@DinnerBells I'll have to correct you. The theremin, the first practical electronic musical instrument, was invented by a Russian scientist in 1918, and has been used in many musical settings, running the gamut from "Bach to Rock." Including many "popular songs" over the decades.
Doubt it was the 1st used in a popular song(opens up all sorts of cans)but it's being used here extremely effectivelyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy....This is making the Beatles look like pedestrians.
who the fook is this and how on earth did they conjour up such lovely colourful
lively enigmatic jumping brilliant sound with only a few basic notes!
my golly that sythesizer thingy does it all, a new invention for the sixties, Beachboys~ Good Vibrations used one, and Tina Turners~Nutbush City Limits Capt come back to Earth just once more and do it again,,,, please
@MrOrbitsville ..i think it's called a Theremin that funny synth thing........and if you liked this one try Big Eyed Beans from Venus.......it's beafheart at his very very best...in fact the clear spot album is all ways round amazing!!
how was it , the following tone is a reference tone recorded at our operating level ? i think he broke into his own on this record , less blues and more more somethink else , somethink undiscovered
@klummp I would find it quite awesome if Sonic Youth tried to cover a Beefheart song even if it wasn't that good. I love when bands show where they got their stuff from to the public so they will become interested and look into these geniuses that seem to get forgotten so easily.
So many songs ont his album are so perfect the way they are. They can never be duplicated. Sonic Youths cover does no justice to this tune, but I wouldnt mind hearing Tom Waits give it a go
One of the most awesome songs in the whole universe. True fact.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've heard this was the first time a theremin was used in popular song.

Free Energy is real and its here but the coverup is strong, if u are interested in a REAL free energy machine then
just go to LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM and download the blueprints ,it is probably the ONLY working magnet

@klummp They did and even though I can hear how much they like the guy, it's no classic.
Beefheart's original, on the other hand, is so classic that it makes Chuck Norris cry.
