  • i dont Fcking know japanese!

  • Fine somebody to translate it !

  • why the fuck is the tite in english... and the video in japanese? How stupid are you?

  • is there an English version of this video, because it looks very interesting?

  • translate someone pls

  • is there an english translation version?

  • i wish this was in english

  • X4koslrrwp ROTARY ENGINE ryxtkslxßer3x9r...;-)

  • Filmed with a potato...

  • good points on this engine

    .

deceiving insurence companys and tax has this engine is class as a 1.3

    .

    bad points

    .

if the engiene goes wrong you need to send it back to mazda as no other mecanics in the world would be able to fix it .expect 3000 bucks to fix minor engien problems

  • Mr. Spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarkle!

    watch?v=VUNHwP2q7bA

  • @jackson92119 probably dumb people running smog after a cold start they run really rich until heated to proper running temp, that's why people flood them alot from turning the car on then off before it's warmed up

  • @jackson92119

thats not true i have a 88 rx7 and it pass with flying colors!

  • whats the maintenance costs like with these cars?

  • @samartz Expensive they need expert servicing and regular oil changes, and they are not 100% reliable. worked on many of these cars they are a bitch, cant really understand the appeal other than the novelty factor of the rotor, there are far better alternatives in my opinion.

  • @samartz just keep after the oil changes rotaries burn oil so the oil may require being topped off every 1k miles but you can't use synthetic it shrinks the rings me personally would take all that plastic from under the hood so I can look around the motor for any oil leaks from the seals or dowel pins between casings rotaries can be just as reliable as piston motors but they require attention if you want them to last if you do your reading before purchasing you will have know how to make it last

  • In fact, it is possible to increase the compression by turbo.

  • not how, but what?

  • I have one. It's like shrinking yourself really small & driving your blender.

  • It's a good car but its soft suspension is keeping it from turning those corners better. Plus the newer ones are expensive holy shit.

  • @abdulios the expensive ones you're talking about are the R3 edition.... the normal touring 8's are still in the mid to high 20s brand new

  • @rotor13 Actually here in Canada the base model, which is the r3 model, starts at 41 grand. :(

  • @abdulios

then what is higher than the R3?

here in the US the R3 is the top of the line and also at the $40k mark... we have base, touring, Grand Touring and R3 iirc......

  • @rotor13 The GT Model

  • @jackson92119

they will =D in the new mazda rx 9 or better sayed the new rx 7 that will come out, will have the wankle motor for bencin and diesel =D

  • these rotary engines are shit in winter, hope the new design improves better.

  • @armanimpressions disagree completly.. my best mate has a rx7 and its done 198000 miles and not broke down once.. my dads got an rx8 and its been brilliant for three years.. he drives it everyday and its briliant in the winter..

  • @armanimpressions

tell me..... how are they shit in the winter?

  • oil eater

  • @jackson92119 I don't know how they do things around the world. Here in Finland, all rotary engines are completely freed from all emission tests.

  • help if it was in english, since most people speak english

  • oh bull, i cant understand XD

  • Wheres english!!?

  • @jackson92119 They actually developed a Hydrogen rotary. It would be hard to creat a diesel rotary because of compression, atleast that's what I think.

  • @racingisnotacrime21 Correct, diesel and low compression = impossible.

  • @heniadir they tried the diesel rotary once back in the day, it was overly complicated so it never worked out...

  • @wtfyourafuckindoosh

you must be talking about how rolls royce tried to create a diesel rotary by using one rotary as a high compression supercharger, and the other as the actual engine

  • @rotor13 yea thats the one. they proposed it as a tank engine lol. pretty neat idea but so complicated

  • @heniadir why does it have low compression? why can't they bump it up?

  • @hhn2002 It's normal for Wankel engine, low compression is also reason for flooding if you do not pay attention.

