Ok so i got this card in march and now i wanna overclock it quite a bit. The current stats for the card is:
Core clock = 732
Shader clock = 1464
Memory clock = 1900
Fan speed = 38 (Lowest)
And the voltage is stock. Anyone know how much i can overclock it with stock voltage? And how if i can't overclock it that much how do i higher the voltage? Please respond! :)
@oHaiinexD MSI AfterBurner is good for overclocking video cards (It doesn't need to be MSI card). Put Furmark running and adjust the clock, if there is anything in the Furmark that should'n be (distortion etc.) it isn't stable. You can increase voltage in afterburner also. But I maybe would leave it alone but if it's okay to you that you can mess up your card then go ahead, increase the voltage. I have never broke video card when just increasing clock speeds. (So I haven't increased voltages) :)
I have a 1200 x 900 monitor and I want to buy a gtx 570 hd but then I saw another gtx 570hd the same but with 2.5gb instead of 1.2gb is the 2.5gb really necessary if I want to play crysis on very high settings compared to the 1.2gb version in terms of performance
I have a GTX 570 HD, not a normal gtx 570! And i downloaded the latest drivers for gtx 570 couse there was no option for GTX 570 HD. But then it says only comes up with the 275.33 version! And to play bf3 alpha i need 275.39 MINIMUM! So can someone PLEASE HELP ME COUSE I DONT UNDERSTAND ANYTHING :(

Had two 6850s in crossfire. Wasn't happy. Bought a 6970, still wasn't happy with drivers and catalyst software. bought a 570 hd and now I'm happy. Crysis 1 and 2 work much better with nVidia as well as mafia 2 and others. Things just look more detailed, clear with better looking AA and effects look more realistic. The nVidia control panel software also feels more professional and more refined. I have had no driver issues and no need to overclock. I'm staying with nVidia. thanks evga.

It's a great card so far. I have two complaints thought. The fans are a bit loud and the poster is hideous. Other then that, it's an awesome graphics card. Runs everything I throw at it in 1920x1200 resolution and max settings. Can't wait to try Battlefield 3 on this bad boy.
quick question. How noisy really is the fan? Newegg has a deal on them for $310 shipped, but I'm wondering if i should get it or something better like the Msi Twin Frozr 3.
And how well does it overclock? Can it reach 855mhz core clock?
@eagleFMJ that wasn't an nvidia dis, but so you know, nvidia bought out aegia(the creator of phys-x) to force there hand and force you to buy nvidia if you want phys-x. but, you should know, phys-x is outdated, and will be replaced with opencl :)
So what can this card actually do? I'm expecting that this will output full 1080p 3d with the display port at higher than 60fps which I understand is the limit of hdmi 1.4a. Are there even monitors that can display true 120hz 3d 1080p to each eye? I know tv's in this generation cant even display anything over 1080p 3d at 24fps which makes 3d gaming suck balls at 720p 60hz. Pretty useless addition at this point in time
GTX 570 HD is technically better because it features full display port support as well as full sized HDMI port. The main technical difference though is the memory speed is faster on the EVGA GTX 570 HD. The numbers read 0.5ns on the GTX 570 and 0.4ns on the GTX 570 HD. These numbers held true on both the regular versions and the superclocked versions.
P.S. The EVGA GTX 580 has a 0.4ns memory speed on all versions of the card.

@Shroffff well if its within the next month, theres the 90 day step up program so you can upgrade to something better. But if its past 3 months, tough luck because technology changes so fast, you just have to buy some good and be happy. The GTX 570 should last you at least 2 years anyway.

It's kind of odd that I'm not excited about DisplayPort. My Macbook already has it, and it's a standard, but not that much displays have a DisplayPort for input. Although I have heard that DisplayPort can transfer Video and Audio like an HDMI Cable, but DisplayPort has more bandwidth.

