  • @YouSayYouWantA Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it.

  • Senator Feinstein plans to put forth an amendment tomorrow that would require a trial before detainment. It isn't as good as Udall's or Rand's amendment, but I still doubt it will pass. "The Feinstein amendment expressly prescribes the authority of the U.S. military where U.S. citizens are concerned, saying that the authority of "the Armed Forces of the United States to detain a person does not include the authority to detain a citizen of the United States without trial."

  • @YaHuWaHservant I'm more concerned about the label domestic terrorist. I am aware of the "no citizens detained" clause but believe it is quite loose and allows for a great level of freedom to target anti-government and opposition supporters. That is my main concern. We need to think beyond this Congress and administration and see the long term effects of such a precedent.

  • @Fireball1013 I absolutely agree! This legislation would turn powers over from the Department of Justice to the Department of defense. It would allow anyone, US citizen or no, charged with suspected terrorism to be held indefinitely without trial. If there is to be a trial it would be by military tribunal with classified evidence and not in civilian court. They could come get you or I, throw us in Guantanamo, and that would be that. Why are people not up in arms over this? TN sold me out.
