One could say Death Metal or Melodic Death Metal or Thrash Metal or Metalcore (which is gay to me).

Shadows Fall, they refer to themselves as "just a Metal band". Which makes alot of sense when you think about it.

But actually what Shadows Fall really is -

"New Wave of American Heavy Metal".

& other bands that contribute just to that are