@matt56037 if your graphics card and graphics card driver supports it, yes, most do, in fact i'm nto aware of any graphics cards made in the last, while that don't support that if you wish to have it.
So in other words, its totally pointless to have DP on there but they threw it on anyways just to say they have it, even though we'll be well past the 5xx series cards by the time DP replaces DVI.
@afinewaytodine I wouldn't say nVidia are 'undisputed' high-end kings. Both AMD and nVidia release flagship cards at different points, and at different times both company's own the "best GPU in the world" crown. For instance nVidia had no competition for the 5970 when it was released. Then many months later the GTX580 took the crown back. Now AMD is set to release their new "Antilles" card, the 6990, which will be faster then the 580.
@l2Bubble I know, I was just saying at the moment. If the 6990 releases at a $500-$600 price range, AMD will once again dominate the high end (Yes, I'm aware that its a dual GPU card, don't freak out fanboys). I feel that with this generation of GPUs, Nvidia basically won, although I personally feel AMD won last gen with the 5xxx series. I totally agree with you, Its all subjective to market changes and new generation and products.
It still amazes me that nVidia hasn't jumped on adopting Displayport as much as AMD has.
It's a great connection standard. I'd rather have some DP slots over HDMI. I don't buy a GTX 580 or a 570 to use it on a shitty fucking television with only a max resolution of 1920x1080. If your monitor doesn't support DisplayPort, use DVI. Otherwise, HDMI is all but useless on anything but HTPC cards.
I've long wondered why nvidia limits 3 displays to SLI-only configurations. if AMD can do four displays on a single card surely nvidia can manage three?
@InternetSandman It's a limitation of the GPU itself. They have not provisioned for more then the traditional 2 ramdac signals. That won't change untill an architecture change, ie Kepler at the earliest.

I'm not sure the engineering details but seeing as how neither the 400 series nor the 500 which improved upon the existing architecture can support it, was nobody at nvidia thinking "hmm, maybe we should add support for a third display while we're at it"?
Nope, the older "normal" HD 5xxx cars support up to 3 displays out of 1 card and the newer 6xxx cards support up to 4 (2x mini-displayport & 2xdvi/hdmi)

HDMI is useless because there's no sound to be carried to a computer monitor.
I just said who gives a shit about TV's? If you're using a TV as a monitor that's your problem. Enjoy your shitty PPI and crap resolution. Monitors don't need HDMI.

@Solidstate89 yes but you can also use an HDMI just for video, though there are MANY computer monitors with build in speakers, many use hdmi just as another display port

@matt56037 if your graphics card and graphics card driver supports it, yes, most do, in fact i'm nto aware of any graphics cards made in the last, while that don't support that if you wish to have it.

@afinewaytodine I wouldn't say nVidia are 'undisputed' high-end kings. Both AMD and nVidia release flagship cards at different points, and at different times both company's own the "best GPU in the world" crown. For instance nVidia had no competition for the 5970 when it was released. Then many months later the GTX580 took the crown back. Now AMD is set to release their new "Antilles" card, the 6990, which will be faster then the 580.

@l2Bubble I know, I was just saying at the moment. If the 6990 releases at a $500-$600 price range, AMD will once again dominate the high end (Yes, I'm aware that its a dual GPU card, don't freak out fanboys). I feel that with this generation of GPUs, Nvidia basically won, although I personally feel AMD won last gen with the 5xxx series. I totally agree with you, Its all subjective to market changes and new generation and products.

It still amazes me that nVidia hasn't jumped on adopting Displayport as much as AMD has.
It's a great connection standard. I'd rather have some DP slots over HDMI. I don't buy a GTX 580 or a 570 to use it on a shitty fucking television with only a max resolution of 1920x1080. If your monitor doesn't support DisplayPort, use DVI. Otherwise, HDMI is all but useless on anything but HTPC cards.

That DP port is useless, you cannot run 3 displays unless in SLI still, due to only 2 RAMDAC's on the GPU die.

@InternetSandman It's a limitation of the GPU itself. They have not provisioned for more then the traditional 2 ramdac signals. That won't change untill an architecture change, ie Kepler at the earliest.

@AreleEvE I find that rather sad considering this is an architectural refresh. I'm not sure the engineering details but seeing as how neither the 400 series nor the 500 which improved upon the existing architecture can support it, was nobody at nvidia thinking "hmm, maybe we should add support for a third display while we're at it"?

Nope, the older "normal" HD 5xxx cars support up to 3 displays out of 1 card and the newer 6xxx cards support up to 4 (2x mini-displayport & 2xdvi/hdmi)

I dont understand... Are people blind, cause havent seen any nvidia cards with 2 gpus on one card... and amd is low end?! Maybe cpus by amd are low end, but ive only seen extreme shit when it comes to AMDs highest cards.
