Well he's in T6, so I can assume that he learned to do this by farming for hearts. I know back in the day my guild used to farm hearts this way. You needed the raid to have a lot of shadow resist in order to get past mother sharaz. Back then hearts of darkness sold for 1500-2000g+ as well and epic gems for 500g each. It was more then worth it to do this. Not to mention guilds had to do it to get the shadow resist.

That shield was called "Shadow Guard" if i remember right. That was troll priests racial shield, who damages enemy with shadow damage when they hit priest. Kinda thorn like. Too bad that all priest racials were removed from game or globalized to all priests.
