  • On a side note, I want to ask something. Are you ladies cool with a male GYN? The reason I ask is because my younger cousin is about to have her first one and wanted my opinion on gender. For me, I have to say that I prefer men. I've had 2 different female GYN's in the past and walked out of the office damn near crying. I think that women are more rough in the procedure. I have an older man now and he's great! No pain and he always has a female in the room too. What do you ladies think?

  • My friend sage told me she was getting one and shes 12.. She didnt go though. She tild me her dictor said u have to start them the year after your period starts. Apparenty, she lied.

  • @iloco1998 According to Dr Robert S. Mendelsohn pap smears can do more harm than good. In countries that don't do pap smears actually have a lower rate of cervical cancer. The test is unreliable and should be banned. Plus male doctors often take advantage of women. Do not be fooled.

  • @SoldierOfChrist110 This is not true, please correct your concepts

  • @pearlmjhz Yes it is true. Pap smears can be unreliable and do more harm than good.

  • @iloco1998 your friend possibly different lie. Sometimes doctors tell young ladies to start after their first period, some say after you begin being sexually active, and some say at age 21.

  • Can anyone tell me if it's necessary to get a pap smear at age 21, if you're not sexually active? When must women *absolutely* get one?

  • @Decktrio Pap smear should be started after sexual activity

  • @pearlmjhz So a woman who remains sexually abstinent doesn't have to get a pap smear... ever?

  • @angel10252 its not painful, but uncomfortable. I wiggle so much lol but some women relax. And its something you get when you start having sex.

  • All the adults I know keep telling me I have to get one, and I'm only 15. By what y'all are saying I think I will take my chances and just refuse to go. Because that seems very painful and scary. :(

  • @angel10252 Forget pap smears. There is a specialist doctor in the UK who believes these exams can do more harm than good. When a cell is damaged it is more likely to turn cancerous. Many women slightly bleed after these barbaric exams. This is a sign of a damaged cell. There is a lot of myth and deception in the medical industry. I urge you to read a book called: "Confessions Of A Medical Heretic."

  • Ok, I need to warn all the ladies out there..I just got my 1st pap smear done, and I had heard from everyone/everywhere that they aren't painful, just "slighly uncomfortable." This is a lie!! At least for me! It was honestly the most excruciatingly painful experience of my life. I don't want to scare anyone, but you need to know another side of the truth!

  • I think male gynecologist are disgusting. Just like you don't see female doctors who look at penises, we shouldn't have to see male doctors who look at vaginas.

  • @xTempusxFugitx I have discovered that some male doctors give their female patients unnecessary internal exams if the woman is young and attractive. I found this out from people who know male gynecologists personally. They said that most women won't question it because they trust the doctor. Many women have complained before that they often get asked to have an intimate exam when there is no need. This is a dirty trick that a lot of doctors use on young, attractive women.

  • @xTempusxFugitx: Hi there. I'm just respectfully responding to you and have to disagree. I am a 27 y/o woman who went to the GYN for the first time as a young adult after losing my virginity and since then have had 4 GYN's total (in lieu fo insurance changes, etc.) I have to say that male GYN's are more gentle. As I said in another comment here, I went to female GYN's and walked out in pain-to a point of no relief. And with male GYN's they always have a female assistant in the room.

  • Being 26 and never heard of pap smear til now. I'm suppose to have it done in dec. Sigh. And I'm still virgin. Weird

  • @jamberriesful There is a doctor specialist in the UK named Dr Angela Raffle who believes smear tests can do more harm than good. Smear tests can damage cells in the cervix which can help to cause cancer. It was the male medical industry who invented these barbaric exams. Many male doctors give unnecessary exams to women who are young and attractive. Do not be fooled. These unnecessary exams can do more harm than good and have left many women feeling violated. Look up Dr Angela Raffle.

  • @jamberriesful

You're not alone. I'm 24 and still a virgin too. I'm gonna have to have one soon....so I'm already scared.

  • @ilovemybooth genius... cervical cancer is not familial. it is caused by a virus, HPV, which is contracted through sex. if you want to choose not to have a pelvic exam fine, but don't say it's "unnecessary" when you have no medical training to make such a ridiculous statement. and btw, the pelvic exam is essential when getting birth control to make sure you don't have a contraindication to taking birth control. but then again, you're probably one of the dumbasses that would sue in an instant

  • @twolivesintertwined You're cute. Unlike doctors I'm not interested in money. I'm well aware that it's "nessicary" however I don't think a woman should have to do it every single year nor to get a refill on a prescription. I have no medical training have no interest in doing so. Don't get your panties in a bunch over someone else's opinion. You like it then do it. However I choose not to.

  • I am in a dark corner of YouTube...

  • Freaking hate these, but have to be done. And he is a guy(no offense) so he wouldn't know if they hurt.

