definition of wankers/ style trend we'll remember from the '00s---idiots in ny, london, frankfurt, sf, paris paying hundreds of dollars for these fisherman/gardener GUMBY boots and thinking they are stylin'--what a laff.
@markmarktarmann Lol I don't even think so. He seemed to have naturally great hair... It's not very different on behind-the-scenes footage or pics. On the other hand, I'm rather impressed by the wigs they wear (especially Eric who almost always wore one). In many movies, even modern ones, wigs are the only thing that look fake. Whereas those the Pythons used in the 1970s sometimes looked very real...
@ChachouMiaou do you know vince noir? one of the 2 main characters from "the mighty boosh", the best english comedy series since python. check it out if you have not yet.
if you appreciate big hair as much as it seems you do, you'll love vince's.
@markmarktarmann Actually, I didn't know him, but he was on TV at the very moment I read your comment (talk about synchronicity!) I'll try to check the show ;) I really do not like his hair at all, though. That's why I said it looked nothing like Idle's to me, because Idle's hair (although of course it must have been styled for the shows) looked naturally great... Vince Noir doesn't seem to have naturally nice hair, it looks 100% fake which is everything I don't like...
Still after having watched all these seasons like 3 times each, i still consider this episode the best: the chemist's, the aftershave boutique, the Pythons jumping in the street with their pants down... Overall just a perfect episode !
@enendra I don't think so. He's credited as Stanely Mason, who was not in any of the Harry Potter movies. Mind you, having, say, John Hurt or Jim Broadbent in a Monty Python sketch would be sweet.
i don't know if i explained this but it comes from the joke "if I could walk that way I wouldn't need baby powder". Like the person has a rash or something on their thighs, he asks for cream or something, and he says "Walk this way" as in walk the way that I'm walking
It's a variant of the classic vaudeville gag: a man walks into a toiletry shop and ask a saleslady "I'd like to buy some talcum powder please." The saleslady says "Walk this way, please." and the customer says "If I could walk THAT way, I wouldn't need the TALCUM POWDER!" This was the customer's way of saying that the chemist walked like a woman instead of a man.
and here I was thinking the weather unit would never be good for anything...

"If I could walk that way I wouldn't need aftershave"
I can't understand what he meant by this line. Anyone care to explain?
feipang 3 years ago 2
Thats quite simple: Its because of the fact, that the phrase "walk this way!" has two meanings: 1. to walk in a direction, 2. to walk/move like...
this joke is used sooo often (even by the Python`s) that they lift their finger (like Michael here) as a warning, not to use it again.