  • @heniadir so much bad information. While it is true that it would be quite difficult to achieve 14+ compression ratio to make a nice diesel engine, the Wankel is the worse candidate for such engine cause of flame speed.

flooding is caused by cold stopping the engine when the engine is not warm enough to burn off most of the fuel at the beginning of it's warming period.

  • @racingisnotacrime21 Rotary engines, like the two-stroke work on expansion, rather than compression. Diesel engines crucially need high compression to run, so a rotary diesel would not work that well. Yes indeed, there was a hydrogen rotary and although it worked well with the rotary concept, performance was significantly reduced.

  • Rotary wankel AKA a food mixer!

  • Thank god its in English otherwise i wouldn't know what there talking about...

  • Is it somewhere in English?

  • @jackson92119 Rotary engine are all Euro4 and they produce few NOx, so also Euro5 but Mazda stop selling Rx8 in Europe because they sell few.

  • Lol i like when people ask "What you running in your car"

    and i say "2 triangles"

confuses the shit out of them. :)

  • @RotarFlow for those guys you gotta keep them simple. pretty and duel muffler and a pretty intake. nice vroom vroom. High octane gas

  • @jordan010203 so u didnt under stand sports luxury, mazda, rx8 etc DUMBASS

  • What did he said ??

  • @yagam1

    y?

  • then the facelifted one is called mazda rx-8 . hehe . coz the first generation rx-8 was half developed by ford too . so its messed up . problem is , ford doesnt know anythin about the rotary engine . tats why it doesnt turn out as good .

  • @yagam1 "the first generation rx-8 was half developed by ford too ." AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

  • @heniadir I know that Ford owns Mazda ... :P

  • @john4short 11% is not owns, and now will sell the rest of 11%.

  • @heniadir Thanks for the info ... :)

  • @heniadir actually Ford has a 33% stake in Mazda. And sometime just before the economic crisis overshadowing GM, Ford sold 30% of that stake back to Mazda so they can stay afloat and not take any bailout money.

  • translation please..

  • i heard these engines have a shorter life span and a standard engine

  • @BIGGIEDEVIL They can last well over 200,000 miles if you do certain things like frequent oil changes, using the right oil, warming it up, letting it cool down, never letting it overheat, revving it to 8-9k to prevent carbon buildup. Rotary engines are used in older planes because of their reliability.

  • @NiTeHaWk4787

Well true, to a degree. Using the correct oil is good for any car, as opposed to the wrong one, oil changes are the best thing you can do for a car as well. And the carbon buildup is easy to get rid of if you just hope on the highway and drop a gear for 15 seconds. No need to redline aggressively. And for the heat issue. as long as you don't floor it out of the driveway, you will fine.

  • @NiTeHaWk4787 - Those older aircraft engines are NOT rotary in this sense. They have cylinders!

  • @Cholmeleian The old "rotary piston" engines were reciprocating pistons arranged in a circular pattern instead of lets say a "V" pattern

  • @BIGGIEDEVIL not really they can last up to 200 000 + if the owner keeps up with MAINTENANCE ...if you keep it going up to the redline obvously it goin break ...... advice never buy it from a dumbass teen

  • @BIGGIEDEVIL

It all depneds on how you take care of them. If you neglect them, like not checking your oil and stuff... well pretty much what Nitehawk said. It's just more finicky. But the engines are amazing by design, revolutionary really.

  • All this stuff looks very important to first time RX-8 owners, any chance that this info is somewhere in english?

  • Would be a great alternative to piston if it wasn't for the bad mpg.

  • wish it had subs...

  • I want one so bad...

  • @KiberneticTiger Buy one! I bought one 2 weeks ago...it goes like a rocket and sounds like you have a superbike under your bonet. Im so happy everytime i drive it haha

  • @MattShep85 I'm kinda 13-years old so i can't , Yet

  • im guessing this is japanese ;D

  • @sahilms Yes! Mazda is!

