In the mid 60's Todd Rundgren had a band called Woody's Truck Stop that played in Wildwood New Jersey. At that time it was not a town known for being friendly to longhairs. I was escorted out of town several times and I lived there. Hence, the song............

@stonerbudkap it's up a bit from the tip. the tip of Jersey is Cape May. Wildwood is about 30 or 45 minutes north of Cape May. As a family we vacationed there every year from 1956 to 1976.
Haha ! Yeah I hate them. To be honest thought i havent heard any of their stuff. (they're not big really in Ireland). I hate the whole concept of their existance haha!
I like mostly old music anyway. There are hardy any modern bands I listen to!
Well me too, only the old stuff, mostly from 1965 to 1969. But I think they put 'the' in front of the name out of respect. If you watch the tv shows they always say the pink floyd, the cream,...

Nazz Nazz was my favorite. We called it the Red record. I don't think Todd did anything remotely as great on his own.

Wildwood NJ is a resort town at the southern tip of New Jersey known for partying. Maybe these guys vacationed there being from Philadelphia.
stonerbudkap 2 years ago
Absolutely!
Wildwood was THE spot in the mid-to-late 60's especially.
Nazz did gigs there during the tourist months.

Evoken13 2 years ago
No?
Well, if you think this one's heavy, then check-out 'Under The Ice' from the same LP (I have it uploaded on my channel).
BritIronRebel 2 years ago
Oooops...sorry not from the same LP but from Nazz Nazz

Are you an English teacher by chance?
If you really want to be picky, I guess it should read:
Nazz rockED (past tense).
BritIronRebel 2 years ago
No i'm not haha i'm just 19! I just think it should be said right. They are called "Nazz" and not The Nazz!
clashboy1977 2 years ago
Yeah, that's correct (as you can see from the titles I used in my Nazz videos). But I grew up listening to them so it's easy for me to know that.
I'm pretty surprised a 19 y/o even knows they ever existed to be honest with you.
Kudos to you that you aren't clueless like so many teens are today thinking the Jonas Brothers are the greatest rock band of all time.
