  • if i had a snake it'd defienetly be a gaboon or rhino viper. i love the patterns and head shapes <3

  • I'd love to have one of these. But cannot see where I can get one.. I'm suprised the Mouse took so long to die.

  • i keep hotts aswell nice vid an gabby for people that shun us for feeding live prey well hey sorry sum snakes refuse pre killed alot of viper species have a hard time with pre killed jus do to the fact it isent warm enough for the heat pits to pick up an a gaboon isent a viper its an adder they lack heat pits

  • Aw it's so chubby, cute. fave snake ever!

  • awsome!!! that snake is so cool! can,t wait to see more video,s

  • i bet its times like this snakes think " I could sure use a pair of fucking hands right about now!"

  • This is a little sad for me... But I love snakes and mice. I was looking at kio and got here. Nice snake!

  • have you heard of grasshopper mouse and would you feed the gaboon viper one they say the grasshopper in not afraid of venemous snakes...

  • Don't think the Gaboon unloaded all its venom. Had it, the mouse probably would have died with seconds. Unbelievable how much venom a Gaboon can inject.

  • @TheTemest There's a drop of fluid under the mouse. By the surface tension I doubt it's urine. I don't know what venom looks like, but what else could it be? By the way, more important than how much venom goes in is where it ends up. If the fang penetrates the heart, lungs, or skull, it's all over for the mouse. I forgot what it's called but there's one vid where the mouse goes instantly into siezure. A few seconds later it stops moving and you can see blood dripping out its ear.

  • @cliffwalkinfool I've seen that vid. As you say, it was almost instantaneous.

  • nice gabby

  • Man why people feed live food when there are frozen meal for snake?

  • @LemonSkyline

Because some snakes will refuse pre-killed food no matter what you do. While pre-killed food is the best option, feeding the snake live food will ALWAYS be a lot better then having the snake not eat at all.

  • @HitomiNoRyu just like my turtles but i dont feed them live fishi can't stand watching a fish get killed cuz I always have mutiplie tanks of fish. Isn't Gaboon the most king of all vipers?

  • @LemonSkyline

There's nothing wrong with not liking to feed anything live. I respect that but I wanted to address that there are certain situations that you can't avoid this and you can't pass judgment on others before knowing the individual circumstances.

The person who uploaded this video even says in the comments she only STARTED with live food and then got the snake into eating pre-killed food. There's nothing wrong with that!

  • anyone who owns a gaboon viper is STUPID one bite and you are deffinetly dead. why would you seriously own one?

  • that is a awsome snake!

  • Mad Props

  • the viper is smiling @4:56

  • Pathetic. One of the most beautiful creatures on earth and for $125 you get to ruin it's life. For the next vid maybe put your hand in. That would be interesting to see.

  • @qthth How is this ruining the snakes life? If properly cared for that is. Honestly, your prolly doing the snake a favor keeping him safe from other dangers in the wild and providing a consistant meal. Sounds like he has got it made to me.

  • I have seen a lot of comments in a lot of videos about snakes being poisonous. No snake in the world is poisous. They re venomous there is a big difference, look it up. A healthy adult could milk the venom from a snake drink it and survive. Venom has to be administered to the blood stream to be fatal

  • @tinytomlinson thank you! i cant stand when people get "poisonous" and "venomous" mixed up! everyone should know the differance!

  • Interesting Fact: The reason Gaboon vipers hold there prey is because they utiliaze their long fangs and use them as spears. They try to kill small prey items by puncturing internal organs instead of using their venom. They do this because It takes them so long to build up venom that they would rather save it for larger prey items. Nice snake by the way...

  • "dude, do mind, I'm still alive here?"

"dude, sorry, but I'm like sooooo hungry right now....you have no idea"

  • You don't need a permit in SC.

  • Beautiful<3 I love the solenoglyphous snakes! This one has the longest bloody fangs of them all!

  • he was still hungry thats why he was looking up at you :P

  • how would one be able to own a gabbon viper!? do you need to be like a herpatoligist (srry if thats spelled wrong)! to own one? Im sure most states and towns have laws against owning venomous reptiles. i know some hbave a limit on how big a pet snake can be. but nice snake!!!

  • You need a permit.

  • very nice gaboon i'm sticking mainly to rattlers and copperheads right now maybe a gaboon down the road dont quite know if i'm ready yet (check out my vids i have some of my venomous)

  • what would happen if they accidentally bit themselves..?

  • nothing...their bodies have a natural antidote to their own poison, plau, I don't think that would ever happen...

  • I thought most snakes eat there prey head 1st!

  • its not retarded if you know what your doing.

my step dad has one of these guys and she is gorgeous and very nice, devenomised of course. alot bigger of course and very heavy, but she is a very nice snake.

  • defanging is very bad and snakes grow back fangs any way but lots of times die from infection

  • he said devenomised, not defanged, rather than taking out there teeth they take out there venom glans so youll still get a nasty bite just wont really harm you

  • beautiful snake i want one so bad

  • Venom isn't instant death but sure in what it's designed to do.

  • where did u get a gaboon viper!?

  • dat takes 5 years to eat a darn mouse

  • holy shit that rat would not die lol nice vid

  • Hi, funny incident: I just got a book on snakes for Christmas since I've always been fascinated by those creatures (I do NOT wanna have one as a pet though^^).

I did know this snake was incredibly poisonous but is it true it can kill a grown man instantly??!! It's written in my book but I can't actually believe it - or let's say in 2-3 minutes or something, without the antidote?

Best regards & Merry Christmas from Hamburg

  • I Feel Sorry For The Little Mousy!!!! xx

  • I never saw a snake eating it's prey tail-first. Maybe I'm wrong, but I heard that their food can damage the snake's organs if swallowed backwards...

