no wind I guess!! always try up hill never down hill, as soon as the chute is clear full gas, have a plan to abort ie at safe distance if not airborne by then(usually 3/4 distance)cut power slam the anchor. I have learnt the hard way like you, now over 500hrs all is good. you too will get there, good luck!!!!!!!
I was taken for a ride in one of these things. We smashed in to a large tree on take off about 60 feet up in the air. We crashed down through the tree and the canopy of the chute caught the top of the tree and stopped us from smashing on the ground about ten feet from impact.
You can push on that stick a bit more, don't be afraid honey. I'll be right here. Any time darlin. I hate the thought of paragliding cos the wings collapse so easily. Fly utralights if anything!
To all of you who mentioned not enough throttle I have good news. You are all winners and you get a free ride. I'm much better now really. No more crashes, really.
lol great comment . PPC is a lot of fun I used to fly a lot when I lived in NM.now that I am in Utah and living at 6500ft asl I have switched to an ultralight it will go much faster, but I do miss my PPC Low and Slow :)

Looks like it was overloaded a bit. Not a serious accident anyway, paragliders could be much nastier...

That clearing doesn't look big enough to take off from.
