The change will only be noticible when the mutation survives in the genepool over a large periode of time. That's why it is called evolution and not revolution. It's a matter of chance if the mutation has an effect at all.

Was the first form of what we characterize as "life" a complex multi cellular entity? I don't think it was. Most people would agree it seems to have been a primitive form of cell. Mammalian life also didn't exist prior to 200 or 300 million years ago yet reptilian life did...so how did mammals come about?

@rjhill95 - I missed, that Abu Anaki sopose to have 46 chromosomes, which means 23 sexual chr., and primates have 48 chromosomes, which means 24 for reproduction. If we fuse 2 pairs of chromosomes, we get 46 chromosome genom, which fits ours :)

However, we have a common ancestor, which means chimps and humans are two — probably of many — branches of an earlier ancestor. Genetically we need not look like them, but share certain attributes that can be traced back to this common ancestor for us to be related.

@dwhite1up Any theory is theory until proven to be either false or true — so you cannot say that it is no longer a theory, simply because no tangible evidence has been found yet. I do follow the series by History Channel, I find it fascinating, and the mysteries are intriguing, but I remain skeptical toward it as long as no tangible evidence is provided. That being said, if I should subscribe to any theory, that would be the one — for the sole reason that I find it interesting.

@Bullsfan2008DR I say the biggest evidence is common sense. If we evolved from a "common ancestor", then what did the first human born breed with? It would only have non-humans (apes) to breed with, and thus would not produce another pure human. When you cross a donkey and a horse it produces a mule which is always sterile. A human born in a world of apes would not survive, nor could it reproduce. Even if it could, it would just make another "species". The debunking goes much farther....

@BazzDolan I'm sorry but I don't see this slow evolution, instead it looks like leaps and bounds. Quite frankly,I'm beginning to think evolution occurs in discrete steps, with nothing in between. (from species to species - not within a species). Because evolution is not a true science - with demonstrable evidence that can be repeated in a lab, I don't think it should be taught outside of philosophy.

I think the science is just too young to make any concrete conclusions, so I've decided to withdraw my interest in evolution, as although I know it's popular in the mainstream, there are a lot of tributaries that lead nowhere. The change will only be noticible when the mutation survives in the genepool over a large periode of time. That's why it is called evolution and not revolution. It's a matter of chance if the mutation has an effect at all.
I agree that modern darwinism is not correct in every known species. But in most cases, this theory is the most plausible one yet. I should know, i study bioscience ;)

@buffboynick I actually have an extremely open mind and I agree that the macro evolutionary theory is flawed in a few ways. But you must ask yourself, how did life start on this planet? Was the first form of what we characterize as "life" a complex multi cellular entity? I don't think it was. Most people would agree it seems to have been a primitive form of cell. Mammalian life also didn't exist prior to 200 or 300 million years ago yet reptilian life did...so how did mammals come about?

@buffboynick .... speciation does not happen overnight due to species-transforming mutations , they accumulate over time, until some event (be it geographical or colonisation) causes them to isolate and evolve into a new species. So, in my honest opinion, aliens did not do that.
But, lets presume that aliens did genetically engineer us. Those aliens probably have DNA too, and they must have evolved also. Or have they been genetically engineered as well? Have the Gods been made by other Gods?

@rjhill95 - I missed, that Abu Anaki sopose to have 46 chromosomes, which means 23 sexual chr., and primates have 48 chromosomes, which means 24 for reproduction. If we fuse 2 pairs of chromosomes, we get 46 chromosome genom, which fits ours :)

That would still explain how we are similar to primates yet have the splicing and fusions of chromosomes, not to mention (I believe) 223 genes that are not found in any other life. @dwhite1up Any theory is theory until proven to be either false or true — so you cannot say that it is no longer a theory, simply because no tangible evidence has been found yet. I do follow the series by History Channel, I find it fascinating, and the mysteries are intriguing, but I remain skeptical toward it as long as no tangible evidence is provided. That being said, if I should subscribe to any theory, that would be the one — for the sole reason that I find it interesting.

I stand by the scientific method, I will listen to a theory and I will look at the evidence, and until such time as tangible or conclusive evidence turns up, it will remain a theory. I do find the theory fascinating, as I said, but nothing more than that.

It would only have non-humans (apes) to breed with, and thus would not produce another pure human. When you cross a donkey and a horse it produces a mule which is always sterile. A human born in a world of apes would not survive, nor could it reproduce. Even if it could, it would just make another "species". The debunking goes much farther....

(from species to species - not within a species). Because evolution is not a true science - with demonstrable evidence that can be repeated in a lab, I don't think it should be taught outside of philosophy.

I think the science is just too young to make any concrete conclusions, so I've decided to withdraw my interest in evolution, as although I know it's popular in the mainstream, there are a lot of tributaries that lead nowhere.
