The gimmick idea for me is fine, not original but it could get over. The problem I have with it is ive seen Brodus do this now for 3 weeks and he still doesn't look comfortable with it at all. It definitely is not over with the crowd right now but it could get over if Brodus gets more comfortable with the gimmick. He just looks awkward out there right now.
Not saying the gimmick is good, but I am enjoying it so far. Its not original and its not different, but I rather see Brodus do this then be a monster. Daniel Bryan is playing a good heel. Is he the best champion right now? No, but he is doing an ok job. He has not lost a match since winning the title, I think.
Also a lot of WWE's audience doesn't care about wrestling, they are concerned with the characters. Over 40% of WWE's audience are women and children, this gimmick will get over because of them.
You lose all cred. when you assume WWE's key demographic is people like you. They cater to FAMILY, meaning they are trying to branch out and get new types of audience. Clay will already get over, people the PG fans love faces, he'll get over just because he has a personality. Again WWE PG is for people of all ages. Have a sense of humor.

It's not about catering to demographics it's about doing things that has logic and makes sense and so far WWE is hardly doing that, which is why their business is not going well for them right now.

Most of the stuff with Cm Punk had to do with logic, but he can't draw ratings. Ratings and PPV buys are not affected by PG, they had a little success with PG in the early debuts, but it is stagnant. I just don't think logic itself is going to improve buyrates, character development over time will help.

Who knows what could have happen? "They've been down for years", is that really something to be proud of?