  • Can we get this in english? There are many interesting things that i can't understand unfortunately :(

  • damn i need to learn how to speak japanese

  • you'd think it would be in english....

  • @Misiekgren

Why? This car comes from Japan.

  • @tasatasat yeah I agree but.. i sure dont understand a damn thing they said, and I'd really like to :)

  • @Misiekgren

It's pretty much just talking about basic care for the rotary engine...I guess that's pretty obvious from the video though. :)

You might be able to find this video online with subtitles. It's a pretty interesting and informative video.

  • @xstr33tr4cerx dude dont waste my time.

  • what about mazda rx8 engine life? 100 000km or less? or more?

  • @carlitos1259 Wrong. With proper maintenance, non-turbo rotaries can make well over 200,000 miles without much problem.

  • Funny how aji8 makes comments about all the rotary motor videos on youtube, yet doesnt have one upload of any of his cars, if he has any. Upload some videos of your own cars or go troll somewhere else.

  • northern ireland use mph and the republic of ireland use km/h

  • I agree aji8 hate rx8 couse he doesn't know anything about cars or he cann't afford to get one . i love mine is a pleasure to drive turn heads. check mine:

    "rx8 mx5 my sport cars"

  • too bad they didn't make a twin turbo1!!!huh

  • what's that about the car not starting up, something with pressing the gas pedal, and winter?

  • @Jukonja As far as I understood, if you flood the engine (easy in winter), floor the pedal, and run the starter engine for about 8 seconds, then completely switch it off again, and try to start it normally again. If you touch the pedal during starting, the car will have trouble starting. Also in winter, be careful which oil you put in. the manual has a good table at the back regarding oil types.

  • this engine produces less horsepower and WAY less torque AND it gets worse fuel mileage..... why does Mazda use it?

  • @julingy huge powerband and rev range . . . .

  • GAWZILA IS A COMING

    ching chang chong

  • Please check out our newly revamped Mazda USA channel and subscribe. Zoom Zoom.

  • God watching the innards of that engine move is hypnotizing.

  • Where is the English translation?

  • thats what i wanted to know, as soon as he spoke it thought "ahhh japenese"

  • Nice!

  • yer im 6'4 and i have plenty of knee space and still room for a girl in the back.

  • are you sure?? l am 6"5 200lbs l can't fit for shit in the RX-8 thoe l still wouldn't mind one

  • @BruceCountyFinest

if you cant fit in a rx8 what car can you fit in?

  • im guessing it all boils down to the ratio of your upper body size compared to your leg length. ideally u wud want a smaller upper body to fit in smaller sports car type cars, like the rx8??

  • @BruceCountyFinest i have one in my workshop right now, i'm 1.82m tall, my hair almost goes into the sunroof haha, no way i can fit in that toy!

  • I have no idea why 5 people would thumb down your comment, they must be idiots. I've made it 4 anyway.

  • can a guy whos 5'6 able to drive this car? stupid question

  • check uk top gear review of this. presenter jeremy clarkson (im guessing around the 6ft mark) fits in it easy...

  • Jezza is 6 feet 5 inches!

  • he also made positive reviews about it :) He made it sound as a lucrative investment to anyone who may consider buying one

  • well for entertainment, the reviews that get shown on tv on top gear always have a comical aspect and a bit of nitpicking here and there :p and as brits we always pick out the bad things.but yeh on the whole he said its a great choice of car coz u get great value for money plus it still remains fairly practical with 4 seats :) i dnt have a full licence yet (provisional and learning 2 drive at the mo) but when i pass and have enough money, im getting me one of these :D

  • aji8, I'm sure everyone enjoys and respects others opinions regardless of the subject on YouTube.

Personal insults like you directed at me are not the type of thing I would respond to. But It's unfortunate that although I respect your opinion it's rather obvious you don't afford me the same.

Without question if the only way you can differ from others opinions is by calling them liars and stupid certainly shows that you have a great deal lacking in your vocabulary. Have a nice day anyway.

