M. Night's a good director. He knows how to direct actors and uses film techinques in an interesting way that engages the audience.
BUT (BIG but) for the most part:
A) he picks scripts that are ABSOLUTE SH1T.
B) And the one technique that he relies on the most to where its ABSURD is that hokey one where a LOUD SOUND startles the audience and at the same time the lights go out/ or he cuts to a QUICK FLASH of SOMETHING for a moment.

To be honest- I don't really care who makes a movie, if a trailer looks interesting- then I'll be one to see it! I adore scary movies and to be honest, I walked in expecting a horror movie. It does scare some but for a horror movie lover, it wasn't exactly scary. I'd say the acting needed improvement but kudos to the development when it came to a trailer. It did get me interested in how it would turn out. It was average in ratings from my point of view. It was just alright. Worth seeing though.

M. Night Shamalamadingdong didn't do too bad with this movie. It was entertaining for the short amount of time it was on and that's all it had to do, BUT I do agree with most folk who have commented here, he does need to stop. Not original, its bad enough we have all these reboots, we need as much non 3D originality we can get.

i saw this movie yesterday and iot was interesting althought me n my friend werent planning to watch this movie we were trying to sneak in to see jackass but couldnt. so we saw this movie and it was ok. i give it a 6+/10

M. Night's a good director. He knows how to direct actors and uses film techinques in an interesting way that engages the audience.
BUT (BIG but) for the most part:
A) he picks scripts that are ABSOLUTE SH1T.
B) And the one technique that he relies on the most to where its ABSURD is that hokey one where a LOUD SOUND startles the audience and at the same time the lights go out/ or he cuts to a QUICK FLASH of SOMETHING for a moment.

@Naturalhit Except Hitchcock knew how to tell a story just for scares or use metaphor to make a social critique not do both and fail at each at the same time.
The guy is egotistical and delusional, either step aside or admit your role in making a film don't have your name splattered across the screen in ridiculous font.

@shin0bi88 M Night is one of the most nicest people in Hollywood. He gave more to charity than most celebrities, you just don't hear that. And he's not tabloid material like Bradangelina. So he is far from egotistical. He has a style to him. Some people like it and other hate it. Nothing wrong with that.
As far as name on the screen, he has a right to that. The guy direct, produce, and writes. Who else does this, except for Gibson and sometimes Lucas.

I agree that M. Night Shyamalan's movies lately have SUCKED! "The Happening"=Terrible! This movie however I thought was wonderful! Not so much scary but very attention getting and a great message! Overall I would recommend it for people to see, very good movie!

i thought the movie was gr8, it looked scary in the movie trailer, but it was more like shutter island, where it looks scary, but its actuaully a mystery
i wont spoil too much of the movie, but some parts didnt make sense, for example, ill mention how 7 ppl died, yet only 6 were supposed to die, and only 5/6 of the ppl who were supposed to die, died

To be honest- I don't really care who makes a movie, if a trailer looks interesting- then I'll be one to see it! I adore scary movies and to be honest, I walked in expecting a horror movie. It does scare some but for a horror movie lover, it wasn't exactly scary. I'd say the acting needed improvement but kudos to the development when it came to a trailer. It did get me interested in how it would turn out. It was average in ratings from my point of view. It was just alright. Worth seeing though.

Devil should have been called "Bad Actors in an Elevator."
I know M. Night had nothing to do with "Snakes on a Plane", but at least the title was honest, the actors in on the joke, and Samual Jackson...well I can watch that motherfucker in anything.
I haven't even seen Devil, but I'm gonna go with thumbs down because I'm getting tired of seeing M. Night's name on these mutha fuckin movies on these mutha fuckin screens!!!

thought i havnt seen the movie, the trailer looks convincing enough for me to watch it and im surprised the producer could make a great looking trailer after making a huge mistake with avatar, overall looks intense and will make ppl keep guessing but u dont not as much brain to figure out this compared to inception (best movie EVER)

M. Night Shamalamadingdong didn't do too bad with this movie. It was entertaining for the short amount of time it was on and that's all it had to do, BUT I do agree with most folk who have commented here, he does need to stop. Not original, its bad enough we have all these reboots, we need as much non 3D originality we can get.

it reeeaaaaallly sucked... at one point the guy trys to figure out whos the devil by throwing a peice of toast in the air and and seeing if it lands butter side up. and all the characters reactions where not comparable to human behavior AT ALL. it had a few cheap scares and the whole thing was predictable, 2/10 for a good concept. never heard of this guy (mainly because of i dont really care who makes a movie) but he sucks, and is most defiantly gay.
