I loved this show, and its them. I always had misheard the lyrics back then as "...and Lizzy Border was a bad Axe Murderer; aren't you sad she showed up? - Oh yeah!"

  • how the hell did maude have a baby in wat like the 3rd season? did her penis get in the way?

  • Yeah, the show that gave us 'Good Times' (DYNOMIIIIIIITE) and Adrienne Barbeau, sometime wife and moviestar of John Carpenter

  • one of my all time favorite themes, that's Donny Hathaway singing

  • who's Donny Hathaway? what has he done? he sounds like a good singer .... smooth voice

  • lol, who's Donny Hathaway? a singer and songwriter who committed suicide back in '79.

go to itunes or anywhere online and do a search. And he sang with Roberta Flack back then. And he had hits.

  • rofl whos donny???????lol what a sin only jokin,Donny is THE VOICE JELLO THAT GOD GIVES BUT A FEW

  • I'm from Tuckahoe, where this was filmed.

  • I assume you mean the same Tuckahoe, NY in Westchester and not the other one out on Long Island. :-)

  • And then there was Maude........

  • Oh, LOVED Maude.

LOVED her 70's kitchen even MORE !!!!

    Ah the good days.

  • Kewl, but a little before my time. I also agree that the kitchen is 70's looking indeed.

  • God that kitchen is so 70s looking at the end.

  • that's the classic chocolate-harvest gold-avocado green-bunt orange 70's decor!

  • Norman Lear: Genius.

  • Hey!!??? They didnt show any prius on the roads....!!! I wonder why????? Hehehehehe!!!!

  • Love the New York scenes!!

  • Me too

  • i think of bea arthur when i try to prolong sex, either that or a 400 pound hairy guy sitting naked on the toilet eating a bucket of KFC. i find Maude is more effective.

  • bless you bea arthur for being the breakthrough lesbian of all time!!!

  • I believe you have to be a woman to qualify as a lesbian. *rimshot*

  • Amelia Earhardt flew lots of airplanes

till the time that she didn't come back...

lol That's a great parody of a great no holds barred fullblown feminist salutin' early seventies sitcom.

You have Chico and the Man?

The best pure song in my opinion, scratch.

My favorite song of that era was Streetbeater... aka San and son. Listen to a the studio stereo version on other than a tv.

Quincy Jones wrote that number.. greattttt tune..

  • Very cool.

  • Donny Hathaway's vocal is awesome in this song, he really was a great singer....

  • why didn't it list rue mcclanahan? don't conrad bain and her play husband and wife?

  • they weren't in every show, i think

  • It was season one. Her character got more airtime and she was listed, eventually. Her role was "reoccurring" originally.

  • Also, were'nt they she and Arthur not married 'til the second or third season?

  • no shows today with a big scary woman starring, and what exactly is supposed to be assumed after,..."and then there's maude."

  • 193and wrote "no shows today with a big scary woman starring"

    Oprah ;)

I agree though she scared the hell outta me.. the only reason I could watch was Andrienne BB. And Bill Macy??? As in William H. Macy?? Naw.. again I remember almost nothing of Maude. Maybe my mom made me leave the room cause I always screamed in terror till Andrienne showed up. Wasn't it a spinoff of Rhoda which was a spi.. etc.?

  • those were the good ole days when tv was tv & not all that reality show all over. thnx 4 postin

  • and then there's Maude!
