Why is the first picture at 0:25 different than the end result at the end of the tutorial ( 4:12 )? The first one looks better in my opinion.

This is way too complicated.. Its much easier to just make the second layer gradient overlay and the mode overlay or something else..

the rainbow effect came out very linear, how did you get your example to be more radial? when I tried to use the radial gradient, it blended the colors more. I have PS Elements 8.

Hey man, great tut, but it would be much faster if you would of simply set the rainbow layer as a clipping mask to the eye layer. Would spare you the precious time you spent on inverse selecting lol

i suggest first making the eye black an white so the rainbow color doesnt come out with a blue tint, other than that great vid, 5*

You could put the effect "polar coordinates" on the color to make the rainbow go around the eye :)

That is becuase you are making a shape. Pause the video and make the top settings the same as mine or if not, keep doing it with the black shape but turn the opacity to 0% so you can see what your doing.

Just an extra step:

when you have your rainbow-colored layer, you might want to consider doing:

Filter-Distort-Polar Coordinates-Rectangular to Polar

this makes the stripes and colors go out from the middle of the picture - and i think that looks cooler than vertical colors
