  • Broadway Danny Rose is the greatest Allen film imho

  • Woody Allen is a genius !

  • his bead is perpendicular to the floor? 7:38

  • Gosh, he was almost cute once.

  • I'm surprised the ingrats working in some govt agency aren't clamping down on Woody Allen. After all, it's quite evident here that he's going completely against the grain. He's exhibiting anit-govt tendencies. He's thinking freely, he's being funny and ironic. He's stimulating free ideas. He's certainly striking a chord with other free thinkers. And, as any solid gov't cohort understands, it won't be too long before people will start freely assembling and thinking free thoughts together!

  • Brilliant. A real GENIUS! Thank God we have a Woody Allen. And thank God that revenge is God's (as the bible says) - cuz these offensive comment posters pander to the worst taste in everybody and it's offensive to my intelligence, etc., etc., etc. ... Ciao babies!!!

  • I'd say he was using dry humour during 75% of this video.

  • Read the post. Takes about a 2nd grade education to figure it out. duuuhhhh

  • Yeah, you sound pretty obsessed with pedophilia and pedophiles if you're going to all of Woody Allen's videos talking about pedophilia. I'd say you're a closet child molester. Sick fuck.

  • Dick head

  • @NyteRyd2r I'd say he's a closet human. After all, he/she's really acting foolish and spewing chunks ...

  • you just gonna post the same thing on all woody allen videos

  • Are you always this thick?

  • Woody allen i such a genius. So smart and funny.

  • yep !!

  • Comment removed

  • woody allen is simply amazing

  • In this video part, Woody A., is amazing, how he is thar's, usually.

  • great acting! or not :))

  • the bad billard playing was surely acted.

  • wonderful footage

  • i don't get why people feel the need to bash woody. yeah, he married a girl and it was kinda weird but she wasn't forced to marry him and they're happy as far as I can see. Let it go, the man's a comical genius. Who cares?

  • didn't know that he's such a good billard palyer ;-)

  • love this man.

  • Before I looked at these comments, it didn't even occur to me for a moment that allen wasn't talking ironically. Am I just naive?

  • To all the women who are pissed at Wood Allen for making these comments. Get over it!!! NEWS FLASH all men think this way even if they dont admit it around you. THis includes your fathers, husbands, brothers and sons. Thank GOd for Woody Allen. If he didnt do comedy women wouldt give a shit about what he thought.

  • GAH! I LOVE his so....!

  • Things to consider:

    1) Woody MAY BE playing a CHARACTER.

    Even if he's not,

    2) It's 1967, and

    3) He's in his early 30s.

    Factor that shit in, please.

  • Yeah, he's old.

  • I adore him.

  • to the people saying hes being sexist basicaly i dont think this interview is to be taken seriously its an act i mean is he really that bad at snooker i think not lol

  • Dip shit

  • He's looking at women as if they are pieces of meat.

  • Why are you citing his virtues?

  • Wow, is he talking about women or a piece of meat?

  • Woody Allen invented the 20 footer thing?

    Live and learn.

  • the feminist is angryyy

  • soft

  • LOL at 3.07! Nice to see that even before his film career began Woody was cultivating the physically inept character we all know and love.

Oh, and if judging women on looks alone is good enough for Woody Allen, then it's good enough for me too: the brunette at 1.38 is hot.

  • 32 years old here . . . if you care.

  • woody is the king: here's my woody type joke: " I can't believe they would cover michael jacksons coffin in Gold plate, heh! he might wanna fall through"..........

  • HEY, SOMEBODY TELL WOODY THAT HE EAST COAST MOTOR CLUB VOICE ON THE RADIO COMMERCIAL. SOUNDS EXACTLY LIKE, WELL,,,,,,WOOODY ALLEN.

    bt

  • He is so amazing and amusing! I love his work...he is so talented!

  • No, he married his girlfriends adopted step daughter.

  • "The kind of girls I like theoretically should show up here." LOL I sympathize, Woody.

  • "I come to a museum to look at girls ... and a smattering of culture creeps into me."

  • what's great about this interview is that it precedes his entire film career. He had ten years or more as a successful gag-writer which itself is a tough career to succeed at. Then he went on stage telling jokes and did well at that. he's really a fascinating guy.

  • Incredible! Woody Allen paved the way for comedians today.

  • That is your opinion, and it is an unpopular one.

  • smattering of culture :)

  • the best!

  • type 'drew schofield contenders' into you tube watch and enjoy funny funny

  • i luv woody allen

  • "I like bad weather. I like the weather in London. I like the weather in Paris....when it's bad."

  • Does that really surprise you?!

  • omg

  • he reminds me of Bob Dylan at this age, but even better

  • I love this man. :) He came to Poland in December. What a great show!