  • The problem is you can't hold vipers. It is defiantly a beautiful snake though.

  • OMG, amazing snake!!!

  • i cant have a snake...

  • I got mine from the Hamburg, PA reptile expo.

  • is that snake poisinis. how much is it. is it nice do you like to hold it

  • Yes, she's venomous. I paid 125 for her. No, I do not hold her..I tend not to "play" with my venomous snakes.

  • dude feed her f/t. i'm not one of those animal activists or anything. i just don't wanna see such a gorgeous gabby get bit or maybe get a parasite from live prey.

  • I do feed her f/t now. She wouldn't take f/t when I first got her. All of my hots are on f/t now.

  • thats good.

  • Most snakes won't take a prekilled unless you move it around for them. I don't think I'd recommend having your hand inn there to move around a prekilled for a venomous snake.

  • well you'd deserve to get bit if you were stupid enough and too cheap to buy a pair of hemostats to feed her with. haha.

  • dont ask if a snake is poisonous.....you sound like a retard a poison dart frog is POISONOUS

    a snake is VENEMOUS

  • you are a fucking dumb shit butt fucker. just because its a snake doent mean its poisinis. you herd of a python or a boa or a anaconda ect. go fuck your mom and your dad at the same time and no i dont want to go out with you, i am not gay.

  • dude you are such a jackass....what i was saying is that snakes are not poisonous thats how its spelled, not poisinis you retard

animals become poisonous from the things they eat usually and cannot inject you with it most of the time a snake is born with venom glands

and i know what constrictor snakes are im not as dense as you are....

  • sorry for being a dick but i thowght what you said was kinda rude so i jumed at u sorry

  • Oh...mhhh, well, I'm german so ignore any specific words I used to describe a snake's poison...^^

  • venom..........

  • @snakeladyshannon do you know if there are expo's in Ohio and where... i live in Columbus

  • @snakeladyshannon I HAD A SNAKE WHEN I WAS YOUNG...I GOT RID OF IT BECAUSE IT IS DOWN-RIGHT MEAN THROWING ANOTHER ANIMAL IN THE TANK WITH NO CHANCE OF SURVIVAL!!! YOU ARE A SADISTIC PERSON AND I HOPE YOU FEEL THE FEAR THAT MOUSE FEELS WHEN YOU DIE! HAVE A NICE DAY!!!!! PSYCHO-PATH

  • @hawkman2443 Learning the truth about nature is psychopathic? Last time I checked, life had a 100% mortality rate. BTW, hawks eat mice too.

  • @snakeladyshannon burn in hell psycho-path

  • @hawkman2443 just the food chain brother. Its how nature works, sorry mate.

  • that mouse is having freaking muscle spasms lol

  • makes me miss katie. i used to have a gabby, but had to get rid of her with new laws...she used to strike and when she caught the rat, she'd shake it from side to side like a dog, then bend the critter backwards from nose to rear and swallow it stomach first. she was a scary little girl!

i actually got my gabby from a friend of mine who couldn't handle her anymore; where did you get yours?

  • i like how they hold on to them.the funny thing is i know a copperhead who does the same thing

  • y did it take so long for the mouse to die? I thought gaboons had highly toxic venom, that is my fav snake I just couldnt feed them the live mice

  • It might be the fact that when something dies, sometimes its muscles and things still Wiggle, for a while,

  • that thing is coming from my country gabon right?? wait why is he eating that dude right there?? can t they be vegetarian?? like try to give him some salad

  • this is my fav snake. just abit unsure i can handle one as a pet.

  • Nice Gabby. I wish I still had my eastern diamondback. She was 5 1/2' with 1 1/4" fangs. I had to get rid of her after my son was born.

  • dont u need a special permit to own gaboon vipers

  • She's really not that bad. My desert horned is much worse.

  • im sure he is a big deal when u clean his cage r have to bathe him...

  • Like this snake and howdocastle ffs we are people who know how to use this snake and we are not noobs to be bitten......

  • nice gaboon, howdocastle what snakes have you keep? you obviouly arent well respected in the reptile hobby or you wouldnt make stupid comments. shannon are you the same person that goes to the king snake chat ?

  • howdoucastle..I don't appreciate that comment. I agree, and escaped venomous snake is criminal..but I know plenty of people who own venomous snakes and have never been bitten. It can happen, but it's nothing to laugh at. Thank you.

  • hey shannon, nice gaboon...they're my favorite snake...take care of her...don't listen to what howdoucastle says..it's people like him that get bit because they don't show respect towards the snake...please post more vids!! btw I love your snake's name

  • when you get bit - and you will I will laugh - as a snake owner for 30 years - bottem line is - its not if you get bit but when. also remember - an escaped snake is comical an escaped venomus snake is criminal

  • where did you get such a deadly snake? i mean you have some like permit er somthing right? if not im not going to be able to sleep for a while

  • this video = TOTAL PWN3GE

  • i dont see how you do it man i wouldnt want a snake like that a goboon viper is one of the most deadly snakes in the world

  • Cool snake. Unfortunately I live in an area where owning vipers, cobras or any venomous snake as pets is illegal. With rhino vipers you have to be very careful because the antiserum for rhinos are hard to find and it has killed a person a few years ago. Anyhow that is one cool snake!

  • Thanks! Will do. I have a few of my rhino viper eating as well. I'll try to have better quality videos next time.

  • This is a good video post more videos 5 stars

  • I will try to get a better one, sorry. The strike didn't go well..

  • there is no strike. 3 stars only.
