Robin Frederick composed the song in 1966. Nick Drake changed one lyric. Originally it was: "I have opium in my attic and the marijuana blues". Nick changed it to the more fatalistic "No other life to choose", a lyric that everyone now uses.
This was written by Robin Frederick, who met Nick Drake in Provence. She also wrote Sandy Grey about Nick Drake - which was later covered by John Martin. I like this cover, you really worked it out.
Wonderfull singer songwrites.
