  • You should be more concerned with the ST elevation than the PVC.

  • ouch! :(

  • are you ok..right now?

  • Wat!?!? I don't want her to die I hate it wen ppl are to jugemel

  • heart attack

  • i find heartbeats really creepy

  • That PVC abnormality is dangerous... I hope your allright but that particular if I'm not mistaken it can cause verticular fibrilation u better be taking good care of your self... God bless u ^.^

  • That was CREEPY 

  • This guy's heart just SQUARE WAVED!!!!

  • That is seriously scary LOL

  • although not a 12 lead you have peaked T waves so should get those checked out. Peaked T waves can mean your sodium potassium pump in the heart is (what makes each cell in your heart contract) is not getting the correct mix or sodium or potassium this can be diet or other conditions. However, you need to get this checked out if left it could possibly be unhealthy for you

  • @johnp7620

is it normal to have PVC that last for 15 seconds? I'm serious... when I'm having it I feel chest pains....

  • PVCs are a big deal if you are having Rs on Ts

  • what does a pvc do exactly

  • Usually not much. But they can, if they happen right after a healthy beat, disrupt the T wave (that little bump after the spike), and thus disrupt the repolarization of the muscle. This can cause severe dysrhythmia that can often result in Vfib and death.

  • PEOPLE STOP SMOKING BECAUSE ITS GIVES CANCER

  • Looks like unifocal pvc's (same form)

    usually harmless.

be carefull what you eat or drink. caffeine could cause pvc's

your heart seems to be beating fairly quickly.

  • How do you make this Video?

  • i thought PVC was pipe

  • @slowshow111 it is too

  • @alexpsp15 Slow is good, it means he is fit ;)

  • @slowshow111 lmaoo xD

  • is the PVC an Extrassystol?????? i v got that shit too. all 3 Month

  • what does pvc makes , funny sounds between your heart beat , or a miss hit , or something about the rytmus ... or , what is it , does to you ?

  • go to your local cardiologist and get an ekg

  • I developed PVCs in high school (high scholl = high stress, go figure). I was ave'ing 3 to 4 a MINUTE! Sometimes more. After high school they dropped off to about 10 a day or so (at least the ones I notice). For me it's not the PVC itself I notice, it's that first beat after the "what just happened" pause the heart takes. Big thump.

  • I have PVC's too, a few a minute. They are a bit freaky to listen to :S

  • Omega 3, start getting loads of those supplements, measure your blood pressure and see what it is.

Have a ultra sound of the heart and do a stress test with your cardiologist as well.

  • The t wave is elevated

  • apart from the pvc, your heart beat looks and sounds healthy, strong and regular.

but i'd still make sure the pvc's are checked by a cardiologist.

  • PVC means premature ventricle contraction.

  • what happens when you have a pvc?

  • PVC ?... Poly-Vinyl Chloride...

Make a pipe with it !

  • @LtteBuster LOL!! i'm a plumber, and a nurse at the same time.

  • Haha, good one. :')

  • i have to get that test todayy, im so scared.

  • i had never heard of PVCs before. I have palpitations and sometimes i have a triple beat, then nothing and then a really big single beat before it goes to the usual - i found that worrying and went for an ECG but apparently it is fine and just a sign of stress, so now i try not to think about it.

  • Wow, I was told exactly the same!

    Take care ;)

  • thank you, you too :)

  • i have had 8 heart attacks and i am 26 i have alot of pvcs a day 600 pvcs in one day and i have heart probplems and asma so

  • so... stop smoking ;)

  • It would be nice to see a 12 lead ECG of this person, and see how the U-wave looks in V3.

  • Kinda reminds me of a hypercalcemia... Or maybe a mild TSR.... Hmmmm...

  • I love your heartbeat, it's relaxing. That really sucks about the PVCs.

  • PVC's are basiclly skipped beats. Can't that kill you?

  • whats a PVC?

  • Polyvinyl chloride

  • ok ty

  • Another meaning

    Premature Ventricular Conraction

Its that PVC shown in the vid.

