life saver and signals are to advise road users, not only who you can see at time of change of speed or direction. Just because you cant see a hazard does not say there is no hazard.

I guess you don't HAVE to give one - it might be different here in Ireland, but unless I'm wrong, it's good practice to give a lifesaver when changing lanes and turning.
It was a new Autocom system I was trying, or was it because I was sniffing two days of unleaded petrol, or was it 4 star mixed with a bit of oil......

The lanes we were on were not particularly narrow, so yes a 'wide' car for the uk.
