  • very good friend.JIM

  • DUDE YOUR GOOD!!!

  • great job--i have been trying to learn this.. Cant find any good tabs for the way u play it.. Can u send tabs? It would be greatlly appreciated.

  • Thanks for the lesson it was helpful.

  • Hi, A last question. What tune do you hit after the hammer-on part? Is it an E or is it a C (I like the C better) ? If you like, have a look at my version of Ring of Fire (Search YT for Thommy P Trash).

  • awsome pickin

  • @HansGurtner

Very well done! Are you using a pick?

  • @youthomap yes

  • Really good job...I like the way you play it here and yes it does give it a snappy bass sound that goes good with the rhythm. You make it look pretty easy to..sounds good and good timing to. Nothing wrong with that at all.

  • check out the fucking arms on the guy!

  • WOW!! good stuff

  • nice

  • I can't believe some people are complaining. You sound awesome, bro. Good job.

Maybe I'll try to learn it too.

  • Frankly your speed sounds just right as compared to the Jim Soldi version. Well done.

  • Good job! I've been working on this one for awhile and picked up some of the missing pieces watching you play it so THANKS!!

  • Great job !! sounded like Johnny himself..

  • @anadrolking.Yeah i just thought it was a bit slow, just a bit though. Its an awesome song,i got it on my music side of my samsung U740.Its great! Some fine Picking there, good tune all around...

  • You cant cross the universe on half impulse power.speed it up just a notch, and then and only then can this be cool.Nice try.Try again.

  • @EagleTalon1970 Its the speed the song is played at, its not my song, and I don't play it in a band, and I did this vid for a friend who was trying to learn the song a few years back, So I played it the same speed same chording -Minus- the capo positioning. That Johnny Cash Played it. But that's for the input any how if it was any of my songs I would consider your idea, again thanks,

  • @anadrolking sounds great bro. I had been meaning to learn this one and had never gotten around to it until I saw your post. I prefer to play without a capo since I seem to have trouble keeping up with my capo. I'm sure Johnny is looking down with a smile when you pick-n-grin his tunes.

  • @EagleTalon1970 wat?....this the exact speed Johnny played it in. This acoustic version is perfect! watch the one on here with Johnny playing it live and count...thanks!

  • This is the best version i can find online any tabs yet because the tabs on ultimate guitar.com are so wrong not even close thanks

  • great job man !!!!!!!

  • i know country pickin is usually easy but this song is different

  • Perfect, i really enjoy your music. 5/5

  • good job on Johnny's song I forget what year he wrote it . I like how Roseanne does it too.

  • IYou really did a wonderful job. I really like cash music. But clean your room... Its a pigpen!

    regards, Rich

  • AAAAIIYYYAAAAAAA!!!!, lmao

  • I have wanted to learn this for years. A friend sent this and it is awesome. Thank you so much. I have a 12 string fender and I am just breaking away from only doing chords. Thanks again

  • Bravo Amigo! Very well played! I do live in a border town here in Texas and they still play those sweet tunes here! Yeah we Mexicans love this too!

    Viva Country Music!!!

  • realy good. please play more songs, you made it very good. greetings from germany .... chantal

  • awsome pickin!!! i started practicin when i saw this

  • Thank you that's Inspiring for me to hear, I will practice harder now myself. I am going to record his daughters lay out that her guitarist used and then you guys can have 2 versions to try to figure out. Both are very good, and I like both myself as much as the other. You guys should look at my other vids most of the stuff I got on here is my own stuff. And you can see my hot wife play as well.

  • Very well done. I've tried many times to play it straight thru for my late Father. I've tried in C as well. though I see a capo on 2nd fret in Johnny's versions making it in d. No big deal. Great Job

  • It does not mater what key you play it in, its all about the range of your voice and there is only 2 different ways to play this song fingerings I mean, well I am sure there is a lot more if you want to get technical but there is only 2 ways that its played his daughters way and his way. I think both capo on the second fret though, I do as well 4key of B, but I like the bass my guitar rings with no capo in the key of C. I think B is the other key his daughter plays in it. And Johnny's is D.

  • Perfect------ 5 Stars * * * * *

  • well done I'd like to learn this can you send me tab on this piece thanks

  • I have watched a lot of video's of Tennessee flat top.. and this is the best one.. Great job.. Do you have Tabs available for this song ??

  • really good job man, we enjoyed it here at our house.

  • very good job..

  • Thats better, The last guy I watched doing this messed it royally! My favorite song and he wrecked it! Thank you for doing it better.

  • I love it man, I really wish you had the tab done. All the tab on the net sucks for this song.

  • if you every get a tab done send it my way EXCELlenT job and picking

  • I will try I got a tab program now but i dont know how to use it. I will try though. Its really a simple basic song for runs and strum, if you look close you can follow it and get it down.

  • your useing a C chord there right...thats what is looks like to me

  • Finally someone who plays it just as well as I do....great job man!

  • holy crap man! Every bit as good as Carl Perkins! I have heard 100 people play this and you're the first to get the timing right. Kudos!

  • thanks Bro.

  • FAR OUT!!! (I'm 57) Great vid, I believe that your were using a C cord run? I'm gonna give it a try just the same, Mucho Thanks Amigo!! Warchild!

  • can you give me a tab for this

  • I dont hAVE A TAB PROGRAM BUT I AM WORKING ON GETTING TAB FOR YOUR PEOPLE WHO ASKED FOR IT, ITS JUST TAKING ME A LONG TIME. i THINK YOU CAN PULL IT STRAIT OFF THE NET AS WELL.

  • pretty badass dood

  • best Ive heard yet

  • great job!!! what is that tuned down to? i'm tuned, but off key..

  • its tuned a hair lower so that it sounds deeper, most bluegrass and blues acoustic players do this as it makes it sound cooler:).

  • Thanks!!! Check out my videos!

  • I want you to know I'll probably drive everyone around me crazy with this. You're right I can see alot of moves for myself but tab's would be awesone.

I'm a 60 year old "hippie chick" as they say and this is "my" song at Karaoke.

I do alot of major scale up and down the neck and I just can't seem to pull anything "all together", you know what i mean.

This is awesome and I definely would appreciate your tablature on it.

    peace out.

    rubytuesday

  • Fantatstic!

  • good job man

  • can you send me the tabs?? that was awesome!

  • Hey, I liked that a lot! You do a great job. But, I wish you would play through it slow once. Thanks!

  • SWEET! You are good buddy, you need to teach me how to play so my wife will listen to me when I play. You could play in the key of Z and still sound great. Do you know Rocky Top Tennessee? If you do please play.

  • haha thanks. I did this for a friend who wanted to learn it, its a very easy but cool song. look at my other stuff the stuff I am making up and see if you like it. i am trying to come up with a bluegrass flat picking run, and since you flat pick maybe you can figure something out. Its kinda blue grass and kinda rock its like new stuff my own not old style of same old same old, even though I love that stuff I am trying to do something new.

  • WOW! You need to put more out there buddy. You need to help me with that so my wife will listen to me play. SWEEEET!. Do you know rocky top tennessee? If you do please play, you are good.

  • Well done !

  • Tha's very nice playing

  • Wow, If I could play like that... when I play it, it sounds very flat. Thats awesome!

  • Johnny Cash played it in open like me capo1 and capo2 same fingering. His daughter plays it in B i think not sure dont play that fingering.

  • damn!! wrong key....but nice job

  • its not the wrong key guy. thats the original key, the way johnny cash plays it. I believe it says so in my comments.

  • Awesome job fella, i`m inspired *digs out dusty guitar*

  • hey sweet job man!