  • PVC = Premature ventricular contraction

  • Nice. I get these sometimes. Mostly when im stressed or haven't gotten enough sleep.

    Welcome to college life eh?

  • think must relax

  • Looks like sinus tachycardia, t waves look tented, and u waves. What was K+ level? PVC or artifact, can't tell, but it's not happening very often so it's not a big deal. I don't see any AV blocks, PR interval looks fine but would have to be measured to confirm first degree AV block, there is no progressive lengthening of PR and no dropped QRS so no Mobitz I and no Mobitz 2 b/c no dropped QRS anywhere on EKG, also P waves and QRS follow proper order so no 3rd degree AV Block.

  • I have PVCs and Tachycardia. Normally one will happen but not the other- I've had more runs of Tachycardia than anything. but I take beta-blocker to stop it. If it goes on too long then I go to the ER for them to check everything and to give Ativan if necessary.

I've also had a PDA repair when I was born and I was worried that it was coming undone- which isnt possible but i didnt know much back then. Ive had PVCs and Tachycardia for about 8 years now.

    Everyone take care-

  • thanks for your post. most informative. you have a nice outlook on things now. good luck.

  • I agree, PVC's are scary, so are PAC's but they are not a medical emergency, usually they are caused by anxiety or too much caffene use. I got them quite frequently when I had my anxiety and panic attacks not too long ago, perhaps you are overstressed? don't worry, trust your doctor.

  • what are PVC's and PAC's?

  • in healthy people they are totally benign, they are called premature ventricular contractions or premature arterial contractions, they usually cause sensations of an extra heart beats or a skipped skipped heart beat

  • the beating sound is relaxing, oh and do u have a heart murmur or something?

  • Hey man, I have the same exact thing. ..The sad thing is, im only 15. They worry me to, the heart doctors say im fine, and its not anything to worry about. And some days it wont be bad at all and others their horrible. It feels like one day its just gonna stop for good... and that scares the hell out of me.

    Good luck with yours man.

  • The Dr's are right when they say that its not life-threatening, but if you do suffer from PVC's (premature ventricular contractions)then the Drs should look into it further: there are treatments available. The most common one is being given betablockers, not all may be effective so its a trail and error thing :s alternatively a good thing to do is cut high startch foods out of your diet (also high carb foods) this quite often helps! hope u find this useful :)

  • also just making sure you have a good electrolyte balance, stress is a factor as well

  • Listening to a heartbeat makes me think about the mortality of man.

    It's kind of scary.

  • i think about my mortality alot mabe 10 times a day! up until about 13 i didnt give a shit too!!!

  • goes with toccata and fugue

  • ectopy with compensatory pause :15.... well you have occasional pvc's ..... look into getting a AICD in your 60's

  • is it just me or did your heart start to speed up?

  • the P wave, QRS, and the T WAVE

  • your heartbeat is calming!

  • Now I got to look up and read what is a PVC is about. Interesting...

  • I drink so much espresso, I wonder how many PVC's I have a day. xD

I hope you figure out what is causing it or that everything is fine! : )

  • My heart pauses too...every 4 to 24 beats it pauses. pulse rate at resting is 110-134 bpm. Dr. at ER says its just palpitations. Eventhough I am caffeine free and easy going person. I do have Multiple Sclerosis symptoms though. WTH?

  • I had the pvc thing and was told it came from stress and caffiene, so I cut them both out as much as possible. Weird, but after about 6 months the pvc's did go away. Over time I got back into caffeine and the pvc's returned when stressed. Again, cut them both out as much as possible and they went away after a month or 2.

So, that combination (stress and caffeine) causes them in me.

  • I think I might have the same thing. A PVC is where your heart feels like it stops for just a second, then keeps going right?

  • wow its weird but the sound of heartbeast calm me down idkw♥

  • You should definately ask your doctor about the PVC'S you dont wanna take a chance and fine out later, that what was causing it was an AV block.. leaving an AAV block untreated, causes the muscle to die and "burst" then blood leaks into the pericardium, causing asystole.

  • pvc is not what i think it is it?

