  • And that 1 person who disliked just ruined the plan to make this the only few video to have 0 DISLIKES!! damn...

  • The description was very informative. I didn't know the reason why this work and why they made it this possible. I did the same tutorial, before watching this. (with the correct math comparison of the other small T flip-flop). However, there is still one thing i miss in the description. Credits for the genius who originally designed this. Do anyone know who Mr. anonymous is, so i can give him the well deserved credit?

  • to see an example watch lets play episode 11 i think for the light switch right Rolf David?

  • This is now bugged as of minecraft full. Piston at the end of the output redstone will remain in a perpetual active position. This can, however, be remedied by replacing the output redstone with a repeater.

  • kan du göra en svensk vidio

  • I would never had tought this thing would come in handy, but now, thx a lot

  • great intro

  • SIDENOTE: Since 1.8 pre release number 2 (meaby 1) this has been fixed!

  • Comment removed

  • edge triggered d flipflop!!

  • I don't understand the point of a T Flip-Flop; why don't you just use a lever? Someone please answer!

  • @HaIoReachForge Because if you use a lever, you have to turn off the lever to be able to turn off the system. With a T-Flip Flop tough, you can turn off the system from several inputs. This is useful in bigger circuits.

  • @HaIoReachForge Because most minecraft players, including me, will not be happy untill things look the way we want hem to. A lever looks ugly i.m.o, a button is so much more compact symmetrical stylish smooth. all that. =)

  • Funkar inte!

  • I thought it was my facebook chat for a moment :P

  • You said length pulsener xD

  • 100th like

  • Te-tr-is

  • yea, this doesn't work for me. The block sticks to the piston no matter what

  • @CtrlAltDeleteStudios and the piston doesn't stay in one position, it retracts and then pushes the block out again.

  • GUINNESS!

  • 0 DISLIKES! CMON GUYS LETS MAKE THIS VIDEO THE MOST LIKED VIDEO ON YOUTUBE EVER WITHOUT DISLIKES! (Of course some douche will come in and dislike just to be different...)

  • @Flipybitz I approve! ;-)

  • @sirdavva lol 1 dislike

  • can you make one that works on servers?

  • @ImBaLaNcEs24 perhaps next week =)

  • does not work on server :(

  • But it's also best to also remember the usual red-stone t-flip-flop.

  • you deserve so much more views...

  • @wakerzeco Äh! I am happy with those I have! =D though ofc I want more!

  • 2 by 2 by 3 by 2?

  • I was wondering how small you could make a toggle with pistons. That is so awesome. Smaller and faster than with just redstone. Fav'd!

  • What computer do you use??

  • @mastercork889 3.3GHz Quad Core CPU, nvidia quadro FX 3700 GPU, 8GB RAM etc etc

  • @sirdavva that sounds quite good I have a bit worse computer but almost the same. It's a glitch that whenever a piston has two seperate inputs at the same time it retracts but not taking the block with it.

  • @sirdavva does JB Hi Fi sell it? Cos my sister works there and I get discounts *Wide eyes* Or is it alienware?

  • @mastercork889 No idea, this one is bought through Dell.com

  • @sirdavva Hahahaa... Btw,, Nice vid. And If you do end up going to MineCon,, Ask notch to do MineCon Australia and come to aussiee!!

  • Love you man! more LP's! :D

    thumbs upp!!

  • Although it was a glitch at first.

  • I don't think it;s a glitch. Notch is aware of it, and I think (not sure) that he said he wants to keep it because it compacts many redstone designs.

  • The design is 2x2x3x2 ... yeah, fourth dimension T flip flops!

  • @Thungon217 We are taking it to the next level ;-)

  • I checked my facebook at 1:22

  • Two by two by three by two... wait, what?

  • @WhutsUrNaym Yeah we are playing around in 4 dimensions here ;-)

  • 4:38 proves that canadians aren't the only ones to say eh. Lol (I am Canadian ftw)

  • @jakieboy1111 northern europe... good metal. canada... good metal. hmmm....

  • 1:44 *sniff I'm so proud xD

  • @MrInfernow I have a post-it on my computer screen now that say "Extend" ;-)

  • @sirdavva Nice

  • "someone just wrote to me on facebook as usual" lol people have facebook open as if it's second nature to them.

  • @Yamaftw420 Easy way of communicating =)

  • @sirdavva Next gate should be: Random Number Generator!

  • Next week do the Rolf-Gate.

    Invent something! :D

  • 0:55 "teh-trihs"

  • It is a lovely design but I tried to use it in my seed/flower farm in SMP and the darn thing just wouldn't work.

I tried 4 type of t flip-flop using this piston "bug" where de sticky piston moves too fast to keep the bloc attach to it or whatever and none of them worked :(

  • It's a game bug that makes this work.

