  • cool !! keep safe god bless

  • People dont fucking get climate change and they say it's fake. It's total bull shit.

  • WIKILEAKS cables reveal how US manipulated climate accord...

  • great. lets work

  • @bryceh12321 Do people even try to question those who say capitalism is the end of history, that the world is an infinite rescource and an infinite garbage can? Do people ever question those who deny evidence showing worse pollution, waste, and disrespect to the environment...Or perhaps overwhelming scientific consensus that global climatic rise in temperature is in fact occuring, and is related to CO2 released from human industry?

Or do these questions never trouble your brainwashed mind?

  • Do not fall for this fraudulent religion known as cimate change/global warming. The AGW religion is really about socialist wealth redistribution that the two high priests Al Gore and David Suzuki are trying to implement through carbon taxes. Thank God for the CRU email hack which unveiled the truth to the world. Don't let your politicians sign any treaties. You must resist.

  • climate change is a fucking fraud just like most of the shit they try and scare us with, its all ball shit just to help bring in the one world government, that has is and will always be there plan untill it is complete, climate change is real in the sense that the climate is always changing but it has been changing throughout history so why are they so worried about it know, it seems to be getting colder over the last few years anyway so i think it is more global cooling than global warming

  • @pinball281 this video is titled climate CHANGE. there's vast fluctuations and strange patterns in the weather. climate change and global warming are two different theories often placed in the same context. I'm not saying you have an invalid belief, but mixing the two theories is illogical.

  • There is no Santa Claus, Right vs Left, Easter Bunny or Global Warming

Not addressing the #1 factor for Environmental degradation, wildlife declines, & GHG production means its a fraud & a fail

Having Railroad Engineers, lunatics, & economists as climate experts means its a pseudo-science

    Global Warming=fraud, fail, & pseudo-science

  • "Things are much worse than the models predicted."

The world's oceans have risen by about an inch and a half.

Droughts and wildfires have turned more severe worldwide, from the U.S. West to Australia to the Sahel desert of North Africa.

Warming's impacts sped up, worsened since Kyoto

By SETH BORENSTEIN (AP) Nov22, 2009

  • they all want some climate money

  • HELL YEAH its always about MONEY and CONTROL.. ANd its so funny that is just what they are ASKING for...

  • For most of earths history there were no ice caps, it was much warmer than it is today. Indeed earth is still recovering from an ice age and we should expect warming from this. Non-AGW proponents and weather forecasters predict cooling to occur over the next 100 years.

  • @PonguigPeopinn not at these rates.

  • Why would the government lie to us about Climate Change? What is there to gain from it?

  • If you don't know the answer to that one then you have been living under a rock for most of your life. AGW is a falsehood, read: Global climate science, uncertainty & politics.

  • world didnt give a shit when i wanted peace instead of war, so climate change can fuck off too

  • see all thoes big buildings in the video clip...and all thoes big heated and lighted conference rooms and all thoes big assed chimneys....i dont own one of them...not one.....so how many lights have i gotta turn off in my house to save the world...?...fuck off

  • See all these people killing each other around the world? I should I not kill also? See all these people stilling why not me also to get rich?... that the problem with people they think like sheep, and consider them self as insignificant to make a difference as a sheep is among others.

If people pressure their governments they can also turn off some of the big companies lights, but if they simply say others do the same then there is nothing to do.

  • dude...if ur washing machine is leaking, dont matter how many times u mop the floor...its still gonna leak...

its all cause and effect dude...they are the cause and they tell us to clean up the effects...thats hypocrisy at its finest....the sheep are ones who think thay they themselfs are to blame, that way they are easily led...

  • you my friend are so conditioned that now you seek to self police others...im a human being, i know right from wrong and i see this as wrong..i dont need u or them tellin me shit...thats what makes me human..

  • climate change is natural not man made...this is just an evolved version of the angry sun god that they used to tell the small minded ignorant tribs people that didnt know anything else..the sun didnt disapear because the god was angry, it was an eclipse..the world isnt warming up cuz my T.V is left on standby over night...its natural...what the hell do u think happend to the ice age...

  • CLIMATE CHANGE WILL HAPPEN AND YOU CANNOT STOP IT!!!

climate change happens naturally all the time, were just speeding it up which i consider to be a good thing so its out of the way!!!

do you really think you csan stop it, the world is heading for an ecological disarster like it has a million times befire, and the sad goverment is triking you all into beleving were the only sorce of it and that we can stop it well im here to tell you WE CANT!!!

  • New Scientist Oct 2nd 2008: THe world has been cooling since 2005: Go out doors!

  • The weather changes. Always has done, since before man even evolved! GW was invented by nuclear power.

