I watched a tv programme a couple of nights ago about the history of VOX (Jennings) amplifiers, and it showed the prototype--"Fuzz" box which was first made, and presented in an"OXO"(Beef Stock) tin! What a cheerful way to brighten up this freezing, snow packed day! Many thanks for posting, this has really cheered me up!
This is so funny, and yet it also reminds us that the Everly Brothers , even though Don was a perfectionst, could still have fun. Did they ever make another tape of this.
Oh...this is such a keeper! Once the funny comments and the giggling starts, I can't stop laughing either and it's so darn cute! Would have loved to have been there for this! Thank you Mary for sending this and thank you imanuglyfrog for posting.
Mountain - river - whatever - You just can't be serious all the time! This makes me smile every time I hear it....One of my favorite postings on youtube!
Thanks to my wounderful friend ebfan41 for sendin and sharin this wounderful video with me and to imanuglyfrogtoo for makin and sharin this wounderful video with us. I have to say Don and Phil sure were two cute good lookin guys and I'm sure they still are. God Bless, Hugs & Smiles, Love, Jan
I've been a fan since I was 12yrs old--(1957) and to hear a giggling session like this is a fabulous treat. Why not?To err is only human, and to do it with such laughter is so natural Wow! can you imagine Don and Phil's response to hearing this?I hope they hear this track---I know they will laugh again! I remember rehearsing or trying to----- when somebody had said a funny. For posting this you are legend! as my kids would say.
@ebfan41 I wonder what caused the laughter... Just guessing those highly elevated romantic metaphors were a bit too much for them. LOL. (Who wrote the lyrics for this one??) Thanks for sharing, Mary! Also, thanks to Mark for posting this treasure!
@thousandsmiles2 Yes - I think one of them mixed up the words at one point. And that started it. I thought it sounded more like Phil said: "I'm so glad she left - Never did like that girl anyway" ( Referring to the girl in the song lyrics) I think this cut is just hilarious. As a teenager I was in church choir and one friend was always trying to make me lose it. Think I'll listen again!
@justmusicandme Thanks, Loretta! Now I know what they say towards the end, but I meant that at the very beginning, even before they start playing, Phil says something... it sounds like "Let's put some fuzz on it," but not quite!
@thousandsmiles2 okay, okay, i give in...seeing as how no-one else will say it...as mikeeverly has said above, "They were most likely referring to add fuzz to the electric guitars which nowadays is known as distortion"....BUT..."Fuzz" has a double meaning..! Think about it...(hairy nether regions.?) School kid humour got the better of them me thinks..!
@imanuglyfrogtoo Oh my.... I really couldn't feel that connotation to it, but in case it's true, I can only say "boys will be boys," no matter they could sing and harmonize like angels! LOL! Thanks so much for your reply -- finally!! :-)
@justmusicandme The "I'm so glad she left ... never did like her" sounds more like Don -- who also has a wonderful, contagious laugh. Phil can be heard at the very beginning, starting to make trouble LOL.
It´s always so very nice to listen to the alternate takes and this one is no exception. Thanks Maria for this great share!

They were most likely referring to add fuzz to the electric guitars which nowadays is known as distortion :)

@mikeeverly Fuzz and Distortion are Overdrive are all different.

@noahwayne Distortion (music)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Distortion effects create "warm", "dirty" and "fuzzy" sounds by compressing the peaks of a musical instrument's sound wave and adding overtones.
The terms “distortion”, “overdrive” and “fuzz” are often used interchangeably, but they have subtle differences in meaning.

@mikeeverly I still call them fuzz boxes, I get some looks from the guitar players.
G8GT364CI 1 month ago
@G8GT364CI We used to call them fuzz boxes way back in the 70's here in the UK :)

@thousandsmiles2 yep, they were certainly tickled by the fuzz......had trouble holding it together and never really recovered......

@imanuglyfrogtoo I hear them talking about this "fuzz," I just don't get it what they refer to (I'm a foreigner), but now I'm curious!