  • Comment removed

  • Suck balls aji8 if u aint got a clue dont bother commenting. Got a pettit charged 8 spent £12,000 on gettin the car and charging it has 320hp and use it everyday owned for 3 years nufin ever wrong with it and tune and service it just the same as my gtr34

  • I did a great deal of research before I bought an RX8. I read 82 reviews from owners, with the exception of two owners the car got rave reviews regarding the engine.

Two common complaints, gas mileage and oil consumption, gas mileage is not very good but it's an engine that needs high revs and it does need the addition of oil between regular oil changes.

Those two complaints are common regardless whether you own a 2005-2010 I own a GT model with the luxury package, fun to drive, a nice car !

  • @aji8

big words.. show your car.. i bet, u have just a mountain bike..

  • Well it's okay to express opinions and we should respect others opinions regarding the Wankel engine.

My neighbour is the head technician at a large Mazda dealership and in seven years has not had an RX8 in the shop with a failed engine.

Mazda also extended the engine warranty for late model RX8's to 8 years or 100,000 miles, they must have confidence in their product to do that.

Consumer reviews also state that incidents of engine failure with rotarys are no more common than pistons.

  • Well, you are a liar. Wait until your engine goes. I am laughing at your stupiditiy now and will save some for later when you have to rebuild or replace your engine.

  • Better learn how to rebuild the Wanker engine if you own one.

  • @aji8 Dude seriously dont your worthless ass have anything better to do then to go on youtube and knock on rotarys all day long. Man you must be a 40 year old virgin that lives in your parents basement and watches youtube and porn all day long. Seriously GET A FUCKIN JOB ALREADY YOU DAMN BUMM.

  • How about you get a clue. Don't you have a rotary to rebuild again...LOL

  • rebuild them if you treat your car like a dumbass, if you know how to operate your vehicle, it won't be problem.

  • LOL..I can abuse my piston engines without a problem. I think you need to quit making excuses for the glass Wanker engine.

  • @monkeyboy882 so what does that says about the guy knocking on the guy who knocks on the rotary engine?

  • no you dont rebuild, mazda replace them

  • its not that bad on oil used at most about 1 litre per month unless u drive evrywhere at 9k revs

  • I liked the Rx7 a lot better because it was faster, bigger, and it was way better at drifting. I think that car was awesome!

  • whats with the gas pedel thingy at the end ?

You do not floor the pedel while starting because the mixture would be to rich ?

  • its the dead petal its basically a foot rest for when your not pressing in the clutch

  • @GlennnD It's because modern cars have a computer which will fiddle with the throttles when the engine starts. If you drive an older car if you don't use the throttle or choke it simply won't start unless it's a warm day, and even then it'll take some time and luck.

  • aaah ok thanks ! :)

  • well well well..

i guess u just have that bad sense of taste eyy??

  • This car must be fast, I've had a civic hatchback with only 70 hp, and it was pretty fast, and it weighed like 2200 LCD, this car had like 3x the power. The renesis rotary engine is only like 1.3 l in displacement. American cars need like at least a 4.6l v6 to accomplish this power and usually weigh a lot more, that's why the rx8 has been disqualified from competitions or races, cuz it produces too much power for engine size, so think before you comment

  • lmfao 70 hp? you cant get much slower then that

  • 228 b.h.p.

  • i was talkin to the guy with the civic hatchback that had 70 hp

  • at the flywheel, and 180 at the wheels, the engine is undertuned quite a bit

  • you are correct, ive met some tuners and they tuned a new rx8 and they somehow got around 270hp with just tuning

  • Yeah, mazda had to make the rotaries more fuel efficient or something. The RX-7's were nightmares in snowy conditions

  • Yes, but the rotary engine is bad because you constantly have to buy oil for the car because the rotary engine runs mainly on oil instead of gas, and speaking of gas, this car is a gas guzzler, and it takes up more than a minivan. That is the only bad part I know about this car, but other than that, this car is cool!

