How to make the skeleton disappear:

1. Go to the bridge room, in order to show him for the first time.

2. Go back and follow the upward tiles. There is an opening.

3. In that room you will see an energy potion. Go there (it's not necessary to drink it).

4. Go down to the bridge room again and voila! The skeleton is gone!

Now you have to be really fast and careful when jumping towards and through that door.

I have managed to jump through him but it's extremely difficult.

Also, it is very easy to make him disappear but then the door closes in a very short time (on its own - I still wonder who pressed the button), so you need to run and jump fast.

Yes, it's not a "trick", that's the conventional way of doing it.

This part pretty much ruined my favourite childhood game. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't pass it (and back in the 90's it was hard if not impossible to get your hands on a FAQ or guide.)

Even with your guide I can't seem to get it. That part is insanely hard. Either I die from the falling bridge which is unpredictable or the skeleton kills me first.
