The Dollar is going to be destroyed in real deflation; it is itself just a promissory note of a broken banking system. When US denominated debt collapses this whole trade cycle of foreigners buying our debt stops to sterilize their foreign exchange inflows stops and the demand for dollar will deminish

@optionsupdate it depends on the status of the banking system and the country experiencing the deflation. In a country as broke and in debt as the US it spells disaster. The forex market is influenced by the notion of where capital flees to or from . when america can't pay its bills capital will flee.
