Amazing graphics, great blocking and animation, beautiful soundtrack and immersion.
Horrible 3d effects, plot directly lifted from Pocahontas and Dances With Wolves, lackluster acting reinforced by mediocre directing and see-through 1-dimensional characters. Not to mention the laughably derivative message of white guilt and the idiotic notion of the 'noble savage' flooding through this smurf-fest.

@MizarShadow Did you not hear his very valid point on the story? The story of Horace ( the greek god) is closer to the story of Jesus Christ than any story is to avatar. Does that make the new testament any less of an inspiring piece of literature? Complete 100% originality doesn't mean that it is necessarily good. There are thousands of writers and directors with original ideas and stories who can't pull of what Cameron has. Cameron is smart enough to know that timeless themes work.

@BirthdaySuitUp The plot isn't the only factor to a movie. Movies started being made in the early 1900's and hundreds of thousands have movies have been made since then. Judging the fact we have seen so many movies and have experienced so much in our life, it's kind of hard to be completely unpredictable.
