There is something to be said about, Kung Fu comes from the person within and in this way will not be his teacher. Any style and teacher brings out that inner person and forms it like water in glass cup. Might or might not make sense to people.
I believe he made a mistake at 0:30 when his head touched the ground. If I'm not mistaken I believe you are to keep your body parallel to the ground but keep your head off the ground. At least that's what I've seen from all the other styles of Drunken including the one I practice which is the 8 Immortals Style.
firstly thank you shifu for putting this on, secondly thank you for the comments This form is actually a shaolin based style adapted by Yuan shifu Drunken styles are generaly practised by modern martial artists to gain a greater awarness of thier center of balance thus enableling greater control/awarness of all movement Only a very experienced 'drunken' practitioner will be able to use purely this style in combat 1 and a half years later and I still have a long way to go I will post a new 1 soon
Drunken fist is one of the most important arts to learning the diffrent range of irregular moves. And he performed it excellently, so once again, well done :)
I'm new to martial arts I am trying to understand so can someone please explain to me so in chinese martial art there are two diffrent sets? Shaolin and Wudang? Are there more ???
Shaolin and Wudang are the two major styles from chinesse martial arts. All the other styles...chan quan; nan quan etc comes aither from Shaolin or Wudang. In chinese martial arts there is a saying: "In the North respects are paid to Shaolin KungFu; yet in the Sout honor should be givven to Wudang Kungfu"
I practice Shaolin and Wudang myself and I can guarantee you that the majority of western student who practice Wudang, often "shine" in no time as in the above clip - unlike those who practice Shaolin or other arts. Thats to say, Wudang masters don't fuck around!
Very focused and controlled. Grown into a more organic personality, Sam could become quite good at this style. Zronin, when's the last time you've seen a fast and fluid drunk? That said, drunken style martial artists can be fast, but the advantage of drunken style is much like ninjitsu in that both are designed to hide and confuse their opponent in different ways until an opening is made for a powerful attack.
did it cross your mind that his aim might not be to fight in any situation in 15 days? His form should be judged for what it is, and he's obviously put alot of hard training into it, so why not credit where credits due? I say keep it up Sam, and best of luck in achieving YOUR goals.
I love how the thumbnail for this video is him passed out on the ground lol

the goal is not to fight. This is not a fighting set. It is a performance set, taken from the standardized drunkenfist in contemporary wu-shu.
