i think you need to put the k-2 on the floor, so people don't think you're doing something with it to make the lights go on , and put some more in with some EVPs . thanks Dusty TAPS GH ..
While that does help, the fact also is the K2 is very sensetive to radio interference such as walkie talkies and cell phones. All of which can easliy give a false positive result.
While that may (haven't tried it) by pass the button problem, the issue still is the K2 in our experience has NOT been effective in detecting paranormal activity at all, muchless been able to "train" a ghost to flash the lights in response to specific questions.
The KII EMF Safety Meter is known to produce "erroneous" errors due to the momentary contact switch. Bad practices like that seen on Ghost Hunters(TAPS) is such when they shove a nickel in the switch to keep it on. This can damage the switch causing erratic contact with spontaneous lighting.
The Psyleron REG-1 Field kit as seen on A&E's Paranormal State is a much more scientific instrument not prone to errors.
The claimed point of the K2 is that you can "train" a ghost to respond by making the lights flash. Otherwise there are several other EMF meters of good value as well.
K2 meters with an on/off switch are more believable...when you use the ones that you have to hold down a button, there's always that possibility of your thumb relaxing and making the lights blink...with a switch, this doesn't happen and you can set in on a table far away from you. If you get a K-2 get one with a switch!
I had to add this to my favorite and subscribe. Hope you don't mind, I also requested for you to be on my friend's list. This is a great video and I am looking into purchasing a K2 Meters myself. I'm just doing a research before I do purchase one. After this video, I will be buying one.
The K2 Is great for Ghost hunting and I never got spikes until I got this one. The range is better then most EMF meters although the push button is not very good putting a penny in the push button slot solves that problem of getting false readings.
The K2 will definately pick up EMF frequencies others won't but that doesn't necessarily mean it's better. If you take it apart it's actually a very simple circut board inside.
I have a K2 and modified it. It picks up electrical spikes. A great example is static electricity. if you say take clothing out of a dryer and pull it apart, some of you know in the dark you can see it giving off electricity. Same time that happens, the meter will jump. It is a simple yet inexpensive EMF detector. It is great for people who are just getting into research. If you go further get a trifield meter. I paid almost $200.00 for mine, but I am in this for life.
Different models and brands of EMF meters pick up different frequencies. We've seen a metere such as the K2 be flat while an EMF Enzone or digital EMF is active. And visa-versa. No one meter is ideal.
That's one of the things that helps Long Island Paranormal Investigators stand out - the wide variety of equipment we own and use on investigations. Gives us better coverage of more possibilities.
Do you use seperate illumination for your IR? I have a filter I use along with seperate illumination to discard alot of false anomallies, especially orbs. I want to be careful of how many mechanical instruments I use at once as you will probably agree, they to tend to interact and cause problems when used too close to each other. I am very particular what I do choose to use for investigations and I have to weigh the consequenses of false anomalies due to interferance with the equipment I may use
I saw this EMF meter being used by TAPS on the Manson Murder episode. Have to say it looks pretty impressive but, are we sure that it can't be subconsciously manipulated as, correct me if I'm wrong (and I have yet to use one), don't you need to press a button down to operate the K-2? Almost like the Ouija/table tipping theory of user-bias/control etc. Just a thought...
I just recently purchased one of these meters and from my experience with it, the on/off pressure switch seems to be sensitive and will cause the light to jump as demonstrated if any subtle change in pressure occurs. There are some modified meters sold on ebay which have actual on/off switches and not the pressure switch which in my opinion is a poor design to begin with but the meter was intended to be used for momentary readings and not for constant EMF scanning.
The use of the K2 for ITC is sort of skewed. The method pioneered by Chris Fleming is the same that is used by Patrick Burns has nothing to do with electromagnetic field changes. Its simply supposed to be the entity effecting the pressures of your thumb on the button to receieve the test signal lights as a response. I think it has been unintentionally misinterpreted by everyone since the TAPS episode that aired.
Well, I'll rephrase. It's fine for those who aren't very objective. I more than likely will never use it for ITC or buy into the results of a session with it without some other corroborating information.
When I was at Stanley with Patrick, we all were in the Manor house, he was using the K-II meter with excellent results. It surprised me, as I was skeptical.

remove the button from the board and short circuit the 2 contacts, then place a switch between the battery and battery contact.

It's just one of many tools. No better or worse.

is the cellsensor good also?

It's a different type of EMF meter. Covers a different range of EMF frequencies. We use both.

I agree 100% I still don't have an ELF meter or a DC trifield meter

We have external IR illuminators connected to our handheld cameras. Take a look at our website under Equioment.

Seems it would be extremely hard to prove it was an entity moving your thumb and not the person him/herself moving their thumb.

Exactly... and thats why it shouldn't be used.