  • what does PVC mean?

though your heart is working normal

  • PVC = premature ventricular contraction

in every couple of beats there will be an irregular heartbeat...can be triggered by stress...anxiety...drugs...lack of sleep...

it is an intresting case but need abit of history...lolz...

    but thanx for the video...

  • if there's an irregular heartbeat in EVERY couple of beats, it's called 'bigeminy' instead.

PVC can either occur at random intervals, or in every concerrent beat.

  • lol, u cant be professional with that name lol

  • 1 you have right

    2 you have right

3 you have right but i am not whining

4 i dont know very good english and i dont now the correct words for medical orologies

    PLEASE FORGIVE MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

    OK!

  • so! you are patient?

  • ...and although the PVC doesn't orginate from the usual place, the premature beat still produces a weaker-than-normal contractions in the ventricles, and should not be regraded as a stop in one's heart beat.

    3. im' not a medical student and has not received any proper training. stop whining.

  • look my friend i think you have right about the av block but i dont make a diagnosis i just say that im thinking ok i am not a doctor yet i am a student ok! so the mistakes are human if you have problem with that.... ante gamhsou ok!

  • i made faulty assumptions based on your 'vivid description' of the pt's condtion, just to show you your inabliity to recognise the nature of the pause.

    1. it's not 2nd or 3rd degree av block. p waves are regular, with 1:1 conduction.

first degree av block will not trigger a pause in one's heartbeat, and therefore is not a releveant diagonsis.

    2. you used the wrong word to describe the pt's condition. the heart doesn't 'stop'. ventricular contraction still occurs after the so-called "PVC".

  • look mabe you have a probelm call it Q.T syndrom

you heart stops for a sec and then starts again.you now it right? are you taking drugs for your heart or you make a surgery?

  • sounds more like an AV block to me.

sure, prolonged QT can lead to v-fib, but the situation won't correct itself unless followed by early defibilation. get your facts right.

besides, what makes you think it's long qt syndrome. the qtc interval cannot be determined. you need a 12 lead ecg to allow accurate diagnosis.

  • That was not a pvc... it was just artifact reading.. you can tell because the straight edges of the qrs comnplex!

  • Comment removed

  • what happens, or could happen, during a PVC?

  • Polyvinyl chloride... lol

  • Check your electrolytes if you're throwing PVC's.

  • what's this derivation?

  • Premature ventricular contraction...

  • Normal Sinus Rhythm

    ST depression,almost a strain pattern

    Q- waves sometimes

there are U waves, but that shouldnt matter.

    T and P look ok....you need a 12 lead.

Could be an RV overload along with your PVC

  • I have high blood pressure and am on Atenolol, which also just happnens to be a treatment for PVCs. Generally drugs dont do all that well with PVCs, Id could help myself and cut out the caffeine (I will take the odd PVC now and then over the blinding withdrawl headaache :) )

Also if your potassium is low this can cause that as well. Bascically anytime you dont have enough water/electrolytes.

  • This sounds like a tape I made back in 1987 when I was in high school. I could feel a THUD in my chest every once in awhile, finally figured out it was my heart doing it (could feel the "effect" in my neck artery and it kinda gives you a head rush)

Yours sounds precisly like mine. An early beat, a pause, then a hard beat then normal.

I used to have 5-10 a min, now I have about 5 a day. High School = Stress.

  • hmmmm...

    U-waves,

    ST depression,

    Q- waves sometimes

    ...need more leads!

ST seems to be depressed after PVC's. :/

  • All right

    I see.

  • a PVC could be normal or at least is usually normal, everyone has those at least once in their life times, still to be on the safe side, why not do a check up..

  • I think it's an artifact.

  • I've never seen pvc's look like those.

  • I'de get those checked out. I hope everything is all right.

PVC stands for premature ventricular contraction.

  • Are the t waves supposed to be that pronounced?

  • at 00:14 a pretty girl passed by and his heart skipped a beat. =]

  • a girl? this guy already has a girl to care about. it is the enterprise.

  • um ok......? ur kinda weird....

