Oh wow, This brings back memories. I used to exclusively play naval forces, typically Axis, back around 2002-2004. I loved amphibious missions, as difficult as they were at the time.
Just for the Record. The graphics have been updated significantly since this movie was made. Please keep that in mind when watching this. Battleground Europe, formerly World War II Online, has the largest game map online, dwarfing all others. You would have to see it to believe it.
@3CBCO yeah, its amazing to think that the actual bit with all the cities (which is only 1/3 of the map) is countless times bigger than WoW and the map was done like 10 years ago lol.

The producers just released the most significant update / patch in the games history. If you like military history, and World War II in Europe, you will love this game. You should pick a side; Allied or Axis. There is a winner. Fight for your side.
played a few times over the years, now am sticking with it cause i can run it now. been playing too much all week, there is alot of downtimes but then at least 1 or 2 big fights a day with like 2-300 ppl. game is just hands down epic and the new patch does alot for immersion. the towns and trees still look dated but the new ragdoll physics is awesome and humorous. the blood splatters on walls, it really does alot for the game, and you can choose to turn those options off for better perform
Aircraft carriers did not play a role in the European theater, especially during the early part of the war when it was just Great Britain and France, trying to fight off Germany. This game starts in May, 1940 with the historical battlelines and equipment. American and Italy are not a part of this war, although some American equipment does get to the Allied team. Such as the Thompson SMG and the Sherman battle tank later in the game, if it lasts that long.
HMS Ark Royal did play a major role in helping to deliver a decisive defeat to KJN heavy surface action convoy raiders that were sinking a large number of war supply convoys from America prior to our official involvement in 41.
Carriers didn't play a major role in the Battle of the Atlantic but it was recognized that they would dominate the battle space. Due to resource priority in that battle, naval combat doctrine had to depend on surface action groups.
This was a great game, held my interest for a long time. Made a lot of life long friends, and spent a lot of time with guys twice my age i wouldn't of met other wise. Hiding in the bushes for 3 hours with Tooold while he told me naum stories made many a nights. Worth trying but do your self a favor and get a squad asap.

big battles ok thats all i needed to hear. i'm gonna give this game another go. the game had a population when i trialed in in 07 but my computer sucked and i was getting like 0-5 fps.. but now i think its been upgraded enough to run it better. i monitored PlanetSide all weekend (another MMOFPS) but couldnt find more than what seemed like 8 vs 8. i'm just looking for at least 50 vs 50 but the more the merrier IMO
This game does need a good computer. They keep upgrading it and adding more to it. The closer you are to a concentration of other players, the more likely you are to experience lag.
As for planetside and other games. There is only one game world in BE. It has the largest continuous game map anywhere.
thanks. i DLed this 3 days ago and i'm definately staying on. I have the patience required for this game. When I finally did start getting kills it was very rewarding. I love how powerful the rifle is at first i hated the rifle. But now that i seen what it can do I might just use it for good.

Awesome video. Like others have said, thanks for uploading this. The naval aspect of the game is something rarely seen on YouTube, and I've been getting interested in it recently.
Good video. I played this game in 2001 when it first came out. I was there when the very first ships were introduced, back then we had naval battles. I returned much later (2008) and I never saw one.
They still have ships, but not as many ship battles, I suppose. I tried one out, but it took me forever to get...well...any where, and encountered no one. Not even a trigger happy pilot.
you are missiing out those big naval battles are insane bullets flying everywhere planes bombing ive been into 2 major ones long ago it was pretty fun.
I was in ONE and it was intense I was in a riverine and man those destroyers can dish out some damage lol I got a couple shots off it was either the destroyer that got me or the stukas dive bombing us
I guess you didn't understand what the movie showed. The early scenes, showed Brit and French ships getting attacked and beat up. Then, "Battle Stations." And from then on, it was Allies attacking and knocking out the German Navy. I'm pretty sure I understood what ships were what as I filmed all the scenes.

I play WWII online,and i give this mocie 5 stars,
But i think it needs aircraft carriers, i hate having to fly a ahlf hour to bomb the palce and get shot down

This game does need a good computer. They keep upgrading it and adding more to it. The closer you are to a concentration of other players, the more likely you are to experience lag.

Ships, like tanks and bombers can be multi-crewed with two people. Normally, one person is on a ship and jumps between the different positions.
