@MilkMaidRum There was even an episode where, at the end of a fight, Robin got knocked into something gooey (I think it was a cake?) and when he lifted his head his mask came partially off. I don't think that was intentional. But in the following scene, he's in a trap and his mask is back in place. Hey, that's why it's called camp, right?

@Jeff98177 It was clay, and yes, his mask is not only back in place, it's also cleaned off. If only the Joker had cut Robin's mask in half while he was still face down-would have been a great cliffhanger with boy wonder escaping from Joker's sticky clay, only 2 unmask himself.

It's my understanding that "Batman" was originally going to have been an hour show, with the "cliffhanger" being resolved over a station break instead of 23 1/2 hours later.

I wonder if the original hour-long version of the pilot exists. It probably doesn't have the recap at the beginning of Part 2, and I suspect William Dozier's narration mid-way through the show was different , urging viewers to "Stay Tuned After Bat-Station Identification!".