  • The world has been cooling since 2005. That is real data.

  • 'Climate change is real' I have to agree, yesterday was nice and sunny and today it's bloody pissing it down...we must stop this madness.

  • I am a PhD sceintist, who studied GW as his PhD. It is going to kill you! I am trying to save your life! Beat me up about this! I do not spam, I try to tell the world my ideas.

  • The wordl has been cooling sicne 2005: Get over it.

  • Jonathan is a retarded SPAM machine.

  • then you should work for nasa. its obvious your smarter then they are....

  • AGee SauceMystery, are going to reply to every video about global warming with this same argument? Evidently you are.

For those who think that the world is cooling, the polar ice caps are melting. Does ice melt in hotter or colder climates?

  • where making go faster. how foolish to think we cant effect the earth.. were trashing the oceans.

  • @Raksaht I live in Canada, it aint warming, if the caps are melting, why isnt the northwest passage open without a fucking great icebreaker? only in the summer months if you are lucky, winter forget it even with a breaker.

So one year on and still we have icecaps, funny huh! next year and the one after that will show even MORE fuckin ice, when will you all just STFU and whine about smokers instead

  • I think that it is about time that the cities in the u.s.a. started to help in the fight against global warming. george bush can go f*** himself. i dont care if he is the president of the whole damn world. who is he to decide or try to convince other mojor polluting counties to not join the kyoto accord. if something is not done soon about the ammount of pollutants entering the atmosphere it will be our children and childrens children that will have to deal with the problems we leave behind

  • bush is a fk. up......from the start to the end...

  • who cares who pulled the trigger, are you gonna stand there and let it hit you?

  • High pressure water or steam? Nuclear fusion only happens in very hot places such as the sun. To gain power from the fusion proces, we even need to have temperatures 10 times as hot as the sun.

  • Scientists who where honest about climate change where surpressed by the Bush administration. Reports saying that it is sure that climate change will lead to big disasters where changed by not scientists into: "there is a small change that climate change will lead to a disaster." Financial support was stopped for much projects because they had another theory about GW then the bush administration had. And so on. Exxon paid people to lie about GW. That are true facts...

    Think about that.

  • Wrong on every count....

There is a 100% chance that the earth has been warming and the trend since 1998 remains upward.

    Read actual debate on easternUSWXdotcom

  • The War on Terror still seems to get a bit more coverage than Climate Change. Terrorism is a real problem but in the Noughties, extreme weather has killed many more people than terrorism, so really it is a more pressing issue. Perhaps terror is more shocking as its human intentions are much more direct.

  • I agree, US has terrorism problem to eradicate, then climatic problem can be disccused. it isnt like making a choice between apples or oranger

  • dumbass yankees y are they not joining the fight on global warning they shud join in they got the money they make most of this carbon dixidoe lol

  • "In searching for a new enemy to unite us we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like, would fit the bill." -- Club of Rome members Alexander King and Bertrand Schneider in their book 'The First Global Revolution".

  • Great information.

It's strange how detractors of climate change try to use scientific evidence to counter scientific evidence.

Most likely the same folks who said smoking cigarettes don't cause cancer, and fat doesn't make you fat.

    DOH!

  • to much can hurt us . also we are running short of oil

  • Thanks for that AngeAzrael. While the sun is clearly the source of the initial radiation captured in the earth's atmosphere through its GHGs, I thought most peer-reviewed scientific research on changes in solar radiation/intensity over the 20th C suggested this did not provide great explanatory power for most of the change in climate. But as I am just a casual observer, I would appreciate pointers to the key research. Thx.

  • Part 1: This interesting and important debate seems to have become less focussed on the issue recently, and I wondered if it might be possible to take a step back and agree on the following foundations:

    - The atmosphere is nearly 78% nitrogen, a bit under 21% oxygen, 0.0383% CO2, plus other gases incl. water vapour (1% give or take)

    - However, most atmospheric gases make no contribution to the earth's greenhouse effect

  • Part 2:- Easily the most important GHG is water vapour. However, in terms of impact, CO2 is a more effective contributor to the GHG effect than its proportionate volume of our atmosphere would suggest.

    - While water vapour appears to be responsible for 35-40% of the GHG effect, scientific tests indicate that CO2 probably accounts for at least 9% due to its molecular response to parts of the infra-red radiation spectrum

  • Part 3:- Overall, the total combined effect of greehouse gases results in an average global temperature of around 15 degrees C, or about 34 degrees C more than if there was no GHG effect at all.

Perhaps this might provide a useful framework for re-establishing this thread's debate focus?

