  • i have such thing too! its funny and nice, i also have some fans connected to the supply for fresh air in my face aaah.... and i first used a paerclip but i've made a switch so i dont have the search on the floor for powering :D try it!

  • how do you turn the power supply off then?

  • could you make something as to show or describe on how to get the power supply to stay on?

  • can you type a link for that pcmods site.. i need somewhat of directions on how to get this set up.. thats my next adventure..

  • So you have to short it out every time you want to use it ?

  • How did you hook theme up, could you send me the link of were you got them. if there modded could you do a video

  • They're standard sound reactive cold cathodes (check PCmods websites, part # lit-119) hooked up to a standard computer ATX power supply that's just sitting on the floor. See posts below on getting the power supply working. good luck!

  • Which ATX power supply did you end up using to power the cathodes?

  • It was just a regular computer ATX power supply (I think this one was 300W that I ripped from an old computer).

  • how can u have these externally? can u make a step guide please? or what supplies do u need? how do u power a power supply externally?

  • there are 2 pins on the ATX motherboard connector that you simply short that tells the power supply to be on. Then you just connect whatever you want to it. I do this all the time when I need 12VDC.

  • Yes, you need to short two pins on the ATX power supply connector to switch it on. Google ATX power supply pins, it's the first match, shows you which pins to short. Good luck!

  • Can you use a jumper?

  • I used a paper clip. Be careful, sometimes you'll get a spark.

  • is the light all ways blinking or can u keep it on all the time?

  • The controller can be set so that the lights are always on, sound reactive, or blinking. I usually leave it on sound reactive all the time.

  • plze answer my question! how do u power the cathodes externally?