It's a mono stable pulse sent to the piston. The piston code actually destroys and recreates the "pushed" block (which is why chests aren't pushable, too much data to "move"). Well, if the piston is pulled back before the "new" block is recreated, then it comes back empty handed.

The next time it pulses, the block is already there, so it grabs it and pulls it back.

  • @TheKalmier Yeah, I've heard about that buplicate bug thingy. Never tried it though. It's good that people know about this stuff so that they can inform me! ^^ Thanks mate, when are you uploading your next video?

  • did u by any chance get the idea for this from ethos's light sensor? i love its implementation in your hidden staircase by the way, that was brilliant

  • @MAGNUMandBARRETTA Nah this design has been around longer then his light sensor =) But the light sensor is really cool!

  • I've seen a smaller one that doesn't have the block moving near the input

  • @bruzewski How small?

  • @sirdavva It's 1x4x3. I can't post a video response because my minecraft ussually runs at around 10 fps, but I can take some screenshots of building it and send them to you if you want

  • @bruzewski 1x4x3 is as big as the one Rolf made... lol learn to count

  • Can I send you my compact T Flip-Flop design?

  • @Alex123Random make a movie and post as a video response! =)

  • Ah i Forgot TEH brewery FINgy... I LIKE BEER

    lol

  • @jordanlovesdubstep I do like beer.

  • Who else went to switch tabs when the facebook message played? :D

  • is this based on a bug or glitch Im not sure so don't take it for granted :P

  • @sirdavva YAY T Flip-Flop thanks Rolf-David

  • @Mr55Bro I think you answered to the wrong guy ;-) but who cares!

  • lol, when i heard that sound i checked my facebook. No message, Forever alone.

  • @GHTincorporated Hmm I've seen it work on the server I play on. But I guess it depends on the server. But to answer your question. Yes, there are other piston t flip-flop logic gates, I simply picked this one cous it's small.

  • How many people checked there facebook when you heard the notification pop? lol

    Good vid btw :)

  • @robertprpic01 As several people already have stated. Yes, yes you can play minecraft with your account on any computer that has it installed. Though your world save will be saved locally on each computer.

  • Or you could... You know... Use a lever?

  • @klingon13524 Buttons look nicer.

  • @TheKrisSmitty They do don't they!

  • @klingon13524 Yeah but there are other uses for T Flip-Flops aswell where you can not use a lever =)

  • @sirdavva How about if you want to use Etho's light sensor? That can't be used with a lever, it uses a t flip flop.

  • @fraserelliottguitar You just proved MY point, didn't you?

  • @sirdavva Yes, I meant to click reply to klingon13524's comment...

  • @klingon13524 There are some implications and uses of T latch Flip-Flops like say if you have another circuit like an RS nor latch where you can wire up redstone to the flip flop instead of manually using a lever

  • I believe Tetris is pronounced ''Tättriss''.

  • Who else checked their facebook?

  • The reason why this works is because of an old bug in 1.7 where you can duplicate blocks(like in kiershars video). Notch fixed the big by not allowing sticky pistons to stick to a block if it retracts after 1 tick. The pulser or mono-stable circuit built in the T flip-flop gives a 1 tick pulse so that it doesnt stick to the block after pushing it. If the sticky piston is in the retracted position though and extends, It can still grab the block which in turn gets powered. Thumbs up?

  • @paulramones9 Aha, so that means that it might not be removed... not yet anyway.

  • WUUUT, I thought someone pm'd me on FB XD

  • @Rubdos Hehe ;-)

  • Make a Xor-Nor-For-Tor-Mor gate! ;)

  • @MrElitErik aka a Rolf-David-Super-Gate?

  • david kan du inte göra svänska videos :D

  • @MegaCss1337 I think I'll stick to english ;-) my Swedish viewer base is only a small part.

  • Plz do a D flip-flop at the next time

  • @Taouri05 Perhaps! =)

  • The sticky pistons dont work with one tick pulses anymore because the infinite block makers abused delays of one tick. Jeb made them not work with one tick pulses to fix it as he couldnt find another way.

  • @Radical011Y Aha, have he posted that in a tweet or something?

  • @sirdavva Yeah, he said something along the lines of they werent meant to be able to move that fast anyway so he changed it so the gltich didnt exist but created a whole new one in the process

  • @Radical011Y that was like ages ago? when the infinite bug existed?

  • @Decodeish1 But im saying sticky pistons dont work with one tick pulses...thats the reason

  • @Radical011Y I see what you mean. :p

  • this is rolf-david, over and out... ...again. I lol'd so hard

  • @cbolton97 ;-)

  • @sirdavva

    heeeeeeey stop!

minecraftaddict showed a very much smaller

    its sticky with minecarts

    and works genious!

    use it!

    show it!

use exclamationmarks(i cant remember how to spell it)!

  • @10BITable He's got so many good videos! Which one are you refering to? =)

  • @sirdavva ill post a video reply ;D

  • I had facebook open in the other tab while I was watching this. When I heard the notification sound I was so confused when I checked facebook and I had no message.

