  • No problem. How's your hair doing?

  • thanks for answering my questions :)

  • did you cut your dreads?

  • @familyguy15 Yes I did.

  • @awash77 why? and do u plan on doing them again?

  • @familyguy15 As my hair got to the length I wanted it I realized that I really prefer it loose. I like to comb my hair. I like to wear afros. I cornrow my hair now. At this moment in time I don't plan to do them again, but I'll never say never.

  • @awash77 one more question lol did you have to cut all your hair off or you combed the dreads out? i have dreads to im at a year and a month

  • @familyguy15 No problem. :-) I cut most of the length of them and combed the rest out. I now have about 5-6 inches of hair. It's not long at all, but long enough for cornrows and nice sized afros. It took FOREVER to comb out that amount, a good 3 weeks of working at least 1 hour each night and more on the weekends.

  • lol gurl u r a nerd !!!! id like start my locs semi freeform next time

  • @RootsRunDeeep lol :-) So funny, next time I start, I think I'd want to start with twists.

  • Very beautiful!

  • @janake7 Thanks!

  • Your locs are BEAUTIFUL!! they are looking great are these your free form locs because if they are I might want to try free forming instead.

  • @Zaebolista Yes, those are from free forming.

  • dreads looking gud

  • @ThePrettiboiDee Thank you!

  • ohh looks so much better now

  • @gabedamann Thanks. I did end up combining some that were too thin. If I were to do it over again, I would do them larger.

  • how do u get them thin like that???

  • @freedomrff I was very obsessive about separating my hair in the early stages. I went through my whole head and made sure nothing was starting to lock that was too big. Now, of course, I wish I wasn't so extreme with things, because some of them are too small, in my opinion

  • Thanks 1Sw33tBerrie! I think they've come a long way too.

  • Wow!! Your locs have come a long way. Great job, they look amazing!!!!

  • arent you glad you made it pass those first stages, cause they had to be rough for you.. but your happy and it all the disguse you got from people, negative comments etc.. it all paid off

  • @Goldnlyric

Yes, I sure am glad I stuck through the not-so-comfortable times. I am so content with my hair right now.

  • I have been following your videos and your hair has come a long way. Your hair is gorgeous. 2 years went by fast. huh?

  • @supervirtuouswoman

Thanks, it sure did go by quickly. I'm so happy with my hair.

  • BEAUTIFUL!! You go girl.

  • Hi. I cannot hear your video because I am deaf. What I would like to know is how often do you wash your freeformed dreads? BTW your dreads do look lovely. I can't wait till mine get that long.

  • Hello Royce Warren. Thanks for the compliment. When I first started I washed my hair 3-5 times per week. However now I wash it once a week on average (sometimes I go up to 2 weeks without washing), and everything is still going well.

  • So you never twist your hair and thats how it came out? Looks great

  • You're hair turned out Lovely! I felt the same as you when it comes to not spending all day in my hair...this is the way to go! Thanks for the inspiration!

  • Thanks W1zdom1

  • where are you now adays...i want to see your hair...like once a month please!

  • I appreciate the interest in my hair and updates. It's just that at this point, I've kind of lost interest in posting hair updates. :-/ I still love my hair, of course, but posting updates not so much. Even the last couple times I posted updates, I didn't really know what to say, nor really have interest in it. Also, I have other interests which are kind of taking over. The biggest one is Spanish. I am determined to be fluent, so I spend a lot of free time doing that.

  • Relative, you have a beautiful spirit. I watched the 5 month video and am so glad you followed up. Your hair is really beautiful. It's growing wonderfully. I locked my

hair myself just following it intuitively and it looks great and is very healthy. My secred? Coconut milk deep conditioning with honey. Super soft hair!

    Peaceful Blessings

  • Hmmm ... you may have something there that I may need to try. My hair feels dry at times. Cocunut milk & honey?

  • love tha locs

  • Nice locs!!!

  • Your locs look great. Congrats on your second locaversary!

  • 5 STARS*************

  • no disrespect, but whens the last time you tightend them???

  • @saczfinest i think your missing the point, if you've seen awash77's other videos, you'd know that she's taken a freeform approach to locking her hair.

  • never, she freefrom

  • Beautiful! You hair matches your personality and lifestyle...carefree. How I envy you :)

  • Y'all are killing me with the comments. Thanks. :-)

  • wow. your back! Dreadlove sister.

  • :-)

  • As a fellow "free former" who started from the VERY beginning (completely bald, stopped combing my hair, washed it regularly, etc.), I have to say, I highly appreciate your vids. There really aren't a lot black men and women that post "natural dreads" videos.

  • Thanks! I'm glad you appreciate them. (Sometimes I wish I started shorter, and didn't separate in the beginning, but we do what works)

  • You're very welcome :)

When you say that you wish (sometimes) that you didn't separate them, do you mean that you (sometimes) want them thicker? If so, why?

  • Well, I think I was a little obsessive about separating (they can't be too big. they can't be too big). None of my hair is thinning now, but I think some of them are too thin for my taste, so I'm in the process of combining. But it's no loss, I'm just combining now.

  • Alrighty then. Sounds like a plan :)

  • I am jelouse don't ever swing ur hair like that again

  • Ha ha, lol

  • You look great!! You still got that little voice in the background =)

  • Of course! She's never going to stop.

  • love the locs!!!

  • Congrats! I've enjoyed seeing your locs mature.

  • congrats

  • Congrats!!! Very beautiful!

  • Thanks everyone. lilmary90, yup, you were one of the people I was thinking of.

  • your locs look great!....you have came a long way since the very beginning.

  • Congrats! It looks wonderful and a true testament to how if you let its hair do its own thing, it knows what to do!

  • YaaaaY I'm one of those ppl! :-) Congradulations! You're hair looks awesome :-)

  • Oh, what a delightful video! I enjoyed watching, and I am particularly happy to see how lovely your hair looks. :-)

  • I love your hair. You look so beautiful!!!!!!! Our natural hair is powerful!!!!!!!!!!! You'er a good example for black women. May God bless you and keep you and give you peace.
