This came on my Ipod when i had left a end of year party at a hotel at like 1 am. The girl i was in love with left me. Then this song came on. I was just sat on a wall on the sea front before i went to town listening to this. It helped
The first time I watched submarine it was in a lecture, on silent with subtitles. It was good. Then I watched it a few weeks later with sound. It was amazing.
@whokilledcamilo i agree, the only similarity are well thought out lyrics, almost in a sociopolitical style, and the fact he finishes his bar, " hard to get around the wiiiiiind " ... and dylan says " wiiiinnd " as the ending of a bar in one of his most famous tracks, so possibly a subconscious linking, re-inforced with the knowledge they are both say playing guitar and singing deep lyrics .. that the only similarity , nothing vocal , which is the main part.. i mean,Alex is from Yorkshire! ffs
dylan is dylan, turner is turner, lennon is lennon - and what seperates them from the rest is their originality. so let's keep them as individuals and stop fucking comparing!!! brilliant song though!!
Every time I listen to this song a smile comes to my face.. I know that even if my life sucks, there will always be an "Alex Turner" to turn my mood out there... Thank you Alex :)
"Since he’s been writing songs, it seems like he’s always thinking about that. So even when he’s talking to you now, he’s thinking about the next thing that rhymes with that word. Even when he’s driving. We joke he’s a bad driver, his focus is never 100 per cent on what he’s doing. Which is good for us ‘cause that means he’s got another 12 songs up his sleeve. I think music must be the easiest way for him to be concise and get everything out. Otherwise his head would explode."
the first time i heard it... i was sitting alone in my car. looking behind red sweater yellow shirt by the way beautifull color. it was close almost chose. it was a near hit, my heart almost got hurt. walking away is in the past. forgetting is hard even now. i tried so many time i just can't. up in the air will take forever. the only way is to bury head on the ground................... you now what continue tomorrow ima sleep now and it was a reall good song great...

why half of the world compares someone with guitar to Dylan? that's a stupid thing

@TheStyxUKHH Dylan's greatest achievement is his songwriting, not his voice. So I guess that justifies the comparison if you think this holds up.

This song sounds a lot like Francis Cabrel's "Je l'aime à mourir"... Probably wasn't on purpose.
Great song nevertheless, I love Arctic Monkeys' stuff and all of Alex's stuff as well. This whole Submarine EP makes me want to see that movie.
