on school they all me crazy becaus i want to run in fire's and save human's animals and property the childs of 2011 all are to shelfish to do somthing
@TheHickupp yeah... with that defference that I never heard of a firefighter shooting children or bombing a family house, only SAVING them - that makes all the defference in the world!
But for the grace of god go my family! My dad was a Firefighter for 30 years and had many close calls, I can only assume he had good guardian angels! I am sadden by the death of these hero, but proud of their dedication and sacrifice!! Long live CFD (Charleston) CFD ( Columbia)!!!
@TheHickupp you a Douche BAG i am a Volunteer Firefighter myself and believe me we dont snore when we dont have a Fire going on we are always out Training or preparing for the next call ! IT is alot more the just picking up a HOSE and Spraying Water if you knew anything about Firefighting you would KNOW ! Oh way but u dont so maybe you need to shut the FUCK UP !! You dont know the First thing about Fire Fighting you probably just seen TO MANY Movies and show on TV !
@AmericanNinja85 VERY True there is a way you have to do it so you dont fucking die. i hate the guys that hate us untill we are called to duty then they need us. i hope all the haters dont ever need to call us. even when they do, guess what. WE WILL SHOW UP. and we will save who ever we need to save. STAY SAFE MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS
@TheHickupp wut do u have against firefighters dude....wait let me guess they didn't give u a plastic helmet or a sticker badge at the parade right....ur an ass hole i would like to see u go into a burning building with 70 pounds of gear on and still pull a person out.
Tell you what next time you see a fire how about you attempt to go inside the house and do it? Why wont you? BECAUSE YOU CANT! The forces put their lives on the line each and every day as well as we do. Without the fire department there would be CHAOS
so, Hickupp...firefighters arent heroes...youre right, we arent, we simply do our jobs...
my only issue with your arguement is this :
Yes, i agree, armed forces are true Heroes, but what about those who are firefighters within the armed forces? Go out and do what we do, just for a day, then see if you can still come and say that stuff
I agree Shut Up Hickupp we are not there to be called heros we are there to help people when they are in the worst time of their life and plus I don't get paid for it I am Volunteer we are all the same. But until you find a job they may be able to match what we do SHUT THE FUCK UP
Fuck you Hickupp. You really must not know what real firefighters do. They just don't stand there. They run into the fires and pull people out. And unlike the soldiers that you are proclaiming, most firefighters do NOT get paid. I'd like to see you get your ass in 50 pounds of gear and run into a burning building to save someone FOR FREE.
I hope your house catches fire and you have to have them save your ass.
people really need to realize these boys put there lives on the line all the time and if you are bashing this video you should be ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES ya back then they scba's wernt made to be required at least they got the courage to do what they have done they see alot of fire and especially after 9/11 you should respect them thats all im saying.. and to the ones out there putting your own lives out there thank you stay safe keep the BROTHERHOOD GOING!!!!!!
better the hospital then the grave. either way, he your dad is a brave man. make sure your with him all you can be, because it only takes one alarm for him to not come home.
haha wouldnt catch me dead inside a structure fire with out an s.c.b.a lol this is a great song for a tribute to those who lost there lives and those who continue to put there lives on the line like myself
Great vid of old school Jakes. To those who are bashing - STFU. These guys saw more fire in a year than you'll see in a lifetime. They did what they had to with what they had. Those that survived the job paid for it with their health. But they did it and did not have to brag about their bs sheep humper fd. If you had any class or brotherhood at all you would know that all of us owe these guys for the safety principles and gear we have today. These guys deserve respect.
you 2 never use a pack and disobey orders, sounds like a good department to me. Have fun with all the health problems you'll have later on from sucking in all that shit. Hope you'll feel like a tough ass then too when you're sitting in a chair on home oxygen.
This is old school firefighting, when firefighters were looked on as heros and every kid wanted to be a firefighter. i am a firefighter but i have to give it to the oldtimers, these guys know what its all about.
ya and unfortunately a lot of them died way before their time. Thank god for the improvements we have now. I admit though those guys were ballsy as shit to run in without packs and suck in all that shit.
hahahaha. The attention is nice. I love doing it. Im currently a Jr. Firefighter and loving every second. Its the best job in the world, i dont want to do anything else. God bless your grandad.
I maybe wrong but is it true they retire when they are 50? It might have changed as I said, Grandad was one in the 1950's. I remember in 1987 my school caught on fire & it was mayhem. In the UK (because I dont know where you are from) firemen do calandars!! Seriously!! Do I own a calandar? Of course I do!!
Hay the guy did a good job on this. Also this is not meant to be for training its to show people what can happen to us, weather that be in a real house fire or ( a training fire / mistake. ) so stop trying to make this into something for you to be training off of. And like I said this is a good video.
exacly why take it off when one can learn from this? huh? huh? these are things that every firefighter should look at so they can make better decisions on the firegrounds.
Give John a break there BFDriver. Yes, some examples of poor training choices. But these are used today as examples of what not to do. The vintage footage of some of the brave from the 50's and 60's is excellent. Boy, do we have it made with all of our new PPE, TIC's and new apparatus. Thanks for sharing John!
I will concede that I should have said "edited to remove the examples of what NOT to do" instead of "taken off the net". But I steadfastly maintain that much of this footage has no business in a "tribute" video.
I agree firecapt100, don't know where BFDdriver is, not that it really matters. John did a great job on the video. The laws and codes in effect today are there because somebody somewhere made a wrong choice and if the younger brothers see what went wrong and just maybe learn from it then in the end it saves lives...
Hay the guy did a good job on this. Also this is not meant to be for training its to show people what can happen to us, weather that be in a real house fire or ( a training fire / mistake. ) so stop trying to make this into something for you to be training off of. And like I said this is a good video.
does anyone know where about the first 3 min of the video are from. it looks like vintage chicago fire dept footage. but i'm not sure i anyone knows send me a message please!
The video at 3:30 was a "demonstration" to a group of kids. If you look at the bottom of the screen during those shots you can see the plastic firefighter helmets the kids are wearing. Those in charge at that dept should be severely reprimanded for allowing something like that to take place. Not the best for PR for the dept that's for sure. I bet none of those kids want to be a firefighter now when they grow up.
it was a training exercise by a different FD...not FDNY, they used gas as an accelerant, followed by a nuke going off (don't know where that came from)
it wasnt a nuke it was a factory that made a chemical for the fuel used on the space shudle, they stock piled it after challenger exploded because nase wasnt buying and it lit up and that explosion was so big that it riped a 3ft gas pipe 6ft out of the ground. So it was fire dept related
nice
