  • I wouldn't insist newbs to keep knees together but allow to decide themselves what seems more convenient to them - for many people it's apart. In such case forcing the knees together can sufficiently block the steering effect.

  • I see you posted the boat speed ... how quick does the drive have to accelerate to that speed ? ... is it slow 10 sec or so to get to 18mph or quick burst to get there as with slalom start.

    good question.

    If you go too fast (1-2 seconds), you will yank the rope out of the riders hands before they get up. If you go too slow (6-10 seconds) you will wear down the rider before they get up. So the timing should be somewhere between 3-5 seconds. Once they are experienced, they will pop up out of the water as fast as you can get the boat up to speed.
