  • For those who wonder, you can't play it in fullscreen with 1:1 pixel on anything below a 040/40MHz. I've tried it. With that CPU or a 060 it works fine.

    Great game!

  • I still have this game somewhere, i loved this game, played it allot of time on my Amiga 1200 back in the time, looks very good for that time, was only hard, good old times :-)

  • The ingame music to this was A GRADE perfection!!! LOVE IT!!!

  • The intro music is amazing :]

  • Neither played Crisis with a Pentium 133 nor Breathless with an A 1200 including no extensions . But on my A1200 040 40 with 32 MB Ram it is really smooth on fullsize .

Nevertheless all Amigas are great computers for games like Sensi , Chaos or Skid 2 especially for two players even nowadays .

Tribute to Jay Miner for a great machine which led me through my childhood .

  • I used to play it on an Apollo 030 50mhz, and it worked nice with a medium size screen. Actually on my 040 33mhz works very decent with almost full screen. However i don't know what kind of configuration is running this... So choppy... Maybe a 020 28mhz? or just EC020 with some ram?

  • It was recorded using the Amiga Emulator WinUAE. It runs really slow when you are saving to video.

  • I used to play this game on my A1200 With 8Mb of RAM and a 030/50 and it was no way as smooth as today FPS but surely faster than this video is showing.

Ah and I played wit 1:1 pixels at full screen.

  • Breathless.... what testament!

Yes, in the video is slow, but you can reduce the window dimension, so the game moves faster.

    P.s.

    The music.... THE MUSIC!!!

Old school.... 2channels ".MOD".... I love it!!!

  • even on my blizzard 1230 this game was sloooooooow, had to run it in a small window to get a decent frame rate...:(

  • The game runs quite fast in the Amiga Emulator until you output to video at which point it starts to run very very slow. Bear in mind that this game is one of the most advanced Amiga games ever.

  • I actually played the game properly with a 040 25mhz processor and a slightly reduced screen size. 15 fps or so

  • On a Amiga with 060 and cyberstorm patch this game was smooth.. had so many nice levels and

    monsters :)

So does testament, alien breed 3d 1 and 2,

    gloom, Trapped 1 and 2 .. :)

  • Read my comments on the Speedball - ste of art demo about how Mhz and MIPS are not the actual measures of CPU speed.

  • Runs about as well as Crysis lol

  • the game looked great for its time well it still looks good. there should have been mouse and keyboard suppot would have made the game so much better.

  • I used to play this with my A1200 but the processor was still slow 40mhz or something it was :)

  • It was better then any 3D game on the PC at that time.. But processor was to slow .. :)

  • Yeah I agree mate, it looks good, sounds good (love that ingame tune there, sounds like it could've been written by Tangerine Dream), but like you say TOO SLOW. The Amiga was never meant to do games like this, the best games for me were ALWAYS, platformers, shoot 'em ups, & point 'n click adventures. Oh yeah, & the classic pinballers, of which there were/are many, Slam Tilt on the 1200 probably being the best. Happy days!

  • @Ironlord2015 On an 030/50 i could run the game close to full screen and it was as smooth as silk but without an accelerated Amiga it was not really worth playing. I totally agree that the Amiga was not suited to this kind of game but with that acceleration it could handle it quite well just as the PC when it was accelerated more could handle 2D games much better.
