I agree that striving in the flesh is not the way to overcome temptation. Faith, trust and rest in Him to be the overcomer within you.

Just want to add what Jesus said to the disciples in Gethsemene "Keep watching and praying, that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. (They didn't watch and pray, and then Peter denied Christ that same night).
