I remember back when I was in the 3rd grade, I got lice for the first time so I didn't know what it was. One day I was at my friends house and my head itched, I ended up scratching out a lice bug, still not knowing what it was, I rubbed the bug onto my friends shoulder when he wasn't looking. Sure enough a week later his mom called my mom to tell her he got lice.

After that I never sat on that classroom carpet ever again.

@DatEnigmatic It is not that they "like" hair, it just so happens that those that survived were the one's that found the head. The hairs themselves allow for an anchor for the eggs of the lice anyways, and, over time, these eggs have been greatly improved to allow for stronger anchoring on the hair. The lice too find have been modified so that they tend to grip hair really well. The hairy areas of our body tend to be the some of the warmest too. Crabs are simply pubic lice.

and head and shoulders won't do a thing to get rid of head lice. you need special insecticide shampoo
