i agree my blackberry bold also faces the similar problems. Even my old Motorola Krzr did better and it's been since 2007. It crashes alot, the trackball gets very dirty easily which can get stuck. The earpiece sound does not work properly and the delete button is too close to the enter that i accidentally hit enter instead of delete which i wasted my text to my old friend. All i can say i need or want a new phone that doesn't suffer much.

I bought the 9700 when it first came out and even that was a complete piece of shit and at the time it was suppose to have been the best of the best of the Blackberry phones back then. I do like Apple products as I have an iPod and a 2011 Feb Macbook Pro so I might buy an iPhone or a good Andriod phone.
No matter what way you look at it BB's don't compare to Iphone or the Highend Androids. I have new BB every year from work and I still Prefer ny Personal phone witch Is an Android. Looks like an 8310 you were picking on, and by your own admission you were handed down that old relic from your mate. Blackberry has dramatically evolved since that model. The new 9900 is excellent and I suggest you give that one a try. The 9850 is an iPhone copy. Check them out.

@vanzahn no they're not i'm using a blackberry torch and have been for about three months and 1) the typing with any of the three ways in amazing 2) the touch screen is amazing and 3) The connection is great all the time and gets online in no time plus the battery lasts for about a week even when i use it heavily... i can only assume that you have since not used a blackberry and are just making up these criticisms im afraid...

It is possible to alter the reaction it has when you remove it from the magnetised case. You can set it to answer on removal, or to wait for you to press green. Tried that? Also, that voice command button, I've changed it to scroll through previous menus, but I've not had the problem with it that you've had. And I don't think it's tin - mines just plastic painted fucking 'chrome'! I like mine, but it is interesting to see how older models compare.

Its a 8830, its 3-4 years old. Unit isn't even made anymore, your putting in the holster backwards, and the side key can be changed under option, screen keyboard, convenience key. Browser does suck though.

You have the right to your own opinion but I feel that this isn't a fair review of Blackberry because you could have gotten another version/model which would have been more fitting to your needs/wants.

lol bro that blackberry is a super old one! That is like 90% of your problem! I have a blackberry bold 9000 which is much newer and even that is old now. But yes Blackberry blows ass! Android is what its all about now!

Its a 8830, its 3-4 years old. Unit isn't even made anymore, your putting in the holster backwards, and the side key can be changed under option, screen keyboard, convenience key. Browser does suck though.

@homerjayjetfan I realise that it's an older model but i'm putting it in the correct way or it wouldn't turn off in contact with the magnet and my criticisms still stand with friend's modern bollockberrys. Just don't like ANYTHING about them.

why get an iphone or android that will last 5 months of you cell contract hen u get a blackberry that will last for the entire 2-3 years and betond!! makes no sense. must be nice to be able to spend $500 every 5 months on a new htc phone

at least bb last! i had an HTC phone and it sucked worse than any bb i had. my htc last 6 months. ive had my bb for 3 years. NO problem. my other htc, 4 months. dont get htc phones!!!

Blackberry sucks.....but for other reasons!!! The bult quality on the new ones is good such as the keyboard!! it's a pretty oldschool blackberry dude. The newer ones are better made. You'd probably do better with an Android, unless you just want something to play around with then an Iphone would do what you want.
