I would say the odds of the baby being injured by gun fire are far less than by the animal due to the unpredictability of the baby not the animal. I dont think you understand my post. And besides, the baby wasn't even the reason he got pulled over, nor did the cops know the babies' condition until they let the dog at him. And even then, I don't think it was dying. It was breathing steadily, but didn't respond. At that age, I'd say it was probably shocked by all the commotion.

The man was obviously a great danger to the baby as he showed no mercy for it by running from police at high speeds. What more evidence would you need before concluding this baby was in great danger?
The baby was unresponsive. Does this sound like a healthy situation? I have never seen a baby that was unresponsive. If I did I'd call 911 immediately.

The high speed car chase was probably the worst thing they could have done. Back off, let him be, get him for the crimes he's supposed to be booked for at a later, calmer time. When you have a situation which a child is involved, people are more prone to feel more personal about it. that said cops thinks that gives them full access to take out personal grievences on this person. Maybe the baby! 3) If police had to shoot, the baby could have been injured. 4) The dog is trained to attack adults, not babies. 5) What other options did the police have? 6) The police were at the baby as soon as that dog had grabbed the guy. 7) My post was partially in jest and did not really pertain to the proper usage of police dogs.

I would say the odds of the baby being injured by gun fire are far less than by the animal due to the unpredictability of the baby not the animal. I dont think you understand my post. The reason why most animals attack children are not because the animals are hostile its because the child/baby overeacts around the animal and makes the animal aggressive.