  • @TheGamerPlus Uh... it burns a tiny amount of oil along with gas, only a fraction more than a piston engine. You need to check the oil every few fillups, and add maybe a tad now and then. Also, I get 21 mpg with mine, and thats with mostly city driving. Don't believe everything you hear about these cars till you own one.

  • yeah once you get in the swing of topping off the oil every 2 fillups, it becomes habit

  • It is a nice car, but much too heavy..

  • Dude..this is one of the lightest cars around right now lol

  • No, you can compare it to an Opel speedster, that has only about 1600 pounds. The RX-8 has about 3000 pounds. MUCH TOO HEAVY!

  • 2050lb. That's still pretty damn light but with only 197 hp...meh lol. Even considering the weight of the car, that isn't fast enough for most people.

  • what do you want with 2050lb?

my old 626 was about 2400lbs and it was driving about 230kph. It had only 90hp. Think about what it was able to do with the double amount of power.

I think you have no idea about speed.

  • What does any driver want with 2050lb? How exactly can you justify having owned a 2400lb vehicle that only had 90hp and talk to me about speed? I'm not trying to be an ass I'm just saying haha. My current car (C5 Vette) weighs a little over 3200. I also consider that light. That's the main reason I bought that car as opposed to any of the heavier "sports cars" around today. In all honesty, I don't care how much power the car has. No point in owning a 500hp beast that weighs 2 tons.

  • What do you think? It was my first car. Now I have an MX3 and it has about 300hp. More power than the RX-8, a lost less weight and much faster.

A car with such a low amount of power does not need to be so heavy as the RX-8

  • u are just sad.

  • In a nutshell, lighter cars are more agile, and stay glued to the road, and i like that aspect. Hence the reason why I'm looking at rx8 videos lol.

  • Who the hell weighs their car in lbs and measures their speed in kph? This is just confusing.

  • that are typical units in northern europe.

  • Nope.

ONLY Uk (EIRE maybe) lbs&mph, rest of Europe km/h & kg

  • Comment removed

  • Only UK, not Ireland

  • Comment removed

  • No Ireland is richer than the UK and the USA ha ha...... fact..... I was in the US for first time recently but you guys are having a hard time.

  • Japan like to measure their speed in KPH.

  • But the Japanese don't weigh stuff in pounds which is my whole point.

  • I got an email from you stating Ireland was in the UK, get a history book and look up the war of independence, The hint is in the name REPUBLIC !!!! of Ireland, Northern Ireland is part of the UK. Get it right, my grandfather didn't fight for nothing so you can come along and say that. Rant over.

  • That's exactly what he did.

  • your a mong, get your facts right before posting you ignoramus

  • @davediesel90 Hey dipshit, I think you meant "you're", and probably meant "Hmong".

  • "you're" half right, MONG will do fine, its vernacular for retard and nothing to do with ethnicity, I know what Hmong means and a little about their culture. Fuck off and learn a little about the world outside your own country dipshit and don't presume to known what others mean. xtelevisionset is a retard and made a blatantly incorrect comment, anyone else?

  • Your grandfather fought for nothing. He's a worthless sack of shit.

  • Once again you prove my point with another incorrect posting, man you're so stupid you were biting the shit from under your fingernails until your social worker showed you to use toilet paper to wipe your hole, LOL what a fucking joke. Your attempts at insults are akin to a 5 year olds, grow up and get some education.

  • What you fail to realize is that I'm getting you to do exactly what I want. I'm manipulating you.

It must feel pretty terrible to be controlled by somebody whose intelligence is similar to a five year olds who doesn't have any education.

  • not just japan, almost all the countries in asia use kilometer

  • nice shoes...................

  • The Mazda RX-8's Renesis engine sounds so good, I would definitely get this car