  • This video really made my day

  • Woody Allen is a Genius and everybody should be used to the idea that he is an icon in all kind of discussions....He has always been and those who cannot dig it...are way under ! Who can make up philosophy out of whatever without being a Woody Allen ? I have not found one around......George Modilevsky ( Google )

  • "American television....is offensive to my intelligence"

  • great journalism (at that point in woody's carrer), to get woody to unapolageticaly freely admit that ... just remind us of a citizens that (more or less) from then on, woody sold more and more international, and less and less domestically ... not only is he right (that most us tv stinks), but he said it knowing it would cost him his us fan base of producers or financial support ...

    many thanks for this video

  • i remember seeing this on cbs when i was just a young child. i knew from then on that i would gladly follow this bright and funny comedian's entire career until the end. i am glad to say i have met him twice, and have even gotten a photo with him. you really can't understand how wonderful he is until you are standing right next to him. he is a genius. a genius with a kind heart. he's been a public figure for 40 years now. there is a reason why.

  • this is briliant.

  • Thanks for posting

  • hello

  • What a great pool player.

  • Hey thanks for posting this. I liked it better when attractiveness counted more on hair and face.

  • "if her face is not good, that's discouraging." LOL!

  • why doesn't the cbc do anything like this anymore?

  • Boy-- Thanks a lot for picking us apart like a chicken, part by part. Depressing to women to hear this is how men think. I like Woody's humor in spite of this though. He's hilarious, if sexist.

  • yes he is hilarious rkg77! he is honest too! you are ignorant to think men think otherwise- he is not "sexist", he is heterosexual. "sexist" would be to hire a man before a woman...

  • you are both wrong: hiring a man over a woman is not "sexist", it's "discriminating" based on gender. being "sexist" is not making a perverse comment about women (many people make that mistake). if you say a guy throws a baseball like a girl, that's a sexist comment, as is making the claim that women can raise children better than men. capiche? (means do you understand?)

  • its hardly pc to point out that "that's the way people think for real"... the same "comments" exist for heterosexual women towards men and homosexual men and women for their potential coupling partners... it is true though ... stand ups or "comics" only gain popularity by voicing what we do think ... but that most are too bitchy scarred to acknowledge it exept with close friends or family ... we remain animals, rating is not raping ...

  • he is one of the most intelligent people ever lived.. he grasps ultimate universal truths!

    a natural philosopher!

  • What newspapers did Woody Allen send his jokes to?

You could actually send jokes to newspaper columns to get paid?

  • Why was my question given a minus?

I seriously want to know: to which newspapers can you send your jokes to get paid?

  • pick up the book by Eric Lax.

  • It's funny how Woody looks much older then 31 in that video but looks great at the age of 72 now.

I dunno, just thinking out loud.

  • Interesting.

  • he seem so young!

    oh my woody*-*

  • he wanted to be a cowboy at college age hahahahaha woody rules

  • brilliant clip! So full of insight.. But none greater then when he misses the cueball.. It's great!

  • what can you say.

Woody is a genius. It's just too bad he cant go on forever.

  • yeah, thanks for posting this delightful portrait, as i had never seen it. what makes woody allen so engaging is the way his humor comes out of his rarified intelligence (like Dick Cavett's), all filtered through a skewed sensibility, "i always wanted to be a criminal" ha ha ha! Absolute brilliant comic, writer, director - but lousy billiards player! Woody is the best...

  • lol

  • I love younger Woody! (31 is younger Woody hah)

This was a great find, thanks so much!

  • I love his laugh :) I need to figure out how I'm going to mimic his voice, cuz i'm playing him in a play. its distiguishable, but I just can't copy it right...

  • Scary to think that his 40 something films and plays, books etc...could have NOT been made... I mean if he would have been just....lazy... he wouldn't have send in the paper and so on... Long live Woody...73 years old on the 1st of december 08...and still vital as ever...

  • Funny and revealing. He speaks seriously about his working methods and still makes you laugh. Thanks for posting this.

  • quite possibly one of the most brilliant writers/directors of the modern age. he;s got such great style and such a way with words and language. bravo woody!

  • This man is Fabulous!! I love him and his style of humor. His offbeat ways makes him very attractive. Just a Great artist!

  • This is brilliant. I love how, while in college, he was musing the idea of being a cowboy.

  • Thank you so much for uploading this. I can't get enough of Woody Allen! His style, his charm, his character, all of it. The guy is funny even when he's not trying to be.

  • Woody Allen is my IDOL! One of the most fascinating minds of our time IMO. Also possibly one of the greatest screenwriters in movie history!

  • Fantastic stuff!

  • He's my rolemodel ...

I wanted him to be my grandpa!

  • GREAT UPLOAD. Thanks for posting this.

  • Boy, I see a lot of 20 footers around here.

  • Can anyone tell me , does Woody Allen drive if so what kind of vehicle does he own or drive. Thank's

  • Great upload

  • This is just fantastic! Where do people find stuff like this? Thank you so much for posting it, I'm a huge fan of Allen's and this was splendid :o)

  • I love this. I'm only at the 3-minute mark and I'm laughing like crazy. Thanks for posting this.

  • Woody Allen is my main Dude in the entertanment world.

  • It's funny how little he's changed throughout the years. He talks the same and even looks pretty much the same at 31 as he does now, at 71. Only his hair is a bit greyer than back then.

  • Man, he looked old even then.

  • What's the origin of this? Is there more?

  • This (according to the description) is from the CBC.

  • See it's these kinds of observations that would normally go unnoticed.

  • This is hilarious! He rates women on the street 1-10.
