For those who don't get it, this was a stunt to create a media event, the cosplay maids were just a prop.
The plants are rice and it was ready for harvest. The woman at the start was demonstrating how to cut the stalks and then hang the bunch of stalks upside down to dry as some farmers in Japan still do. The video would have been released to coincide with harvest time.
This is an event named "akihabara sai yen keikaku". It means raise a vegetable in Akihabara. There are so many costumeplay girl waitress cafe in Akihara that we, NPO organization Licolita, decided to ask girls raise a vegetabels.
