isn't it ironic that the only people who complain about "material greed" live in developed first world countries and are generally part of the middle class? you don't hear third world impoverished people complaining about material luxuries because they can only dream about them.

capitalism leads to less materialism over time as people begin to value non-material goods such as knowledge or spirituality more...you are a shining example of this.

we 'complain' about materialism because we have seen the injustice of a system that allows a privileged few to have whatever disgusting desires they may want while the great majority doesnt even have what they NEED. we feel ashamed to be able to own ANYTHING as long as there are people dying of hunger for the profit of corporations.

Corporations are state created and state protected entities. What you seem to be talking about is state capitalism, or fascism. In a free market businesses must compete to serve the consumer through voluntary contracts.

The word capitalism has so much stigma it is almost worthless to use it. I don't care what you believe, if you fully oppose the state then you are an ally of mine in the battle to end human suffering.