  • Part 4: If you guys agree, then AngeAzrael, SoClimateChange and others might perhaps like to provide a synopsis of their strongly argued positions for those of us who are avidly interested in this debate.

    Here's hoping anyway. Thanks.

  • I was not "given" a PhD. I earned it by defending my work to experts whose opinions of it matter far more than yours.

  • Thank you for those sources. I find it interesting how you criticized the IPCC and their 4th assessment report and saying how they're being funded to spread propaganda on global warming even though 3 of your sources are professors from the IPCC. So now are you being selective on who to pick?

  • Do you know the science of the greenhouse effect?

  • Adding more of a greenhouse gas to the atmosphere intensifies the greenhouse effect, thus warming Earth's climate. The amount of warming depends on various feedback mechanisms. For example, as the atmosphere warms due to rising levels of greenhouse gases, its concentration of water vapor increases, further intensifying the greenhouse effect. This in turn causes more warming.

  • I fear we are fighting a losing battle with this one. His stupidity appears to be surpassed only by his bad manners. *shrugs*

I look forward to corresponding with you sometime!

  • Since when did I say that the sun isn't causing any temperature change on Earth? I stated before that the radiative forcing of solar irradiance is very small as compared to the radiative forcing from LLGHGs. Solar irradiance = .2 watts per square meter as compared to 2.7 watts per square meter from LLGHGs.

  • And you are a fool. I don't argue with fools.

  • I have a decent brain, am a PhD in Environmental Science, and I agree with the overwhelming majority of my colleagues who have drawn accurate conclusions based on their own research and that of our compatriots in other related fields.

There are those among us who draw their own conclusions, and many who are simply dead wrong. You would be advised to study the scientific method before drawing favor to an hypothesis without first examining all valuable evidence.

  • "Not the opposite." That conclusion is wrong. The fact that increased temperatures cause additional "natural emissions" only compounds the problem, it does not negate it.

Greenhouse gases cause global temperatures to rise, increased temperatures cause additional greenhouse gases to be released. That is the concensus drawn from the evidence, and based on these facts your conclusion is not correct. In fact, the opposite is correct.

  • I can say the same thing about what you know about this whole issue since it promotes the propaganda that humans aren't responsible for global warming, but I wouldn't say that because that would mean I'm closed-minded and unwilling to listen and try to understand and learn where the other side is coming from. But I am very much willing to learn other theories, but I would need the sources you're learning your information from and bring them forth to the SOCC for further research.

  • Can you find those sources and post them up please and indicate where you're getting your information from? I still haven't seen them on these pages yet. Thank you. I will look at this page again tomorrow.

  • Again, I would have to research your findings to fully understand where you're coming from because from what I've researched, what you're stating isn't in agreement with results.

  • From the research that I've done, I do understand how solar irradiance affects the climate change, but it is not what you claim to be. I would need to research what you've researched from the scientists to further help me understand where you are coming from because you're not giving me any convincing evidence that solar output is currently causing our warming.

  • I hope you do know that there was an extensive report done by the Union of Concerned Scientists on ExxonMobil and its contributions to many scientific institutions and for reasons why. Funding isn't just to those who make "propaganda" about CO2... which I don't understand why you aren't saying anything about CH4, N20, and the halocarbons that are also LLGHGs... but also to what the scientific community call "skeptics".

  • I infer that you are closed minded on this whole issue as you attack my knowledge of this issue and you don't state how much you know. I do know that solar variations, volcanic eruptions, anthropogenic changes in atmospheric composition, clouds, atmospheric and oceanic circulations, latent heat, mid-latitude westerly winds, wave patterns, changes in size of ice sheets, type and distribution of vegetation, Milankovitch cycles, and much more contribute to climate.

  • Can you find the sources please? Please leave the comment on my channel and I will have the organization research their results and see how they correlate with other research studies relating to the same subject. As a member of SOCC, I dedicate myself to learning the different theories from both sides of the debate... not just one side. Probably the most important issue in all of these studies is who the people or groups are, where their funding is coming from, and their background and history.

  • No need to degrade the credentials of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's AR4...

Exactly how is CO2 a consequence of climate change and not ONE of the causes of climate change?

  • So... no sources? Last time I looked, the World Meteorological Organization that consists of scientists from 189 countries actually consist of "real scientists". I do believe you understand how complex the science of climate change is.

  • Oh I know there is life under the surface of oceans, I was wondering if you know how large of an impact carbon emitters have on the environment as compared to the amount of carbon uptake by the oceanic plant life.

