That suit really makes him look like a woman. I think he regrets ever putting it on but it doesn't change the fact that this is a incredible album. Had it since it came out and I just got it on vinyl. I forgot how much I loved it. I do wish he would stop focusing on the kiddies so much. All of his fans aren't 12.

@TheLaysie I would refer you to his recent interview with Eddie Trunk on the TV show "That Metal Show" shown on VH1 classics. When the topic comes up, Manson clearly regrets having ever put on the suit. I think it reminded him of how much influence the record company had over his creative work in what they would allow him to do. He has expressed some joy at his recent departure from his last label. Now he is able to do more of what he wanted. Watch the interview. It's here on youtube.

its also a refference to cocaine , but this song is mostly about how the world is empty now ...people dont care for eachother anymore ....we are drained of our colour....

To me Mechanical Animals is his best work easily and yet so many people don't know this album from him.. it's a shame. Lyrically as well as musically this album goes sky high. Just listen to it, the amount of emotions in that album... BOOM!! I haven't listen to it in a while and again it takes a hold of me like it ten years ago.. this should have been his exposure to a bigger audience and yet most manson fans claim this is too soft, just b/c he doesn't say F*** as many times what's up with that?

@GodendtheDevil I think people you described in your comment are more into "badass" sound than some message hidden in the lyrics and music, that's why they don't appreciate this album. MA is my personal favourite and I think the lyrics are simply brilliant, truly an insight into our society and the way our world works and they are also rather personal. Badass guitar sounds are great but they fail to express many different emotions and MA is clearly emotional. But that's just my opinion. ;)

I saw Manson in concert in Houston taxes with the mechanical animals album. He sounds the same in concert as he does in person. His performances are out of this world.
