At this time, the name of the second song wasn't 'It's the Law', its called 'Justice for aall'... In 1988, when Prison Bound came out, they put this song on it, changed a little on the lyrics, and gave it the name 'It's the Law'
Anyone know why Derek O' Brien is an often overlooked drummer? Listen to him on The Creeps, Mass Hysteria or Anti-Fashion, Hour of Darkness - the guys a powerhouse! I saw S.D. twice but I think Derek was in D.I. fulltime by then.
Who I saw sooo many times - it seemed like D.I. played every gig
This reminds me of being at the Cathay de Grande! Thanks so much for this. I never thought I'd see this again. Amazing, I miss those days. I went to the premiere of Another State of Mind and was sitting right behind Mike Ness. This looks like footage from that movie.
mike could sure shred on guitar even though he was constantly wasted back then, or high on something else. thank god he cleaned up his act so social d could carry on and make albums just as legendary in later years. r.i.p. brent and dennis. dont ever forget them.
oh man these 3 song together i was in band with one of my best friends we played the creeps and then we had a song that was like had some of the same guitar as parts as justice for all , moral threat pretty much sum up how we meet some jock asshole beating up him and me getting into with the jock starting a riot then me and my pal mp a girlfriend running him down with vw bug hehe
I grew up with Brent Liles in Anaheim and saw/heard the genesis of SD when the band used his garage at times. I just recently found out Brent passed on. That really makes me sad. I understand there was a memorial at the Galaxy for him?
Brent was my roommate in Las Vegas in '96-'97. He wasn't in great shape back then, but was still in my mind a living legend, and very much the most prolific bassist spawned from the OC punk scene. Great guy.
Brent was the one in our group that was totally different. Fearless to be the best at what he did and he succeeded. Social D...Agent Orange...Brent will forever be a part of. Not to mention he was a pretty good skater. Brent is a part of you and I my friend. That we'll have forever.
I'd love to read some of your favorite memories regarding Brent. We had a band and I still consider it an honor that I shared a rehersal space w/ one of my heroes. It's nice to see so many others feel the way I do. I was worried that he'd been written off (at the time it seemed like he had been) by the scene. His contribution cannot be overstated. SD's MLM and Agent Orange's live album are both band's finest hour. Both had BL (Evil Knievel) on bass guitar. Coincidence, I think not...
"It's The Law" rules. The lyrics kick ass. "The deputy had a bad night. He couldn't get it up for his wife".

hes probably overlooked because this music was never huge
he quit before social d got real big and DI never really did anything
really no one listened to them enough for people to say "hot damn hes good"
he sure as hell is great though

Love "Moral Threat".. always have. To see it like this in the early days is wonderfull
louielogs 3 years ago
same goes for me. Moral threat has always been a song that set itself apart from the rest of that album. For me anyways.
xMoralxThreatx 2 years ago
it does set apart from the rest of the album completely. the whole album sounds dark, but moral threat sounds very dark.
and it sounds alot like maybe an agent orange song like living in darkness or last goodbye