  • look at his name... ;)

  • if that is your real heart are you on PCP

  • lol

  • Premature ventricular contraction (PVC), also known as ventricular premature beat (VPB) or extrasystole, is a form of irregular heartbeat in which the ventricle contracts prematurely. This results in a "skipped beat" followed by a stronger beat. Individuals with the condition may report feeling that his or her heart "stops" after a symptom.

  • no i definatly think there is some afib because the p isnt nice and round its just messed!

  • There is no afib you idiot, look at the beautiful p waves and R-R is regular. Preventricular contraction (PVC)St depression you would need to confirm in combo with other leads, and Q waves happen, again on certain leads....

  • Yo, what does PVC stand for?

  • Very cool!!! Please... do more. :)

  • it sounded like it stopped at 00:14 and 00:29

  • I am an EKG tech and I would kind of be concerned about having more than one PVC within such a short period of time (ie, less than 45 secs). Might not necessarily mean anything but I would still be a little concerned. Plus it almost looks like there's some atrial fibrillation between each QRS complex. I'm not a cardiologist but that's my opinion.

  • Only a couple of PVCs, nothing to worry about! You do have what looks like slight ST depression and a few prominent Q-waves, but overall I'd say it's most likely benign. What are you using to obtain this, an LP10? Anyway, cool stuff! And seriously, don't worry about the PVCs! :)

  • hey ronkirk1701!

very nice video. how did you record the sound? what kind of ECG are you using (brand + modelname)? i had over 20.000 (twentythousand) ventricular extrasystoles / day (ventricular bigeminus as well as short ventricular tachycardias) and am being treated with flecainide. see my videos for more details. :)

  • that t wave is a bit elevated...We had a Patient with a 2.60 sec pause. The doc says to me.."ehh we all have pauses so stop freaking out". lol..he's a bit of a quacky cardiologist.

  • I'm only 14 years old (I know my profile says 18 but I'm really 14.) and I get these all the time unfourtonately. At least I know what this means. I before called it a 'big heartbeat' but now I know it is a PVC.

Is it normal for a 14 year old to get these often (like once a day)?

  • Having a single PVC once a day isn't bad. Even having a PVC couplet or a run of V-tach once a day isn't bad at your age. It happens to everyone. I'm a healthy 19 year old and I have PVCs here and there. No big deal. Don't worry about it! :)

  • Thanks, that makes me feel better.

I haven't been having them very often lately, usually like 1 every week or 2.

But a few months ago I had like 3 lines of PVCs (one after another) which scared me and I thought I was going to die.

But I haven't had any like that since. :)

  • Are you a complete idiot. Yes everyone has an occasional PVC and that is normal, but not to have them so close together. And you are the dumbest person ever to say thata run of V-Tach is normal. It is never normal to have a run of V-Tach infat it can be deadly. Dumbest saying ever!

  • not that bad, however always check your heart before starting sports.

  • don't worry too much about the pvc's. I have had them all my life and I'm 33 yrs. old. Everyone gets them at some point or another.

  • Oh its so nice!

  • pre-ventricular contraction basically the ventricles contract before they have blood in them which means no blood gets pumped out. nice vid. make more?

  • Nice vid, the sound is great. what's this PVC thing?

  • A PVC (Premature Ventricular Contraction) is when the ventricles contract prematurely without impulse from the SA or AV node, If you had them very offen such as an Ventricular Bigeminy (PVC everyother beat)or

polymorphic PVCs (PVCs that look different from eachother) or PVCs that land extremely close to the T Wave or, 3 or more PVCs in a row (aka: "A run of V-Tach"), then you might want to have it looked in to. otherwise PVCs that dont happen very offen are harmless

  • My heart does this about 3 times a minute, but it can very. Some times I go days with nothing. Other days this (pvcs) seem to happen often. It's like I'm slightly out of breath and someone's pressing on my chest. I can run 1/2 mile without problems and i'm 34 years old, but not a "heath nut". I don't smoke, drink or use drugs.

  • You should go see a doctor and get put on a Holter monitor. It is a little device that you wear for a few days to catch your heart rhythm when it happens.
