@dsggful I think it was something like 45km/h (28mph). You can get more highspeed with longer gearing, but it will affect to acceleration and motor/esc temperatures.

i really wish hind sight 20 20 that i got the 1/16 slash instead of the e revo just because the revo is very annoying gettting it up to high speeds because u always pop the front up... and i believe that the slash is more stable turning as well

C&C Sidewinder Combo ($100)

LiPO 5000mAh ($50)

LiPO Charger ($100)

Acoms Technisport 2.4Ghz ($100)

Be aware that Sidewinder combo has pretty weak BEC so fast servos (0.10s/60degrees) doesn't work always flawlessy. There is no problem with slower servos.

ok... I have been running my t-maxx for a while and love that you dont have to recharge, just refill and go. How much run time do you get on the slash for a charge? I have been interested in getting one but im not sure if I want to deal with the short run times. I do know that different batteries will run longer.

Ni-Mh gets about 30 min. slowly decreasing speed

LiPo batteries are the best, and if you want speed, go with the Brushless motor, otherwise, it doesn't matter. The stock motor on the Slash is waterproof, but i'm not sure about the brushless.

I have been looking at getting a Slash for my local hobby shop's races. Rules are very simple (STOCK!!) the only thing you can change is the radio and the battery has to be 8.4v Nimh or 7.4 2cell Lipo. What is better Lipo or Nimh?

LiPo. I got both lipo and nimh, lipo goes faster and loads quicker. But Nimh is good choice for a starter.

Thanks. I was at the race on Saturday and got 6/8 first time on the track. I will say that the Nimh 8.4v that I used was good, but the Lipos were lapping me. I also need to find a way to keep the truck from noise diving (my biggest problem on the big jump.

You might wanna add some preload spacers to rear shocks and maybe remove some from front. After that rear will not bottom out to the jump so harshly and you can get more controlled airs. And if you aren't already using "gyro-effect": keep the throttle on when you take off of the jump. It will keep the front up.

In general, best position to fly rc's is when your front is little bit lower than the rear. In this position car shouldn't start "floating" in air so easily. Hopefully this helps. :)

Thanks. I did add a lot of the spacers to the front and back (I will try and remove some from the front). The way I have it now, if I hit the jump at full-throttle I drive, but if I hit it at 50% throttle I roll over the hill. I will try the spacer and hope it will keep the front up. thank again.
