Carole, that's just wrong. Breakfast cereals, lots of crappy processed foods and cheap vitamins have synthetic vitamins.
Here we go:
For example, in late 1995 a direct link between synthetic vitamin A and birth defects was reported as the results of a four year study involving 22,748 pregnant women. The results of this study show a 240% increase in birth defects when the women took 10,000iu per day and a staggering 400% increase in risk from taking 20,000iu per day of synthetic vitamin A.
The researchers were very careful to point out that the risk from actual foods containing natural vitamin A presented NO BIRTH DEFECTS!! No amount of naturally occurring vitamin A, even liver which contains as much as 30,000iu in three ounces, showed no evidence of contributing to birth defects.
I'm taking a high potency sports multi vit for bodybuilding and it's got no Vit A at all.Basically your vids say you need every vitamin available...I'm just going to get the lot and know that i won't have a deficiency in anything coupled with a super clean diet. I used to think all this was "hippy shit" but since quiting drinking and smoking and taking up the bodybuilding lifestyle people are telling me i look ten years younger... I do and I feel it too :)
I am a woman, women should not overtake this vitamin because it causes birth defects. However, I have been taking 20,000 IU for a week now, and all my lifelong skin rashes are just disappearing.
Your right. Women who are pregnant should always first consult their Doctor. Also good to stay at or near RDA which is about 5000IU per day. Glad to hear about your skin rashes disappearing. : )
You've been misinformed Carole. There were some birth defects associated with ** synthetic ** vitamin A. There are none associated with genuine vitamin A.
Vitamin A is essential for a pregnant woman. Because of the synthetic vitamin A problem, some doctors actually tell pregnant women to avoid vitamin A! That is exactly the wrong way to go.
Pregnant women and children also need lots of cholesterol; it's important for brain development. Trans fats may cause Attention Deficit in children.
Don't take EXCESSIVE vit A if you are pregnant, there is no such thing as 'synthetic' and 'genuine' vit A. There is beta-carotene and pre-formed vit A. You have to get into chemistry to work it out. You need to take 6 times the amount of beta carotene to get the pre-formed vit A. 5,000IU is the recommended amount per day.
I guess you can if you wish to. However it is best to get Cod Liver Oil at your local natural foods store. The best to get is Nordic Naturals Arctic Cod Liver Oil.
Hey guy's. Thanks for stopping by. I personally take about 12500 IU per day of Vitamin A. 1 capsule of Fish Liver Oil and 2 Cod Liver Oil capsules also. Yes Ramen 100,000 IU is way to much. I believe anything beyond 50,000 IU is pushing the envelope so to speak. Rheo Blair used to put his students on Vitamin A to insure proper protein metabolism and utilization.
HOLY HELL! Can you OD on Vitamin A? I've been taking about 100,000 IU's a day (20 5000 IU capsules)What about Vitamin E? I've been taking 8000IU's a day too... Thanks :D
According to Wikipedia the overdose amount is 25k per kg of body weight. Or 4000k per kg of body weight over a 6-15 month period. Don't know how this would work out for you.
Tyvm for the info ^.^ I was pretty worried... i dont know why i didnt just check wikipedia myself :S The thought never occured to me :S Well givin all that i'm still quite safe in fact (Love being a big guy X-D) but i'm so not taking that much anymore just incase ^^;
Don't forget carrots! :D 1 Cup of carrots contains 35,000 IU of Vitamin A. That's like... 686%DV!

Any thoughts on there being an organelle living inside your body/cells that migrates magnetically?
Are you keeping it moving as much as you used to?
As much as it needs to?
Can you think of ways to?
