  • "It's The Law" rules. The lyrics kick ass. "The deputy had a bad night. He couldn't get it up for his wife".

  • the 2 ppl that disliked this deserve a slap 2 the face for the Moral Threat performance alone :) not trollin, jus' sayin :)

  • Too bad Mommy's Little Monster gets cut off at the end.

  • @kjaal I know! That was the first Social D song I've ever heard. It'd have been cool to hear it.

  • Derek O'brien is one of punk's mightiest drummers.. Along with The Damned's Rat Scabies and of course the awesome Chuck Biscuits!!

  • Brent and Dennis RIP.

Old School Social D for the motherfucking WIN.

  • mike ness is a great guitar player.

  • i uploaded a similar vid... if mike told me to kill a baby, i'd probably do it.

    allegiance to MIKE forever!

  • where does this video come from/ i would love this!

  • great video

  • At this time, the name of the second song wasn't 'It's the Law', its called 'Justice for aall'... In 1988, when Prison Bound came out, they put this song on it, changed a little on the lyrics, and gave it the name 'It's the Law'

  • @MicRidget dam right you tell them

  • @MicRidget they changed the solo as well... the solo mike is playing in the vid is not the same as the one on the Prison Bound Album...

  • r.i.p. brent lyles

  • Lude Boy from Hell Comes To Your House is another great one by the band and O'Brien in particular

  • Anyone know why Derek O' Brien is an often overlooked drummer? Listen to him on The Creeps, Mass Hysteria or Anti-Fashion, Hour of Darkness - the guys a powerhouse! I saw S.D. twice but I think Derek was in D.I. fulltime by then.

Who I saw sooo many times - it seemed like D.I. played every gig

  • hes probably overlooked because this music was never huge

he quit before social d got real big and DI never really did anything

really no one listened to them enough for people to say "hot damn hes good"

he sure as hell is great though

  • THANK YOU ! lmao

haha, hes my uncle so i know hes good :]

and he still plays just for smaller bands.

  • GREAT FOOTAGE!!!!!!

Love "Moral Threat".. always have. To see it like this in the early days is wonderfull

  • same goes for me. Moral threat has always been a song that set itself apart from the rest of that album. For me anyways.

  • it does set apart from the rest of the album completely. the whole album sounds dark, but moral threat sounds very dark.

and it sounds alot like maybe an agent orange song like living in darkness or last goodbye

  • wheres the c2nd part to this? it ends right when they get into mommys little monster, LAME!

  • This is some rare shit right here!! Thanks for posting it.

  • Wow, this is a real gem! Old school Social Distortion at their peak, couldn't ask for anything more!!

  • This reminds me of being at the Cathay de Grande! Thanks so much for this. I never thought I'd see this again. Amazing, I miss those days. I went to the premiere of Another State of Mind and was sitting right behind Mike Ness. This looks like footage from that movie.

  • mike could sure shred on guitar even though he was constantly wasted back then, or high on something else. thank god he cleaned up his act so social d could carry on and make albums just as legendary in later years. r.i.p. brent and dennis. dont ever forget them.

  • awesome video

  • RIP Dennis Dannell & Brent Lyles

  • I wasn't even born!

  • dennis was so damn cute.

  • the creeps...fuckin awesome

  • *bows*

this is godly, thanks for sharing!

  • Brent Liles the best bass player Social D ever had . RIP

  • Why is Emilio Esteves playing bass?

    I keed, I keed

  • Wow, still going strong. I am on my way to see SOCIAL D 2 night in NY. Sick boy after all these years!

  • He probably don't remember me (for good reason) but I once out-drank Mike Ness. A good time was had by all. Thanks for the memory.

  • go watch "Another State of Mind",or search the vid here from it,Mike does his hair and make-up it.

MIKE NESS IS A LIVING LEGEND.

  • Oi, anyone know how you put hair up like that? I know it has to be long, but how do you get it to stick straight up? Mine just curls around

  • geuss you werent around the punk scene in the 80s! plain gellitin(jello)

  • you prolly have to straigthen it first

  • hmmmmm im guessing gel like u get the gel and pull ur hair straight up

  • knox gel

  • there not dead

  • yes they are, dennis and the bass player(sorry don't want to disrespect him but i don't know his name)

  • but there in the adolecents

  • Mike Ness hair is fucking killer!=D

  • This is just fucking amazing. Love the energy. Sd best fucking punk band ever!!

  • Nice post!

  • awesome.I've got the video!!!

  • who is that on drums?

  • derek o'brien

  • @screechingunpowd wasnt he in agent orange ?

  • @availrvadgs that the same guy from DI

  • oh man these 3 song together i was in band with one of my best friends we played the creeps and then we had a song that was like had some of the same guitar as parts as justice for all , moral threat pretty much sum up how we meet some jock asshole beating up him and me getting into with the jock starting a riot then me and my pal mp a girlfriend running him down with vw bug hehe

  • Chuck is this you?

  • its not the real chuck but he on myspace the chuck dukowski 6

  • Aww man. It reminds me of playing in my own band in my garage 20 yrs later, playing their songs. I hope eventually end up 1/4 as good as Social D is.

  • THIS IS THE FUCKIN SHIT

  • too bad 2 out of the 4 dudes in this SD coverage are no longer alive.

life is a short mother f-er.

  • I grew up with Brent Liles in Anaheim and saw/heard the genesis of SD when the band used his garage at times. I just recently found out Brent passed on. That really makes me sad. I understand there was a memorial at the Galaxy for him?

  • Brent was my roommate in Las Vegas in '96-'97. He wasn't in great shape back then, but was still in my mind a living legend, and very much the most prolific bassist spawned from the OC punk scene. Great guy.

  • Brent was the one in our group that was totally different. Fearless to be the best at what he did and he succeeded. Social D...Agent Orange...Brent will forever be a part of. Not to mention he was a pretty good skater. Brent is a part of you and I my friend. That we'll have forever.

  • I'd love to read some of your favorite memories regarding Brent. We had a band and I still consider it an honor that I shared a rehersal space w/ one of my heroes. It's nice to see so many others feel the way I do. I was worried that he'd been written off (at the time it seemed like he had been) by the scene. His contribution cannot be overstated. SD's MLM and Agent Orange's live album are both band's finest hour. Both had BL (Evil Knievel) on bass guitar. Coincidence, I think not...