  • 21? im only 15 and a virgin andi have to get it ugh

  • @EventerSarah i havr to go tomorrow for the first time and am terrified! im only 16!

  • @EventerSarah Hi, you don't have to have a pap smear at 15. Whoever told you this is fooling you. There is a doctor specialist in the UK called Dr Angela Raffle who believes these exams can do more harm than good. Smear tests can damage the cells in the cervix which can cause the increase of cancer. Cervical cancer is very rare and women survived for thousands of years without these barbaric exams. Many male doctors also take advantage of female patients. Do not be fooled. Look up Angela Raffle.

  • what is he talking about?has he ever performed one,it hurts

  • thats bull crap. i had one done b4 and it hurt for a while.

  • I have to get one this week. Im kind of scared....

  • @alonguemtv07

    so how'd it go?

    i have one i two weeks..nervous

  • @alonguemtv07 I have to get it tommarow. !

  • @alonguemtv07

I have to get mine soon...this is scary. I don't know if it's going to feel weird, hurt..or something......

  • @Mika20 I couldnt finish mines... :(

  • @alonguemtv07 don't do it

  • @alonguemtv07 I have to get one in like a month.. I'm horrified after the video I just watched.... 0.o they shoved this metal thing up the girls vagina! D:

  • @ShawdieeMassacre yea see what kinda shit we have to go through lol

  • @ShawdieeMassacre Pap smears can do more harm than good. I urge you to get a book called "Confessions Of A Medical Heretic" This doctor will explain the myths in the medical industry and how women are more likely to be victims. I wish I could tell the whole world about the agenda's and deception that goes off in the medical industry. Doctors will use the cancer scare tactic to get women to have regular exams, and many male doctors are also creepy.

  • Necesary but NOT fun...basically they get an ice-cream scoop thing and scrape your insides and it is very uncomfortable, if not a litte painful !

  • i just had a pap smear this week and it was not painful but bleeding did occur after several minutes. i am waiting on my results now from kaiser. wish me good luck and that all is good.

  • @8006185 bLEEDING?!?!?! wow well i thought it was painful!! worst feeling ever

  • @DV1809 yes bleeding but w/o the cramps. it only lasted for about a couple of hours. the nurse gave me a pad to put on just in case there was bleeding. i am glad i put it on b/c w/o it i would have messed up my clothes and i had to go back to work after the appt. i have had paps in the past but this exam was a screening for cervical cancer and thank GOD the results were negative.

  • I am so scared of this i am almost sure it hurts....

  • @SuperFrenchlady They made me get one even though im a Virgin...I cried because I didnt like it.. :/

  • @GoodSingingChick92 This should not be required of virgins! I am one as well, and they have never been able to perform one successfully on me. Not while I'm conscious, anyway. I wouldn't go at all if I didn't need Lybrel to stop my cycle, which went out of control a few years ago. I have little more than two weeks until my next appt, and I really don't want to go! :(

  • @dreamcatchr2006 If their telling a virgin to be tested, its not most likely "just cause" its probably making sure you dont have cancer...maybe it runs in the family...maybe their concerned about something... Also there are things like cysts that can be found and fixed after a pap test...Im not trying to argue, just saying that maybe theres a reason behind it and all related to your health being looked after...

  • PLEASE google 'unnecessary paps blogcritics' and read, read, READ

Please do your research and stop unnecessary testing

So many women have allowed their cervix to be mutilated without really understanding the risks ... and that Cervical Cancer is RARE!!!

  • @abbbbbcd12 Thank you! Women need to read comments like yours. Testing is unnessicary and does cause more damage than good.

  • @ilovemybooth I agree with you. These exams can do more harm than good. Look up Dr Angela Raffle. She is a specialist in the UK and believes these exams do more harm than good. Smear tests can damage blood cells in the cervix and may help to cause cancer. I have discovered that many male doctors do unnecessary exams on young, attractive women. They will often use blackmail: "If you don't have the exam I can't prescribe the pill"

This is a dirty trick used by creepy doctors. Do not be fooled.

  • @xcrdude03 what planet do you live on? You need to be a doctor to do a pap smear otherwise you could do serious damage if not done right. If you can't trust your gf with a male doctor that's your problem but it means your insecure about yourself. I can't understand why any girl would want to stay with someone who has such low self esteem...

  • @lindap84 Nurse practitioners and physicians assisstants can also do pap smears, colposcopy's, and biopsies as well as other tests. If not done right it can alter your results but a pap cannot cause serious damage.

R.Ns trained to do so can and do insert speculums. I do agree with what you said about being insecure though.

  • Who cares if the doctor is a guy? All of you men should just grow up. If you really do care about your girlfriend, then you have to trust her and let her get examined to make sure she is healthy down there. It's really no big deal unless they find something usual like the clip says. In my opinion, I would rather have an upset boy friend then find out I have a cancerous tumor down there and its too later because I didn't do the test all because my boyfriend was jealous over a doctor.