  • From my understanding, the increase in atmospheric CO2 causes additional CO2 to dissolve in the ocean. Changes in temperature and salinity affect the solubility and chemical equilibration of gases. The combined physical and biogeochemical changes also affect biological activity, with further consequences for the biogeochemical cycles. The change in chemical equilibrium causes a reduction of the capacity of the ocean to take up additional CO2.

  • May I ask what in the oceans contributes to the releasing of carbon dioxide?

  • May I ask where you are receiving your data from? I'm receiving my data from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, National Academy of Sciences, World Meteorological Organization, Environmental Protection Agency, NASA, and other sources.

  • CO2 has increased from fossil fuel use in transportation, building heating and cooling, and the manufacture of cement and other goods. Deforestation releases CO2 and reduces its uptake by plants. Carbon dioxide is also released in natural processes such as the decay of plant matter. The largest known contribution comes from the burning of fossil fuels.

  • The differences in radiative forcing estimates between the present day and the start of the industrial era for solar irradiance changes and volcanoes are both very small compared to the differences in radiative forcing estimated to have resulted from human activities. As a result, in today's atmosphere, the radiative forcing from human activities is much more important for current and future climate change than the estimated radiative forcing from changes in natural processes.

  • Sun activity is responsible for climate change.

The Kyoto agreement excludes India & China - the 2 fastest growing polluters. China will be the world's worst polluter in a couple of years.

  • The radiative forcing (the influence of a factor that can cause climate change) of solar irradiance in watts per square meter is .15-.2 compared to the LLGHGs (Long-lived greenhouse gases)'s radiative forcing of approximately 2.5 watts per square meter. Solar output does have an influence on climate change, but it is very small compared to anthropogenic contributions.

  • Wow Irpwny, did I hit a nerve?

    I repeat, Science doesn't rest on its misconceptions (but the public does) it tests, is open to new understanding. T. Stocker, Univ. of Bern, Switzerland;

"CO2 is about 30% higher than ever, methane 130% higher; the RATES OF INCREASE are absolutely exceptional: for CO2, 200 times faster than at any time in the last 650,000 years." Perhaps changes are due not only to us, but also the decimation of forests which once removed natures CO2 as well as our own.

  • irpwny, the consensus opinion among climatologists--as opposed to amateurs--is that as far back as we can reliably measure, the climate has not been warmer than today. (It may have been in the late Permian, but--oh yes--that caused rather a large mass extinction event).

  • jolow: tsk tsk, appealing to the majority now, eh?

It was once consensus among scientists that phlogiston was fire, blacks were inferior, and women of sub-par intelligence because of their 'cranial petiteness.'

    What a shame.

Not to mention, the world has risen by 1.3 degrees in the last 100 years, and even then by only .6 degrees from the "zero-norm."

Do the math, and stop it with the doomsday prophecies :)

  • Appealing to the majority of climate SCIENTISTS is not the same as appealing to the majority of people. Fortunately, science does not rest on its misconceptions, but tests continuously, thus the evolution in opinions you mention. They are doing my math for me. Global warming is subtle, it is slow, it is sneaky, we don't know exactly what will happen because of it, but we have some idea. Doing whatever we can to prevent it is the only conservative thing to do.

  • jolow: "Appealing to the majority of climate SCIENTISTS is not the same as appealing to the majority of people."

Ah yes, typing blindly and not reading a word: It was once consensus among scientists that phlogiston was fire, blacks were inferior to whites, and women were of sub-par intelligence because of their 'cranial petiteness.'

But we know those things aren't true, don't we?

    ..continued

  • jolow: ...continued

    "but tests continuously"

Wasn't it Kuhn who said scientific paradigms allow only a foundation of claims (that are uncontested) to rule the activity of science?

    ...continued

  • jolow: ..continued

Not to mention Carnot's work in thermodynamics: he believed heat to be a fluid, and because the flow of fluids are similar enough to the transfer of kinetic energy in molecules his mistake was barely caught.

Might want to check in on the philosophy of science. You'll be quite surprised at what epistemic claims we're allowed to make.

Not to mention: you've yet to address the fact that 1.5 percent of the world's C02 is man made.

  • jolow: I'm sorry to have to point this out to you:

"science does not rest on its misconceptions...thus the evolution in opinions you mentioned"

You've shot yourself in the foot: science of 400 years ago, and even 100 years ago, believed itself to have been ridden of all fallacies and misconceptions. Don't make the mistake of believing in the infallibility of modern science, just like so many ancients did.

  • Jon, Even if the current climate trend is not completely caused by humans alone (sunspots, etc...) increased CO2 emissions by humans are not helping: if the current trend in warming was started by sunspots, it has been exacerbated and prolonged by human recklessness (no significant sunspot increase in the last 20 yrs, yet the globe continues to warm, according to Zurich Institute and others).