  • @Hmanrez Fooled you! =D

  • Good one.

  • @DesProfile Thanks!

  • I love this intro! Haven't seen it in a while :D

  • @RyanMathewHarding Hehe ;-) I will hopefully get new intros sometime in september!

  • ya i guess it doesnt grab the block back because it only gets a 1 tick pulse, which is enough for the game to move the blocks over but not for the piston to actually be fully extended. Thats cool :D

  • @CommanderSwedePlays Sounds like a good explanation.

  • There is a even better piston t flip flop that i know of, and only 3x4x1.

  • @RatedTwo The volume of that flip-flop and the one I made would then be the same =)

  • @sirdavva but the one he founds better doesn't need a repeater

  • this is a better version then the one luclinmcwb has!

it just amazes me how these things get better and smaller as they go along.

the one i have on my map is huge and complicated.

cant wait to change over to this model and be the red stone genius in my group :P

  • @wantsafriend Do it! (But tell your friends where they can find me ;-))

  • @sirdavva awww.....

FINE i owe you you that much :P

  • Aha finally the T flip-flop! And are you gonna do two LP's a week please do it!!

  • @TheNL1980 There will probably be 2 LP's a week when I am done with the piston logics =D

  • Comment removed

  • second video i tabbed out to my facebook

  • @TheWalkerboh65 Yes! Fooled ya!

  • i checked my facebook. But then i remembered i have no friends....

  • who else checked their Skype when he got a message?

  • @ace363760 It's a Facebook message ;-)

  • Comment removed

  • the block has to much speed to hold for the sticky piston

  • @flixis12 Yeah... Don't really like it =P

  • David? minecraft4kids is up to date ;D you should get it ;)

  • @nicolas94h yaaay minecraft for kids is the best! I have been waiting for it forever

  • @nicolas94h I'd use Rolf instead of David if you're not using the entire thing.

  • @ADRockstroh Congradulations?

  • @ADRockstroh I don't really care if people say Rolf or David, but most people call me Rolf so I answer better to that ;-)

  • @sirdavva That is kind of my point. ^^

  • @nicolas94h Hehe, perhaps I should. Though I am kinda enjoying the Standard textures atm! =D

  • why this doesn't work for me i do the same, but the piston just closes faster and i add the repeaters on 3 so HELP

  • @watmaniser Are you playing SMP or SSP? have you placed the torch on the backside of the buttonblock? have you put the redstone beneth the same block?

  • @sirdavva i play ssp, and i did the same what you just did? O.o but anyway i just like the video for you ;)

  • ... You're a genius!

  • @ProCrumpetsHD Hehe ^^ I wouldn't say that myself

  • dude if you dont want super pcik or instantmine to break a button or lever then right click and do that on doors

  • @LordIan155 Sorry, I don't wuite understand =/

  • @sirdavva i meant super pick and i meant left i always get them confused on mice lolz (my mouse: example)

  • @sirdavva er yeah i just mean super pick you can right click

  • @LordIan155 You can? Need to try that =P

  • @sirdavva keep telling people lolz

  • @robertprpic01 yeah you can, i have it on both xD

  • I have a more compact one. Do you need it?

  • @DesProfile Make a video of it and post as a video resonse! =)

  • @DesProfile yours, is crappy, and is slow. this one is smaller.

  • @robertprpic01 you can, just remember the acaunt name and number

  • At 1:18 I thought it was my facebook :(

  • @TechnicalMinecraft Gotcha! ;-)

  • @robertprpic01 Yes, if you buy Minecraft, you can log in on any machine which has Minecraft installed :)

  • Comment removed

  • @robertprpic01 why not buy on the newer better computer

  • whats the use for a t flip flop? y dont use rs nor latch?

  • @Superbowserfreak11 It's basically a RS NOR latch, but you add a contraption that switches between two outputs, which will be set and reset. So you have a RSNOR, but the set and reset works with one button. It acts like a lever, but you can reset it from else where.

  • @Superbowserfreak11 one input insted ot 2

  • @Superbowserfreak11 They are quite similar, but the T Flip-Flop only has a singel input. A T Flip-Flop is basicly made out of a RS NOR latch and an AND gate.

  • Notch will put the banhammer on the bugged piston.

  • @LeapingDodo Perhaps, I myself would be to sad if it was removed. Simply cous I could consider it to be a bug.

  • looks at description, ah good old football.... broke my shins...

    (football=soccer if ur U.S.)

  • @treeklimbers Yeah for my American subscribers and viewers, when I say football it's equal to your soccer. Don't know why americans call their sport football when they barly use their feet =/ but who cares! ^^

  • Its TET-RE-S

  • i saw the piston not stick to the block and i was like "WUUUUUUT"

  • @xpericfilms It's been done before so many times.. it shouldnt be so surprising
