I don't know the song you refer to ... and I'd be surprised as hell if Joe does either. But pop and rock is all one big ball of influences, and there are but so many progressions in the world, so it's not unusual for several writers in disparate styles and places to hit on similar melodies at the same time -- maybe they both listen to the same records! Thanks for the feedback.