  • @XxXAnnaAnestheticXxX yes she could. but she didnt. she decided to hurt my feelings instead. If girls honestly dont care who does the procedure, then why wouldnt there only be girl doctors? christ. alot of girls are smarter then guys anyways. they actually listen in school.

  • @79lucatoni actually, i am 25. and im considering purposing to my girlfriend. and guess what, girls can be just as stupid as men. and telling me that i must be a guy for saying something like that is called sexist. how old are you?? 12? 13? and i still stand by what ave said. i believe that any guy can do this proceedure. and with the proper training, they shouldnt need a medical degree. theres no need for you to be sexist. you give women a bad name

  • @xcrdude03 and for the record, i pretty much proven myself of being a male when i sai that "i dont want my girlfriend being felt up by another man". i ootta say, "You MUST be a girl. Only a GIRL could be stupid enough to not realize im a male." but i wont say that. cuz im not a jerk. ...whoopsies. i said it. hah.

  • @xcrdude03 i feel you on that. my boyfriend says the same thing. im not sure but i'd ask like a pharmacy maybe? lol or she can. but i know their out there.

  • i think anybody at all can take a pap smear. it shouldnt only be gynocologists. I think the husband should be aloud to. how do you think he feels when your out getting felt up by some male doctor perv? all you gotta do is take a smear of sells from the cervix, scrape it onto a microscopic slide, and send it off to a lab to be analyzed. you SHOULDNT need a medical degree to do that

  • @xcrdude03 they have those actually lol... i want it aha

  • i would let ANYONE give me a pap smear

  • @xcrdude03 I do not think you know what you are talking about!

  • @xcrdude03

Your so stupid. Doctors are fucking professional they dont "feel you up" its their fucking job. Grow a pair and stop whining. Your 25 for christ sake.

  • @DisturblyDisturbed0 Actually there are many male doctors who do get sexual aroused when examining a young, attractive woman. You cannot tell if they are being professional in their mind. I've heard all kinds of creepy stories. And look how often male doctors lose their licence for abusing females. Women should only be examined by female doctors.

  • @SoldierOfChrist110

I see your point and in my opinion females should only do pap smears but this guy is saying "the husband should be allowed to". I honestly dont agree with that at all. But I do agree 100% that female doctors should do the examination.

  • @DisturblyDisturbed0 Fair enough, but you just seemed quite angry at the other person.

  • I had an abnormal pap for 3 years. I spread my legs enough for him to access my vagina as soon as he was done with me he had to look at my vagina again then looked at my face I didn't know if he forgot the instrument or wanted to look at my private part one more time. Anyway, he took care of me.I never fool around he's my first but the reason why I was abnormal because my husband worked as a mechanic and he smokes a lot. Now I make sure his hands are clean I don't want to go through this again.

  • i am very sorry... but abnormal paps are NOT caused by guys smoking or working with maechnics and then touching you down there haha... its ONLY caused by the HPV-virus which is transmitted sexually, just because youve never been with anyone else doesnt mean he hasnt been with anyone else. I work as a maternity nurse, so i know what i´m talking about. and seriously, you CANT get abnormalities the way you say you got it!

  • To gunsnforever I totally disagree with you I already I had talk with my doctor and you're all wrong. You may work as a maternity nurse, but not an expert on pap smear.

  • im not trying to battle you but i think its wrong when you are spreading the wrong facts, young women or women in general could read this and actually think that its their botfriends fault that they get this ...

  • What could cause an abnormal pap smear result?

An abnormal Pap smear may indicate any of the following:

    - AN INFECTION OR AN INFALMMATION

    -Herpes

    -Trichomoniasis

    -Recent sexual activity

-HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) This is also called genital warts (up to 60% of women may carry this virus on their cervix, genital area, or skin and are completely unaware of it).

-Dysplasia (abnormal cells that can be pre-cancerous)

  • -Infections are not caused by getting smoke in your vagina!

-Trichomonas are very unlikely to give cellular abnormalities!

-Recent sexual activity... well, yeah, when you get infected with HPV!

-HPV, yes, thats what i said.

-Dysplasia is not a reason itself, its what happens when you are exposed to the virus (HPV). Its the cellular abnormalities and not the reason you get cell abn.

I may not be an expert, but i´m more of an expert than you and a fact is you cannot get it the way you say.

  • this doc. is kinda hot!

  • Isn't the CSA blood test more accurate than a pap smear? That's what I've heard and it kind of confuses me why women need such an invasive exam when doctors could easily just take a blood sample and get better results.

  • CSA or other blood tests just provide a non specific means to show abnormal conditions.

Pap smear however is considered to be a direct biopsy which could show a pre malignant cervix with histopathologic proof, which is the ultimate feature in a medical diagnosis.

Pap smear is actually the best screening test which has been developed in medicine and has saved lives by accurately screening cervical cancer all over the world.