  • jolow: "yet the glob continues to warm"

Hmm..last I checked, over the last 100 years "the world has warmed by 1 degree Farenheit."

    How tragic.

Not to mention the world alone produces 30 times the amount of CO2 we do, and the oceans and forests absorb half of what we put out. That puts human behavior in the range of responsibility for CO2 emissions at 1.5 percent doesn't it?

  • Greetings fellow Youtubers!

Please check out my short video: This Is The Earth On Carbon -- A climate Change Demonstration...

  • "In searching for a new enemy to unite us we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like, would fit the bill." -- Club of Rome members Alexander King and Bertrand Schneider in their book "The First Global Revolution

  • At least California is taking it seriously. Arnie is proof you can solve the problem and still hate hippies.

  • Global Warming is a religion!

  • Enron financed Kyoto -- because they care.

  • Peter Sciaky, a geologist, writes:

"I do not know one geologist who believes that global warming is not taking place. I do not know a single geologist who believes that it is a man-made phenomenon."

  • it saddens me that Al Gore's words continue to get so much weight. science is all about staying current -- as it pertains to this issue, we much watch for data which correlates to climate change. co2 levels do correlate. but when we find out that there are better correlates to temperature (cloud cover as affected by cosmic rays), and that co2 has historically changed AFTER, not before co2, we should be wary of the alarmism we're seeing

  • do you even know what the words combustion and vegetation mean ? forget it, I guess we're doomed.

  • Some people still deny the holocaust ever happened too, but my Great Granddad escaped from Dachau after losing most of his family. You can deny the holocaust and global climate change all you want but God told us to be good stewards of this Earth, and to watch over his creations. I intend on listening.

  • If you quote what God says--He also said very plainly that this world is set for destruction and that it wasn't made to last--We have only been here for but a short time- it terms of how old things are

  • the moon landing was fake to and baseball is gay.

  • CLIMATE CHANGE IS FAKE

  • by the way, ride a bicycle and learn some extra skills and use it, its fun. Until you feel pain, but its better then being dead in a car accident.

  • I dont know why some people seem to be only stuck on CO2 but open your eyes, its alot more then CO2, think of all the crap in pesticides that people spray on the lawn then children play on it or we breathe in the air from the funky smelling green lawn with no weeds, then drink the water that goes into the water table from the grass/lawn. And allowing all this crap to be made in our cities and regions

  • Anyone see the prices of wheat, corn, cattle and everything to do with bio diesel. They are burning food for us to drive in cars. milk will be more expensive cuz the cattle farmers will have to pay more to feed the cattle. look at the index for all these such as grain, corn Commodity Prices, they are hitting highs basically everyday. burn the food while people starve and i have to pay twice as much for steak and cereal. Watch the price of farmland skyrocket, buy a farm while you still can.

  • all bullshit-- there aren't any changes in aour climate that already occurred a many times before

If we followed the Kyoto protocall -- millions will starve and die-- stopping progress causes death--

  • Correct, the temperature of the earth has altered throughout history but never this rapidly before. And only because of increased sun activity not because of the burning of fossil fuels which is causing it now. People will only starve if the earth heats up causing droughts and making it harder to grow crops.

  • a warmer earth won't cause droughts-- and would make more land able to produce crops--

  • That's not really true. It actually causes certain areas to be inundated with too much rain while warmer temperatures leach moisture out of the soil quicker from other places. It's beginning in countries like Chad and you can see it in An Inconvenient Truth.

  • Richard: Correction, we're only able to "estimate" what temperatures were based on tree, fossilized, soil, etc. evidence.

And where are most temperature readings taken? In cities? Over pavement? Or in the forests and deserts of every country?

As for droughts: you're under the misconception that the rain will be sucked from wetlands and given over to deserts or disappear completely. All that will happen is climates will move northward. What is now frigid and cool Canada will be midwest US.

  • Yes, let us all give all of our money to Al Gore and The UN. They will protect us from the evil climate!

  • ALL of our money! climate is BAD!

  • Environmentalists need to lead by example and practice WHAT THEY PREACH!

  • people need to lead by example, bio powered homes

are quite efficiant, earth shelter dwellings that

take more money to build, payoff later...

  • Al Gore uses 12 times the average energy in his own home, so even he doesn't really belive this CO2 thing. All the evironmentalists fly absolutly everywhere. i think it isn't about the climate, more about making lots and lots of cash!

  • well you sir are an idiot, wheres your proof?

  • Tennessee Center for Policy Research, google tennesseepolicy, it has been international news so its neutrality cannot be questioned. It has been well known t
